Pelosi Criticizes Lawmakers For Secretly Going To Afghanistan

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday criticized the secret trip by two House members to Afghanistan the day before, given the personal risk to the lawmakers and the strain on limited federal resources that are currently focused on evacuating people from the country.

Pelosi said she hasn't spoken with Reps. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) or Peter Meijer (R-Mich.) since they returned from Afghanistan, adding "they have to make their own case as to why they went" but warning that such trips are "deadly serious."

"It was not, in my view, a good idea," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol.

I love the "strain on federal resources" as we throw more money into a screwed up operation. I applaud these two veterans for they have every right to see for themselves what is going on instead of taking the Pentagon's word for it as Pelosi is willing to do.

 

I think the trip was a great idea.

Not so sure about stupid and the risk was to them which they were willing to take. I would like to hear why they weren't believing the reports coming out of Afghanistan. Maybe because the news being reported is different than what the WH or Pentagon is giving. A little too optimistic because all I am seeing here is loud cheering from the left. From my article:

Now there are troops stranded in Afghanistan, and they had to shame Joe away from his vacation to even get him to show up for work in DC, and the Vice President ran off to Vietnam to hide from the mess they've made.

It's just a chaotic and reckless discourse that has no basis in any kind of principle, truth, or logic other than dictations provided by authorities within their political tribe. The tribe hates Trump so they oppose him on shutting down air travel between China and the United States even though that's the most scientifically supported approach to stopping infection rates.

I feel like we're getting punk'd right now. These two legislators that went to Afghanistan are being heralded in the media, but any kind of background search into these two yields a treasure trove of corrupt and unsavory behavior. Family members don't even like them. To me, bipartisan headlines equate to "these guys are establishment A-holes" that were propping cause they will do the bidding of our corporate sponsors.

So while it's nice to pick on Biden, Kamala and Pelosi, I'm not going to help the media build up two Washington swamp monsters into names spoken at the kitchen table.
