Yet it has been losing population. Net-domestic outmigration exceeded the number of new immigrants from around the world for the first time in 2018, according to CA Department of Finance estimates.

Obviously you prefer the kind of devastation to a state by governments such as California. While you demean Texas.... many of the big corporations bailing out of California are going to? Texas.
Far more positive business and work environment and a government that unlike California's, actually operates with it's head outside it's rectum.

California has $900 BILLION in unfunded pension liabilities, lol. I think we'll be fine here in Texas. Thanks.

Obviously, you have the amazing gift of knowing what I think and feel, since you never hesitate to tell me. </sarcasm>

Right. Tell that to the Texans who froze to death last winter, and couldn't get basic things like water for weeks.

I've never seen any such thing, not here where I live, nor in NYC where I lived for ten years, nor Los Angeles where I grew up, nor the SF bay area where I also lived for about ten years.

What part of unprecedented levels of unemployment caused by federal shut downs of business and drastic inceases in unemployment benefits did you miss?

Texas experienced a rarity of weather- cold beyond the normal extremes of that state. The same extreme cold wave killed people all along it's path to the north east, but fewer in areas where the homes are built for colder extremes and the people more prepared for it. It's like the houses in south Florida being built to withstand hurricanes and 150 mile winds, but not sub-zero temperatures, where the houses in Maine are built to withstand -30 degree winters- but not hurricane winds.

On the other hand, the people of California know full well what the conditions used to be as opposed to what they are now, and they all know they can't blame the needles and piles of human feces on the sidewalks of San Francisco or the tent-ghetto that has taken over Venice beach or the multitude of problems degrading their state on the weather- NO, those are disaster of bad management and outright stupidity- and they lie totally in the hands of their democratic leaders, who are incapable of even recognizing what's right in front of them. Biden doesn't recognize his border policies as a disaster, but anyone with an IQ above 50 would. Same condition- ignorance of your own ignorance.

I think if Newsom walked up on an airplane crash in a residential neighborhood, his first thought would create a law prohibiting crashes into taxable property areas, and requiring airplanes to crash only in the deserts. There's a big difference between a disaster caused by natural forces and ones caused by sheer stupidity. California is like the test facility for that; they are able to ignore the massive home-grown problems that are destroying their economy and quality of life, and at the same time think they must force farmers to capture all the cow farts in order to improve the environment.

Stuff like that- as obvious to any thinking man as the sun coming up in the morning.... seem to slip by you without notice. That is something becoming characteristic of today's democrats, as illustrated by the people of California failing to remove Newsom and instead of asking for another helping of incredible stupidity.

Texas like any other part of the nation will have it's failures, but it also then responds appropriately and acts to prevent future reoccurances. California- plans many of it's disasters, and recurrences and takes political advantage of them. That's why massive numbers of people have left California for Texas- including major companies and wealthy people. It's a difference in people looking to the future, and those unable to look in the mirror and see anything.

California says their population is not shrinking, and that's true. For every wealthy taxpayer who contributed to the economy that gives up on the state and leaves, they bring in more illegals that takes from the economy- and they think that's a "stable" population. However, as the major corporations leave, they have nothing to replace them with. In the first six month of 2021, 74 corporations moved their headquarters out of California. Om 2020, 64 such companies left over the full year- so the loss of tax-base corporations and the high income people that run them is almost triple that of only last year.

How is it possible that intelligent people cannot see they are destroying their own economic contributing tax base and simultaneously increasing their economic tax burdens? This is a problem of cognizance; the ability to tell the difference between a burro and a burrow.... your ass and a hole in the ground.

When intelligent people do stupid things, they learn, the cost becomes the tuition paid. When people do not learn- they get to take the class over and over, paying every time.
I ask myself how long it will take for today's democrats to recognize the disasters they are now precipitating every day- and be able to learn from them instead of buying another round.
This isn't rocket science, it's common sense to the rest of the world.

Sorry, not gonna read your lengthy diatribe in defense of Texas and against all things liberal. My opinion is formed from a long association ... my father was from Texas, I have a lot of family there, I've spent too much time there to have even a modicum of respect for the current elected leaders of the state, and its citizens who elected them. Peddle your apologistic, holier-than-thou tripe elsewhere, please.

Yeah, all you need for proof is to take a mid-day drive on the 405 freeway to realize that.

That's good advice, because there's little to be gained trying to teach anyone who can't see beyond themselves.
I'll leave you to learn everything the hard way- which will probably be endless disappointment, but no progress.

If you think all these wealthy Democrats don’t have illegals cleaning or taking care of their property, you’re clueless.

I didn’t bring it up or personally accuse Trump of choosing to hire illegals. Dems always claim Trump
handpicked illegals to work in his hotels, which is absurd. People like you do it in every thread and always leave out that all those Leftists in CA aren't getting the lawns mowed by citizens:)

LOL, the feds didn't shut down businesses.

    ...
    WHEREAS, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas renewed the disaster proclamation under his authority under Section 418.014 of the Texas Government Code;

    ...
    • Employers should allow work at home alternatives to the greatest extent possible. • Restaurants should not allow dine-in options, either inside or outside. Take-out and curbside options with minimal contact are permitted and highly encouraged.

Well, you got those two right. The catch to change is knowing the difference between change for the better.... and change for the worse.
And of course- change for the sake of change without caring about probable consequence is usually- stupid. Smart people, wise people, know better.
Doing nothing in the face of needs almost always winds up being the latter.

He did what Fauci told Trump to do and what every state in the union did. Note with so many businesses closed the unemployment compensation funds and Medicare/medcaid funds took a huge hit.
