Yesterday there were at least three threads about General Milley's conversations with China and his efforts to make sure Donald Judas tRump didn't start War 3. This was Because of a book, not yet released, by Bob Woodward and Bob Costa that reported on Milley's efforts and the reason behind them.

So, what Milley did was discussed ad nauseam. With the right calling for Milley's life.

What wasn't discussed was Milley's motivation for contacting China, which was tRumps obvious mental decline caused by his presidential election loss. There is no succinct way to discuss tRumps mental state and the reasons his followers continue to support him when, at the least, he is so obviously flawed. So, what say you PF, why is Milley the villain and tRump the hero?

I'll contribute this rather long article on the symbiosis of tRump and his followers. Why they persist in following an obviously flawed individual and will support him ... NO MATTER WHAT.

    https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-shared-psychosis-of-donald-trump-and-his-loyalists/

I think there are one or two progressives that will read that and zero conservatives, but it IS worthwhile. In any case Milley's calls to China are the symptom, tRumps mental state is the disease.

On Jan 6th we came within a hair of our nation being overrun by delusional fanatics doing the will of their crazed egotistical leader.

That kind of mass delusion has occurred in history but it was the first time that it happened in America.

Unfortunately there is now mass denialism that it happened and/or why it happened.

A large part of our nation needs to regain a grip on reality.

How that will come about is still TBD but the sooner the better IMO.

The reasons are multiple and varied, but in my recent public-service book, Profile of a Nation, I have outlined two major emotional drives: narcissistic symbiosis and shared psychosis. Narcissistic symbiosis refers to the developmental wounds that make the leader-follower relationship magnetically attractive. The leader, hungry for adulation to compensate for an inner lack of self-worth, projects grandiose omnipotence—while the followers, rendered needy by societal stress or developmental injury, yearn for a parental figure. When such wounded individuals are given positions of power, they arouse similar pathology in the population that creates a “lock and key” relationship.

Now there's a perspective I had not considered. But it makes sense of The Following's irrational defense of all things Donald in the face of epic incompetence, pervasive corruption, historic dishonesty, and unprecedented egomaniacal behavior.

Milley is a concern troll. There was no "obvious mental decline" of Trump, unlike our current President*. Milley is part of the folks in DC that bow to China because they're told to because certain people (like Mitch McConnell and Romney, Feinstein, etc.) are heavily invested in China.

There was no evidence of mental decline.
There was no evidence Trump wanted to start a war with China.
Milley, and his pal Pelousy, committed crimes.

Great that Milley is still on duty and looking out for China because the guy he works for now has heap big mental issues.

No matter your justifications, we have a process called the 25th for a reason. You don't just declare yourself a "Dr." and make a "diagnoses" and break the law.

Doesn’t matter. The process is still not resorting to treason.

When I hear tRumps, I immediately disregard everything because of the obvious bias.

What has Joe Biden's mental state got to do with worries about the former president's mental state?

One's completely made up, and one isn't, lol. That's clearly obvious. Biden has serious mental issues.

The 25th is a bureaucratic process that unfortunately takes time. What Milley did was 'right now', which the concern made a requirement. If no one recognizes that your response will just be your lips flapping.

Both in your opinion. Even if one has "serious mental issues" that doesn't mean that the other is made up and is a deflection away from the premise that Millay did what he did because he believed the former president was acting erratically.

What 'concern'? Milley's baseless "concerns", lol? This whole thing was about Trump tariffs, which pissed off a bunch of rich white people in power because it hit them in the pocketbook, too.

Biden's mental decline is factually obvious. Claims about Trump's "mental decline" are unfounded.

It goes without saying the opposite is true. Reassuring a nuclear power Trump will not be allowed to pull a Dr. Strangelove is not looking out for China.

How long would it take to gather up the VP, the Speaker, the Majority Leader and a psychiatrist or two? A couple of hours? A half day?

It is a bad precedent and violation of the Constitution That is what third world countries do.

Additionally, the president is powerless unless the military goes along with him. He cannot just press a button and cause the launch of nuclear weapons.

The use of the word treason with respect to Milley's actions is Orwellian. But I understand the desire on your part to level the accusation after supporting the treasonous acts of the Orange Messiah.

Oh the irony, lol. Here we have actual evidence of treason, while there's no actual evidence of Trump committing treason.

It was an insurrection and Pelosi was part of it.. Funny how she came up with that word after J6, and it now applies to her.

Nobody elected Milley. That's the point of a citizen/civilian controlled military through the office of the President.

Milley and Pelousy are traitors. Pure and simple.

I think opening up Pelosi’s communications would uncover a lot here…. But I would bet that past issues we would find she pushed for insurrection and it all had to do with her thinking she is untouchable and her communications were not accessible…
