“General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”

That's treason. Defend it if you want.

No such thing happened. What AbsaByGodLutely did happen is Benedict Donald's betrayal of OUR Country on January 6, 2021.

All arugments on this matter boil down to one inescapable fact, that Trump was coming unglued, erratic, unpredictable, increasingly incoherent in his rants, his obsession with 'democrats stealing the election" ( the big lie ) etc etc.

I really don't give damn about your so called arguments, god save us from Trump, no matter how it's done, it must be done, because Trump was and is an existential threat to the nation. Evidence for that fact is abundant.

And thank providence that General Milley protected America from the insanities of Donald Trump.

No one accused James Schlesinger of treason, and Milley hasn't done anything different than Schlesinger did, but demand that he be informed on any directive where attacks are levied on foreign nations. We already know Trump tried end run the chain of command. We already know he tried to shake down a foreign leader in order to benefit his campaign, we already know he declared on TV he wanted help on his campaign form China and Russia, both illegal acts, The man is a criminal, republicans in the senate are complicit in that criminality, and, As CofTJC I believe he is well within his right to make such a demand given who Trump is, a man wholly an completely unfit for the office. That doesn't mean his going to 'interfere', as you so characterize it.

Why do you keep deflecting to Trump and January 6th?

Ultimately, this isn't about either. It's about Milley's treason, which you seem to fully support.

For which he had no authority and in violation of the UCMJ and the chain of command, the CJCS has NO authority to place limits on any order even given let alone by the Commander in Chief. He has NO command and control authority.

So if Milley suddenly decides that Biden is senile he can assume control of the military and issue orders?

It boils down to one fact, Milley did not/does not have legal or constitutional authority to do what he is alleged to have done. If he believed that about Trump, which of course was not true he was never on the verge of a nuclear launch or starting a war over the election, then he had proper ways to air his concern and legal processes. If he believed China was this spooked or had been told by them they were he had a DUTY a SWORN duty to tell the President so the President in his proper constitutional role to deal with along with the SecState and SecDef could handle it. Milley took it upon himself to decide that now HE was in charge and was running our military and foreign policy.

He could do the same to Biden. If these allegations are true even partially true Biden has a duty to fire him, he cannot be trusted.

And Trump is guilty of being an existential threat to the nation.

I'll take Milley over Trump any day of the week.

There was considerable consensus that Trump was capable of such things, given his increased incoherent rants, erratic behavior, his shortened temper, his obsession with 'democrats stole the election' etc.

No one accused Schlesinger of treason, who did the same thing during Nixon's last days.

Your position fails to acknowledge the reality of the situation.

Interesting and telling how the hatred for Trump runs so deep that so many are willing to shred the U.S. Constitution just to hurt Trump. The Founding Fathers must be turning over in their graves.

You got part of it right. Donald Judas tRump's disdain for Americans and OUR Constitution is why he's so revield. His followers are just a cash cow and his ticket back to OUR White House. To him you're just sucker's and losers.

Yes, the Founding Father's are turning over in their graves. :disbelief:

You did not know that China had illegally claimed the entire China Sea as their own territorial waters. Even where it reaches the beaches of another country? Or that they have built fake islands in order to expand those territorial waters in the Pacific? They have threatened to attack the US if we interfere with their retaking Taiwan. They have even harassed us military ships in international waters. Yes, there exists a state of cold war, with threats of an all out war, between China and the United States. Do you really think the release of Covid-19 by the Chinese was accidental? Or their lame attempt to claim that the US was the original source of the virus?

Remember, that a cold war is not a declared war. It is simply one nation, of group of nations, that opposes another.

Now, as far as Milley taking something on himself, I have two topics for you to research. The first is the law that Biden wanted to use against Paul Manafort. That law is the Logan Act. The Logan act makes it illegal for an individual, even the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to claim to represent the US when I they are not authorized to do so. In the case of Milley, his authorization would have to come by way of the President by way of the Sec of State and Sec of Defense. For Milley to reach out to the Chinese without authorization, is a clear cut case of a violation of the Logan Act. Since Milley is a member of the US military, that makes his action one of treason. And yes, the UCMJ does call for execution of military member convicted of treason. In most cases the court martial convening authority will commute the sentence to life of hard labor at the military prison at Fort Leavenworth Kansas. You might also be surprised to learn that the UCMJ lists the prescribed punishment for Cowardice in the face of the Enemy as death by firing squad. You might also be interested to know that international law still allows death penalty for anyone convicted of spying.

All the that having been said, look for Milley to quietly retire and pray that the GOP does not win control of both the Legislature and Executive Branches.

What nuclear Holocaust? A figment of the DNC's imagination is not a fact. President Trump gave no indication that he had any intentions of a military attack, much less a Nuke attack, on China. If you read the article, you will see that the ultimate crazy female dog Pelosi goaded Milley into his treasonous act.

It is sad that liberals will excuse rapist fmr-Presidents, Sec of States that commit Espionage, Presidents that violate the US Constitution by enacting laws Executive Orders and and Generals that commit treason as long as they match their political agenda. It kind of reminds me of the USSR where those that are politically correct had a free reign to break any laws they want.

The real sad thing is that those of you that support the Democrat Socialist/Communist/Anarchist movement in this country think that they will be rewarded for their political correctness is they win. But when it is all over, they will b standing in line to by a roll of toilet paper with the rest of us.

I don’t think so, but if it is why doesn’t someone charge him with treason or anything else for that matter. You are making a very serious charge here. If he is court martialed that would be a start. However here in America or anywhere else, anonymous internet posters don’t get to determine if or what people are charged with. If he isn’t brought before a Military tribunal or indicted by Federal authorities I will assume that he is not guilty. Even if he is brought before a tribunal or indicted in a court of law I will have to assume that he is innocent until proven guilty in one of these venues.

Here on the internet’s we just say a bunch of stuff based on our political persuasions and our very limited knowledge of the facts and the laws as we perceive them. From what I have been able to ascertain regarding General Miley’s personal bio and the facts as I read them, what he did was prudent and responsible behavior under the circumstances at the time when he allegedly made that phone call. That’s my opinion at this point. How do you see it?

Well there you go again! Your first paragraph is blatant bullshit. The next two I won't argue much because I feel exactly the same about the right. What's to be done? First Americans need to stop bickering, stop seeing commie's and nazi's behind every bush and realize we are ALL Americans and our strength, our greatness, lies in working together.

Milley was just trying to save hisCountry from a mad-man.

Let's make it simple -- you can side with Milley or you can side with the U.S. Constitution. Take your pick.

The DoD spokesman is saying the book is wrong in their characterization of the phone call. They indicate that was nothing out of the normal with the call. It will be interesting to hear what General Milley has to say to the Senate.

He was clearly in violation of the Constitution if the call was as the book claimed. More than that, it suggests that an unelected official with an immense amount of power under his control could take control of our government. There were other alternatives and he failed to use them.

This is nowhere near "fact". It's the story the left has invented to try and defend treason.

Even if a president went crazy it is not in our Constitution that the military should take command. Milley violated the UCMJ, violated the U.S. Constitution, and violated his oath. The only people defending Milley are Trump haters. Those people scare me. And Milley scares me.

Calling it treason requires the conversation be taken completely out of context. Something you folks are well practiced at.

I don't care what you call it. It was a violation of Milley's oath and the Constitution.

Secondly, the DoD is denying that the conversation was as characterized in the book. The fact that they are denying it adds credibility to the unConstitutional nature of such a call.
