The FBI is known for instigating terror plots so they can foil them. This one had all the hallmarks of it.

"To some, the FBI’s infiltration of the innermost circle of armed anti-government groups is a model for how to successfully forestall dangerous acts of domestic terrorism. But for others, it’s an example of precisely the kind of outrageous government overreach that radicalizes people in the first place, and, increasingly, a flashpoint for deep state conspiracy theories.

The government has documented at least 12 confidential informants who assisted the sprawling investigation. The trove of evidence they helped gather provides an unprecedented view into American extremism, laying out in often stunning detail the ways that anti-government groups network with each other and, in some cases, discuss violent actions.

An examination of the case by BuzzFeed News also reveals that some of those informants, acting under the direction of the FBI, played a far larger role than has previously been reported. Working in secret, they did more than just passively observe and report on the actions of the suspects. Instead, they had a hand in nearly every aspect of the alleged plot, starting with its inception. The extent of their involvement raises questions as to whether there would have even been a conspiracy without them.

A longtime government informant from Wisconsin, for example, helped organize a series of meetings around the country where many of the alleged plotters first met one another and the earliest notions of a plan took root, some of those people say. The Wisconsin informant even paid for some hotel rooms and food as an incentive to get people to come.

The Iraq War vet, for his part, became so deeply enmeshed in a Michigan militant group that he rose to become its second-in-command, encouraging members to collaborate with other potential suspects and paying for their transportation to meetings. He prodded the alleged mastermind of the kidnapping plot to advance his plan, then baited the trap that led to the arrest."

To be fair, why spend all this money combating domestic terrorism if there isn't any? Well the FBI has experience in solving that problem.

Some of this is political and ideologically motivated.
With the radical Progressive faction of Democrats in charge, they want to "prove" that there is Far Right terrorism problem. (A combination of their wanting to seek vengeance against racists, making gun owners look bad, paranoia over the power of those who are ideologically opposed to them, and probably a little bit of attempted diversion from the actions of some of the groups affiliated with their own side, especially their more recent political alliance with borderline extremist muslim groups)

You have to ask yourself how much money and resources is being spent on this relative to the actual size of the problem.

There are many who believe the Oklahoma federal building bombing (which is probably the only major act of terrorism from persons on the Right) was planned and fomented by the FBI and that it was an undercover operation that got out of control. (This was also the case in the ATF gunwalking scandal many years later)
Also during the Waco massacre, the law enforcement (FBI and ATF) at the time tried to dishonestly portray the group as a radical religious cult and falsely accused them of child abuse.

Ya, a decade ago the FBI would tend target Muslim groups for these sorts of operations. Instead of getting into the multi-facetedism of it, I just went for simplicity. The main point is that the FBI goes out looking for malcontents that they can turn into terrorists.

    Plot Leader/FBI Agent
"This case has a credible claim of entrapment and one of the core witnesses for the government has suddenly become a liability..."
This FBI agent made his wife go to a "swingers" party and when she complained that she didn't enjoy it he slammed her head into a nightstand and choked her. Police describe her as covered in blood and bruises.
A real piece of FBI crap.
Biden planned this case to be the lead off hitter for their Kangaroo Jan Six Cases.

FBI's Star Agent On The Case Beats His Wife After She Complained About Him Making Her Go To A Swingers Party.

He made his wife go to a Swingers Party and when she complained afterwards, he beat her.
The FBI was driving the conspiracy? Why was the FBI driving the conspiracy?
    He sounds nice.
Well, if you can't trust the word of an FBI agent who makes his wife go to Swinger Parties and then bashes her head against a nightstand and chokes her when she complains afterwords, who can you trust?
These G-Men are real upstanding folks.
Sounds like a typical FBI dirtbag.

    Heart Breaking.

"The public has known about the many and horrific crimes of former USA Gymnastics team physician Larry Nassar for a few years now. What the public has largely been unaware of is the role that the" Dirtbag "Federal Bureau of Investigation played in" trying to cover it up.

The Dirtbags at the FBI go from criminal conspiracy to criminal cover up to back criminal conspiracy.
They are lying dirtbag scum. They go from one scandal to the next, sometimes multiple scandals, they lie about everything, they fix cases, they conceal exonerating evidence, they cover for felons, all with no whistleblowers and no resignations.
