Don’t blame me for your hypocritical positions. So why’s it ok for rich Trump to care about the poor but not AOC?

I’m not a fan of her, but your argument is ridiculous and hypocritical.
Do you care about the poor?
    Do you own anything expensive?

A person who’s only qualification was wiping drink glasses fighting for the downtrodden got suddenly used to being among the rich and famous.

AOC did it for the attention.

It won't make taxing the rich any more likely. She wanted to go to the Met Gala and rationalized this as a way to justify it.

BTW I like AOC and think she is the future of the democratic party, but this was a bad choice.

Their tickets are donated from a "donor" to those politicians at which that "donor" will write off the $30k on their taxes. Same with the dress maker. They over estimate it's value, donate it to the politician and then write that expense off. Totally legal as they are using the current tax loopholes that politicians such as AOC have written into the tax code.

You're talking in circles! I responded to your comment about the at or below poverty level being negatively impacted by a flat tax. Middle and rich would definitely pay more in federal tax revenue than the poor with a flat tax..

We don't tax wealth we tax income. What percent of the income earned do they get compared to the 40% of income taxes they pay? If that is not fair what would be? If that is not enough what would be?

Perhaps, and of course it was for the attention. I don't think she needed to rationalize anything.

    What she did isn't unprecedented.

"Fair" is not a real thing.

We should tax the people who have something to tax to pay for whatever we decide we need to pay for.

What's wrong with that? Would you prefer a person who knew nothing about being poor or working class ever in their life declaring themself the champion of the poor and working class?
Seriously dude, do you even think about what you're typing?

It's not my slogan it what we hear constantly from the left and I lost count how many times Biden used the phrase in his speech last week, on checking it was TWELVE.

"How are we going to do that? We’re going to do it by leveling the playing field; by just having a fair system where we ask the largest corporations and the wealthiest Americans to begin to pay their fair share, not more.

They can still make millions of dollars. The super wealthy are still going to be able to have three homes. It’s not going to affect anything.

The fact of the matter is, though, it’s about time they begin to pay their fair share.

For example — you’ve heard me say it before and I’ll say it again, but it’s the best example to make clear to people a very complicated notion: Fifty-five of the largest corporations in America last year paid zero — zero in federal taxes.

I don’t care what your position is. It just seems to me it’s time they start to pay their fair share like everybody else. Just pay a little bit here, and it comes out to billions of dollars if they pay it.....

...But, folks, right now, the House and Senate are working on my plan to generate a fairer tax system and close loopholes that big corporations and the super-wealthy use to pay less...

...Somebody has got to pay. And when those who can afford to pay aren’t paying anywhere near their fair share, it means you all pay more....

...And when corporations and the wealthiest start to pay their fair share,..

..Our country needs these investments. I’m not asking anything other than some fairness being injected into the system. Like I said, to hold here, the fact is that, you know, the very wealthy will — they’re still going to have three homes or four homes, if they want. It’s not going to change what schools they can send their kids to. It’s not going to change their standard of living. But just pay a fair share....

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing...by-president-biden-on-the-august-jobs-report/

On the federal level that means income when it comes to taxing people beyond excise taxes. Those who cry about making the "rich" pay their "fair share" when told about the share of taxes they pay versus the income share they earn quickly divert to the "well they have all the wealth" argument even though the federal government cannot tax wealth and even at the state and local level it is only on real property, land, and not as a "wealth tax". It's for services in the community in which that land resides.

I ask the simple question if the rates and what the high earners pay is not their fair share then what would be and what is the fair share of those in the bottom 50%? The bottom 70%.

Expect crickets from the "fairness" crowd.

yea, i don't think adults should use the word "fair". I'm not sure why you thought pointing out that democrats use the word too had anything to do with what I said.

Can we all agree that life is not fair and anytime someone uses the word "fair" they are trying to appeal to our inner child?
