Canada has at least one courageous political leader who could become our Prime Minister and play out the role in a manner that would be similar to what President Trump accomplished from 2015 to January of 2021 for the United States of America!

"People's Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier was arrested after appearing at a sparsely attended rally against COVID-19 restrictions in a southern Manitoba village on Friday afternoon.

Radio-Canada's Laïssa Pamou, who was covering the event, said the rally in St-Pierre-Jolys, which is about 57 kilometres south of Winnipeg, saw no more than 15 people in attendance. After the event ended, Bernier got into a vehicle to head to a rally in nearby St. Malo, another small, rural community.

That's when he was pulled out of the vehicle by Mounties who handcuffed him and put him in the back seat of an RCMP vehicle.

Bernier spoke to Radio-Canada shortly before he was detained and said he got a ticket for violating public health orders at a rally in the nearby town of Niverville earlier Friday. He did not say how much he was fined — just that he planned to fight it.

The federal Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism, Maxime Bernier, ran an ultramarathon yesterday from one end to the other of his Beauce riding, to raise money for a local food bank.

The 50-year-old Conservative MP and experienced runner ran 106 kilometres — the equivalent of two-and-a-half full marathons.

He left the town of Saint-Ludger, the riding's southernmost point, at 5 a.m. and arrived in the town of St. Bernard, at the extreme north of the riding, a little over 13 hours later — just shy of his 12-hour target.

Bernier set a goal of completing the run and raising $50,000 when he turned 50 earlier this year.

In the end, he raised more than $153,000 for the Beauce Harvest Foundation, with the help of constituents who cheered him on. Many also ran alongside him for portions of his run.

People's Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier has left Manitoba — for now.

Bernier left on a flight back to Montreal at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, the federal political party said in a news release.

The update comes after Bernier's weekend tour of anti-lockdown rallies in the southern part of the province was cut short Friday afternoon, when he was arrested by RCMP for breaching provincial public health orders intended to curb the spread of COVID-19.

He was charged under the Public Health Act for assembling in a gathering at an outdoor public place and for failing to self-isolate once he got to Manitoba, RCMP spokesperson Tara Seel said Friday.

The arrest came after his second stop of the day, in the village of St-Pierre-Jolys, about 50 kilometres south of Winnipeg. He was also ticketed earlier that day at his first stop, in the nearby town of Niverville. He told a Radio-Canada reporter on Friday he planned to fight that ticket.

Bernier was released Friday evening on the condition he follow public health orders while in Manitoba, RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Paul Manaigre said in a statement.

The penalties section of Manitoba's Public Health Act states the maximum sanction is a $100,000 fine, one year in jail or both.

Bernier spent roughly eight hours in police custody in the RCMP detachment in St-Pierre-Jolys before paying a cash bail of $1,000 upon his release, the People's Party said.

He's set to appear in Winnipeg court on July 27.

Mr. Cameron, standing beside the U.S. President, called his speech "bold" and "visionary."

Canada has not been included in such initiatives because of Mr. Harper's positions.

I personally think of Mr. Maxime Bernier as being highly Libertarian. I heard him speak at a meeting in Halifax, N. S., in January of 2019. He is definitely one of the most courageous political leaders here in Canada at this time.

2. I would suggest that you yourself invite Mr. Derek Sloan to debate with you on your quite popular youtube channel. Make it impossible for Mr. Derek Sloan to ignore you..... and you will prove to all Canadians that you are not merely a political leader but also a diplomat.

3. A serious error was made by Canadian Prime Minister Pierre E. Trudeau in 1974 that allowed for a major deception to occur in The United States of America. Once the error is corrected in Canada the same error will be easily understood in how it affected the economy of the United States of America over the last nearly five decades.

My theory is that the rather brilliant Bank of Canada policy that was in effect from 1938 to 1974 was too intelligent and logical and had to be messed up so that a deception could be pulled on Americans.... but the deception had to be pulled off on all Canadians first!

In my opinion the option of the PPC candidate in the area where Mr. Derek Sloan is running withdrawing from the race before the September 20, 2021 election should be discussed because doing this would scare not only P. M. Justin Trudeau's liberal leadership but also the leadership who are promoting Mr. Erin O' Toole as pretty much the only viable option to Trudeau.
