Just as I was thinking :hmm:

    https://news.yahoo.com/australias-victoria-reports-183-local-231514025.html

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Australia's Victoria, home to more than a quarter of the country's 25-million population, reported 183 new locally acquired coronavirus cases on Sunday as the outbreak of the highly transmissible Delta variant grows. Of the infections, 101 were linked to existing outbreaks, health department said on its Twitter account. There are 1,417 active cases now in the state.

More than 15 million people in Victoria, neighbouring New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory have been in weekslong lockdown to quell Australia's worst wave of the coronavirus pandemic so far.

The lockdowns, which keep internal borders between states and territories closed, are part of a federally advised strategy to manage the outbreaks until at least 70% of those 16 and older get fully vaccinated.

The plan also envisages that Australia might start gradually reopening its international borders, closed since March 2020, when 80% people receive the shot .
    . .

    Just more :blahblah:

    Tell Moi It ain't so!

    Oh dear!

Police surround Melbourne synagogue as worshippers gather for Rosh Hashanah

Police have blocked laneways around a Ripponlea synagogue, where more than 100 worshippers are marking Jewish New Year in what appears to be a breach of COVID-19 restrictions.
The Age has been told that members of the Orthodox Jewish congregation entered the synagogue about 5am Tuesday and are refusing to leave the Glen Eira Avenue building until nightfall……
A police source not authorised to speak publicly said a forced entry was unlikely, with officers expected to wait until worshippers leave the synagogue later on Tuesday before taking any potential action.

Yep. It was the Ultra Orthodox who seem to think that the laws don’t apply to them.

they copped $5,000 fines for breaking the law. Someone hit a cameraman on the head and he was concussed!

Um, I’m talking from Australia. We have a different idea of freedoms here.
Don’t you have a saying that your freedom ends where mine begins?
Wouldn’t that include spreading deadly diseases because you disregard public health guidelines?

Well technically it already is. If by 'nuclear' you mean does it have nuclear reactors? It does. One single small reactor whose primary function is producing medical isotopes for the domestic and international market. The subs won't be nuclear armed and Australia is a signatory to the non-proliferation pact so it won't be acquiring any for the foreseeable future either.

As if AussieLand's tiff with China isn't enough,
now picking a fight with France!

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/australia-says-france-knew-grave-080352564.html

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — France would have known Australia had “deep and grave concerns” that a submarine fleet the French were building would not meet Australian needs, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said Sunday after the contract's cancellation set off a diplomatic crisis.

France accused Australia of concealing its intentions to back out of the 90 billion Australian dollar ($66 billion) contract for French majority state-owned Naval Group to build 12 conventional diesel-electric submarines
    .

    Hey! France.
Didn't YOU get the message Australia now opts for nuclear.
Try selling them to India or Algeria, etc.

French submarine builder to bill Australia for sunk contract
French defense contractor Naval Group said Wednesday it will bill the Australian government for torpedoing a multi-billion dollar contract to purchase submarines in favor of nuclear-powered ones from the United States, according to AFP. . .

    :roflol:

Will they charge interest over time the bill remains, unpaid.
