How did General Milley's Actions Prevent a War?

I keep hearing from his defenders that General Milley prevented World War Three even a nuclear war.


How?


Couldn't you just as well argue that Milley's actions made war more likely by elevating the tension with Chinese leaders? Did Milley's actions have any impact on "tamping down" President Trump?

 

There wasn't a war to prevent.

 

Its all they have to dismiss treason. Someone needs to shake the left up to remind them we were not in any way in any danger of a nuclear war with China.

Just an FYI, Milley tried to pass off that the civilian staff appointed over him knew of his conversations until they made it very clear, they would have never ever approved of Milley making those statements.

Indeed, edit out whatever needs to be edited out for classification purposes, but a de-classification should establish if the players mentioned on the call were on the call, and that in fact it was a standard review and not an attempt to usurp the chain of command within the US Military.

Apparently, generals can call our enemies and undermine our president, by telling them that our president is unfit, and "gee golly, I'll warn you ahead of time if our president orders any sort of aggression against you."

Miley's mind can create any fanciful, imaginary, fictional thing that he believes Biden might do, call any of our enemies to warn them that he thinks Biden might wish to bomb them, and declare himself a hero for preventing a war. When we have generals allowing their conspiratorial minds to run rampant, then the sky is the limit.

 

As I said, I will let Gen Milley defend himself. As to why he did it, there is an other civilian who was once 3rd in command that had concerns about Trump too.

Well Joe you inherited a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation's highest-ranking military officer, who thinks he's more important than the president of the U.S. and he conducts foreign policy. Not to mention he ignores the U.S. Constitution, the UCMJ, and his oath.

People defending Milley are more like co-conspirators. Assuming the evidence backs up the statements by Bob Woodward, who is an investigative reporter famous for revealing the Watergate scandal that took down Nizon are true- Milley committed treason. It makes no difference what he thought might happen in his own mind; he had a sworn duty to his nation, to his president, to the constitution and his oath- and violated all of that. Absolutely a crime and universally unacceptable conduct for a soldier. IF we didn't have lunatics in Washington contaminating the nation's values- Milley would be facing a General Court Martial right now.

Has he come out in publicly deny the allegations?

 

How did he "elevate tensions with Chinese leaders"? Contacting his counterpart in China to say that things are stable here (while our POTUS was having a very public nervous breakdown) is far from escalating tensions.
