    Well, we can debate the percentages for eternity, but this woman certainly bears a large amount of the responsibility for her own death.... There were thousands at the rally, then the riot, who decided NOT to try and crawl through broken glass into the heart of Democracy....

    Little sickens me more than agreeing with the conservative element of this forum, but that's not proof....

    Unless any of the suicides left notes or details on why they were doing what they did, I don't see how it can be proven that it was because of their defending against the insurrection.

    It's possible and even likely, but that's not a direct connection...

    I don't think black and white in these discussions helps much. Is it likely the events at the capitol contributed significantly to the officers' suicides? Certainly. But there's no way of proving that, and I suspect that for many people who commit suicide, there are complex reasons underlying how they react to circumstances.

    Don't know who you're talking to but I'll bite. That 4 killed themselves in the months following the riot suggests that it was surely a factor in the death of at least some of them. Average US police suicides per year are about 17 per 100,000. There were about 1200 officers on duty at the capitol. That would suggest very roughly that one of them would commit suicide in the following 10 years (can't be bothered doing the precise math).

    The statistics show that it is very unlikely 4 officers out of 1200 would commit suicide in a 6 month period. But the fact you don't even address the statistics suggests to me you're not really interested in the facts of this.

    I actually somewhat agree with this, but I don't think it's much of a defence. We all have different kind of vulnerabilities; some of us are more vulnerable to suicide than others. Those more vulnerable are more easily tipped over the edge, especially by traumatising events, but those events can still be a significant factor in the suicide.

    How do you spot those who are in a Cult? They are the ones that don't realize that they are in a Cult.

    Depends on what you were doing.... if you were biking at a rapid pace trying to keep up (metaphorically) with our elderly, but in shape POTUS, then I'd suggest there's a possible correlation there...
