How do you shoot and kill the director of cinematography (not in the movie) then turn around and wound the director (Not in the movie)?
This has a very weird vibe to it.

 

Was it real bullets or too close with blanks?

Prop guns these days are almost always replicas modified to not be able to fire real bullets... but its also really hard to kill someone on accident with blanks. It would pretty much require pressing the prop directly against their temple or eyeball...

Movies use real guns and usually blanks.

Anti gun Baldwin did not follow simple gun rules.

 

They say blanks... but to be as close as 20 feet, he would have had to move the gun to hit the second person.... something doesn't add up, unless and of course, something isn't being released in regards to this.

 

No one said he turned around. Sounds like one discharge hit both victims, probably a blank from a shot-gun, possibly double barreled one.

This is a very strange story. I havnt seen any good explanations yet for what happened. I’m guessing somehow real bullets were used instead of blanks? I could see a blank killing one person if they were VERY unlucky and close, or did something stupid like leave a cleaning rod in the weapon. But how did two get hit? Very odd.

 

Bruce Lee (Kung Fu) son, Brandon Lee died in similar situation with a prop-gun and blank round.

There might have been something stuck in the barrel, which would become a projectile when a blank is fired. That was the case with Brandon Lee's death. A rock could end up in a barrel of a shotgun.

There is zero reason for them to use real bullets. Zero. Most of the time they use real firearms, with blank rounds.

The gun discharged in the direction of the staff, not towards another actor while shooting a movie, so it must have been an accidental discharge.

Depends. There are prop guns used in large scenes but are only carried. All of the guns you see being fired in movies are real guns. Even Princess Leia used real guns dressed up.

 

Depends on how it happened, which we don't know. Accidents do happen. My neighbor recently had an accidental discharge and the bullet destroyed the glass of her hurricane proof door. Most modern handguns wont go off even if dropped, but these guys were shooting a western, so they must have had older firearms, - old revolvers, shotguns etc

While tragic for the two who were shot, I can't help but find this amusing. Couldn't have happened to a better person...

 

I suspect Alec Baldwin, being an idiot, was messing around with the prop gun and pointed it at one of them as a joke and pulled the trigger at close / contact range and killed them.. not to be too mordid, but a skull fragment could have wounded the other.

 

He's just dumb enough to do that.
