Ah...the provocateur speaks (or, in this case, writes). The left winger pretending to be a conservative, with ridiculous posts, that even the rational right has to throw out. Why don't you explain to us how the South won the Civil War?

He was arguing a defense argument already rejected by the court.

The Civil War included Many Battles. Not just one Big Battle.
Like Larry Elder gracefully conceded with a caveat.
We lost the Battle but not the War.

LOL! Without a link to the specific article you're referencing, this claim (you seem to be making up as you go) is worthless.

I did see an article { Yesterday or day before } where one Insurrectionist
did cave and copped a plea. But that was not the first Insurrectionist to fall prey.

And if that were true it would have been leaked by now. They would have brought it out to cover Biden's ass on COVID or Trashganistan or the border to the massive inflation or ABC XYZ you name it. Face it, this was the actions of 1 rogue traitor general who must be arrested for treason.

I think we are way past a firing or resignation now.

You think those riots gave Milley carte blanche to betray his country? Let's look at that quote again:

“General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”

He's promising to inform an enemy of a possible attack. There is nothing in law or the constitution that excuses this, and it definitely falls within the constitutional definition of treason.

    The constitutional definition of treason:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Milley's call certainly sounds like "adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

If he had actually gave the warning for a real attack that would probably fall within "levying War against them"

He was telling him that despite what you see regarding the Capitol riot, everything is under control and our policy remains the same toward China. I'll let you know if it changes. That's consistent with U.S. and international law.

When you are trying to spin a sentence to mean something totally different from what was actually said, that should tell you that you are on the wrong side of the argument. That sentence again:

“General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”

That isn't saying that everything is under control and our policy is the same towards China, it's saying that if we attack, I'll warn you...Comrade.

I don't blame you for trying to claim this quote says something totally different from what it actually says, since the implications are unsettling, but at some point, you are going to have to choose whether you are loyal to the United States of America or MSNBC talking points.

Are you kidding me!?? Trump is so F’n sick that he still thinks he is the LEGITIMATE president of the United States. Of the two Biden or Trump which one do you think is the LEGITIMATE president of the U.S. This question is necessary because it goes a long way toward resolving whether you can decide Trump's Mental State. So complain about Biden all you want but you don’t have what it takes to put your money where your mouth is.[/QUOTE]

NOTHING you posted shows Trump was insane or mentally incompetent or about to attack China. He was like all you say BEFORE he was elected President. And NOTHING your posted justifies Milley's alleged actions.

Most relevant to the current discussion, the plea wasn't for anything to do with a "sedition" charge or "seditious conspiracy". It was a generic "conspiracy" charge, which means @stone6 was wrong when he claimed that someone had pled guilty to "seditious conspiracy". I suspect he knew he was wrong, which is why he tried to obfuscate his claim by not providing a link that would disprove his claim.

Your point was wrong. You claimed something that is false.

I read that as telling his Chinese counterpart that despite the unrest at the Capitol, we aren't going to launch an attack on you, but if we were I would notify you in advance. IOW, we aren't going to attack you first, but if we were I would notify you.

What do you find wrong with that? It's consistent with the U.N. Charter and the War Powers Act. Are you suggesting the President has the right to do otherwise? The right to launch an unprovoked attack on China?

The defendant is Jason Dolan. The South Florida Sun Sentinel ran the story today. He pled guilty to conspiracy charges and agreed to cooperate with federal investigators.

The book has not been released why do you ask?

AS I HAVE SAID, release the transcripts of the calls and Congress should hold hearings. NOTHING you said would excuse Milley if the allegations are accurate. He had a proceedure and both he and Esper might be in trouble for not telling the Preisdent of the Chinese concerns and their actions about them.

But it is the second call that is more problematic for Milley.

The world sees the Trump the MSM/Dems/Left portrays and if the Chinese were that scared then THEY share the blame for what the Chinese may have believed at the time because it was they who were running around with their hair on fire over the baseless assertions about Trump launching a nuclear attack.

Do you know that Milley was only stating existing U.S. policy and that the President DOES NOT have the Constitutional or statutory right to initiate a first attack on China (or any other nation).

Fine so far. But Trump was not about to attack China. That was something Milley dreamed up if Woodward was not lying.

We expected a denial from Milley but so far, nothing.

Why would you expect that? If the story is true, he did nothing more than reaffirm U.S. policy.

I initially wrote it off as typical Woodward gossip presented as history. But then came all the talking heads denials, none of which denied the contents of the call or the meeting he had with military officials.. Add rumors that Milley himself was Woodwards source and now we have the Pentagon defending the contents of the call as written in the book.
