So what.Nothing lasts for eternity. Not even Eternity.
Quit being a cheap skate.Go to Grandmas house and ask for
a small loan to buy a cooker.5 will getcha 10 you could go out
and see Cookers at the end of driveways on garbage pickup day.
Get a hard bristle steel brush and scrap off the rust.Or use
    Scotch Brite.

Have you never made something for yourself?
Never experienced the satisfaction of designing and building anything?
You should try it sometime, it's so more fulfilling than just opening your wallet.
Maybe you just don't have the skills, that's a little sad but not as sad as trying to mock someone who has.
That just makes you a small and petty guy.
    I feel for you.

Nice! I feel like it needs a little border. Like maybe pressure treated 2X4s on edge, sunk into the soil far enough that they're flush with the top of the bricks, all screwed together so the bricks can't shift.

It's a fabricator thing, evidently, you would not understand. This smoker will last a lifetime. I probably will need to buy some 3/8 plate for the ends. See how quick a storebought smoker will rust out.

Bet you think a welder is a waste of money too and welding just a foolish hobby, right?

There's plastic edging with foot long spikes to hold the blocks in place.

You know, the neighbor's yard didn't have anything to do with whether I approved, or not. It's not my business. I was just fed up with having to keep hacking it away from my yard.

Nice rhododendron. How are your other plants doing?

The lilac bed is starting to get going.

    20210608_080807.jpg

All of the other plants are struggling in one way or another.

I have some new rhododendrons in the front yard that were great, last year. This year, the flowers immediately turned brown. I'm thinking about digging them up and putting them in an acidic plant mix.

Could be a fungus on the rhododendron. If the leaves look fine, I doubt it is a soil issue.

The internet says that it's a fungus. I was thinking that a healthier, more suitable soil might make the plants stronger and more resistant to disease.

This is just an odd weather year for us that I am not going to jump to any conclusions about what is causing anything. I planted two dogwoods ten feet apart and one is doing great and the other one is now officially dead. Been hotter earlier and much dryer than usual. May saw us with the lowest rainfall for a May in recorded history. About a third of my front lawn is as dead as the one dogwood but too late to seed fescue and have it survive. Will just have to wait until fall.

I'm sure that the grass will recover. I bet that you'll have a weed problem, though.

I don't worry about weeds in my grass. I overseed around the house every fall anyway. Anyway, this isn't going to recover. It is deader than dead. Crunchy when you walk on it. Even the clover in that area turned black and gave up the ghost. Crabcrass will probably take it over.

My grass crunches, like that, every year. It keeps coming back.

This isn't coming back. It has rained a fair amount since the end of May and it is still deader than dead. There is a little bermuda and a few sprigs of clover coming back out but the fescue is toast.

It's worth the effort for the smell alone.

This is swamp weather. The more rain and humidity, the more
green stuff grows and grows.I thought it took sunlight and
photosynthesis to make stuff green. I mean that's what Miss Maryjane
    explains to her Hippie friends.
    Pot don't grow on trees.

A good solid decade anyways. Try that with your store bought. Plus, I can make mine to my own desires.
