Not until the vaccine. People didn’t have a choice and that lack of choice was deadly for some

Now that the vaccine is readily available with a pretty high efficacy rate we should let people make that choice. I do support private business requiring employees or customers to wear make or have proof of vaccination however.

It's just to appeal to her braindead base. They won't see the hypocrisy because they don't want to.

Speaking out is the only thing they need to do - as long as it's directed with the compassion they claim to be exercising. If it's simplistic and unfocused "stop hate" "kill the rich", etc .. it's just vain posturing. But even if they meant those things, they'd still be wrong. Wealthy people minding their own business are not the problem - the enablers are. After all, they're the ones responsible for demoralising an ever growing swathe of humanity.

    Completely asinine.

They not only hate rich people they're obsessed with them. They physically attack them, their property, their neighborhoods wherever they can.

Neither. It was tacky and infantile.

That's precisely what the Babeuvian Illiterati in this country are proposing.

Of course, everyone will wind up poor with them...

...but look on the bright "progressive" side - there'll be no more annoying inequality! :w00t:

Wait are you saying a billionaire would have to pay 520 million in federal taxes alone in year one? Guess he wouldn't be a billionaire very long lol, wow. I wonder how many Amazon hubs that would kill in year one.

I would love for someone to ask AOC if she would support a bill classifying campaign donations as taxable income, I mean just think about it her 100k worth of goodies and fun at this event alone would've made the US gov't 46k and the state of NY 12k.

The point is in NY it's not the choice, the politicians making and supporting the law all there maskless and flaunting it while the working people having to be miserably masked. For some reason the left seems to support this hypocrisy, especially the lefty politicians.

If an individual made one Billion in income then yes, their taxes would be close to the $500M mark.

Campaign donations over a certain amount should absolutely be taxable.

It's the Democrats flaming jealousy and envy in order to get their policies. Biden is doing it now in his speech he is giving on the economy.

For instance he rails about 55 corporations who did not pay any corporate income tax last year "HOW COULD THIS BE" he asked. Well all he as to do is ask the IRS and they could tell him. Most likely they had losses the previous 3 years and those losses carry over. Or they built a new plant and those gross profits were reinvested to build it, equip That is standard tax policy nothing nefarious or unfair about it. And then the phony claims about the top earnings paying less in taxes than teachers and firemen and any other emotional claim he can spout.

And of course the "fairshare" fallacy. He just claimed all these wealthy paying are "evading" taxes because the don't get W2 forms, WHAT? ALL dividend and capital gains are reported to the IRS. They are recorded events. He says "working people" don't have tax breaks. Well yea they do starting with the standard deduction which is a huge tax break. If they have more breaks coming than that they can itemize for instance their mortgage interest payments. Same with medical expenses. If they own a business they pass through that and take deductions accordingly.

He and the left never say what is this "fair share" they allege and compared to now what would be a fair share for the bottom 50% versus the top 10%.

Anytime someone starts out their point with "democrats" or "republicans" it signals to me they are only interested in partisanship and not problem solving.

If you can't discuss the policies of the Democrats and Republicans then why are you here?

How about we discuss policies without caring who proposes them.

Talking about the who only makes it harder for us to get to the what.

How can you divorce the two? I was posting about the DEMOCRAT policies as the DEMOCRAT President was proposing today and how the DEMOCRATS misrepresent taxation and tax data to manipulate public opinion. If you want to discuss that policy and how the Democrats use it let's go. It is a current event. If you want to talk economic and government policy theoretically start another thread.
