WASHINGTON (AP) — As tens of thousands of Afghan refugees fleeing the Taliban arrive in the U.S., a handful of former Trump administration officials are working to turn Republicans against them.

The former officials are writing position papers, appearing on conservative television outlets and meeting privately with GOP lawmakers — all in an effort to turn the collapse of Afghanistan into another opportunity to push a hard-line immigration agenda.

“It is a collaboration based on mutual conviction,” said Stephen Miller, the architect of President Donald Trump’s most conservative immigration policies and among those engaged on the issue. “My emphasis has been in talking to members of Congress to build support for opposing the Biden administration's overall refugee plans."

The sooner the Republicans are free of Trump and trumpism, the better for them and all of America. We don't need more xenophobia among conservatives. The Republican Party sure doesn't need that if it's to be a viable party and its members are govern responsibly and compassionately, and we don't need Republican citizens to be whipped up into another frenzy of xenophobic hatred and fear that can only lead to misery, if not worse, for themselves and the people they're being manipulated into fearing and hating.

 

Considering that...

1. They will consume billions in 'welfare' dollars over the next decade.
2. They cant be vetted and in many cases wont even attempt to be.
3. We're still in the middle of a pandemic.
4. We have millions of homeless citizens.
5. We've had enough replacements inundate America already.

There is a sponsorship program that allows you to bring them into your own home and help them transition into our society. How many do you want?

 

If my crummy little swamp shack had the capacity, I'd be happy to help.

 

How it feel knowing they'll be getting free housing, free transportation, free clothing, free food, free internet, free cell phones, free healthcare, free school, and straight up free cash for 8 years minimum before even a single dime's worth of free **** can even be reduced?

 

Good for them. It would be tragic to bring them over here, dump them on the street and say "good luck!"

One almost even has to wonder whether the Biden Administration intentionally let Afghanistan fall to ensure a healthy supply of refugees - one the Republicans couldn't even say no to because they had been US allies and refusing to get them out would be letting them down and betraying them.

 

We have our lowest birth rate in our history, we have an ever aging population and declining population, we need immigrants regardless of their birth origins far more than they need us.

 

I will be sure to print out your post and hand out copies to the homeless.

Too bad several thousand or more of the people you infer you want here cannot be located in your community. If you have a wife or daughters these are these the people perhaps you don't want in your community. If your answer is Yes, you may want to look at who is responsible for 92 percent of the rapes in Sweden.
