It is obvious you don't understand the difference between socialism and government social spending.

No actually -- Capitalism has got is into this wretched state.. in particular black vs white paradigms such as the one you trumpet.. blaming societies woes solely on these good for nother lazy bums on welfare.

This absurd nonsense is parroted all the time by the establishment propaganda machine .. in hopes of avoiding the real issues that have put is in this state.

    1) Extreme Capitalism and Extreme Socialism (Commie style) meet at the far end of the spectrum .. in both cases you have a few elite owning most resources and means of production .. we are not on the extreme Capitalism end of the spectrum.

    2) feeding the poor is a pittance ... in now way is responsible for our decline ..this absurd nonsense ignores logic, reason, and history .. not only is the number really small .. thus not having much effect on the grande scheme .. you can't not feed the poor . .. and only someone who is lacking in History would say such a thing .. as we know that bad things happen when you don't feed the poor .. ranging from Rawanda .. to Pol Pot .. .. The Roman Senators spent half their time dealing with how to keep the poor fed.

    3) Go learn what an Oligopoly is .. and write an essay describing the nasty things that happen .. then compare to our system .. and see what you find.

Who is us? You mean the people of America, the most powerful and wealthy country on the planet? Those people? Do you know where you can find the worst efficiency? Yup, countries with socialist economies.

    What state is that?

In a socialist economy the government owns the resources and means of production, not the oligarchs. Oligarchies are like Russia is today. There is a dictatorial government with a few select people provided with economic power.

Seen anybody starving to death in America? I didn't think so.

See my short explanation above. No need for an essay. The US is not an oligarchy. Russia is.

The US is a dying empire .. riddled with debt disfunction and corruption .. a nation losing its soul .. as was the case with all dying empires .. our system .. an Oligopoly Bureaucracy fusion monster .. mixing the worst of both extremes into one ugly beast.

That is our current state .... and you can stop dreaming of days long past ... and passed us buy. That you are clueless to this reality .. is unfortunate - but becomming less common .. so take heart .. there may be hope on the horizon that we may take action to stop our descent into darkness.

You think the state of our government is the same as the state of our nation and people. You couldn't be more wrong. Our government is riddled with debt, dysfunction and corruption. I agree completely. But it isn't much more than a nuisance to our private sector. It is probably difficult for you to understand true freedom.

I did not say they were the same .. but in many ways they are the same .. the Gov'ts debt an ddisfunction .. is our debt and disfunction.. Who's debt did you think it was .. someone other than "We the People "

You blubber some nonsensical gibberish about this being "not much more than a nuisance to our private sector" demonstrating how uninformed and desperately clueless you are with respect to the effect of the aforementioned on our private sector .. followed by some name calling .. as if you have the first clue about freedom in general .. or fair or free markets.

Your hopelessly lost -- why would I try ? "Debt and Gov't corruption has little or no effect on the private sector" What is not to laugh about on hearing such a ridiculously false statment .. if it were not so disturbing that folks do not have any comprehension of these issues.

Naked facts without interpretations and evaluative opinions.
    1. How many times have prices increased, for example, for timber, metal products (various metals), fertilizers, petroleum products .... etc?
    2. 30% of Americans are confident that the votes in the elections were stolen from Trump. And these are only those who confidently speak about it in polls. (Approximately the same number of supporters, conditionally, of Biden. The rest were undecided. Therefore, we can confidently say that the country is split approximately in half.)
    3. Hordes of crazy people from BLM who destroy monuments and bring even policemen and politicians to their knees.
    4. Inflation, which is literally increasing before our eyes.
    5. Loss of the USA the status of the ONLY superpower. (The world is becoming tripolar, where the centers are Russia, China and the United States. This was announced on Wednesday, November 3, by the head of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milli.)
..... There are 5,6,7,8 more. ...etc. I'm not going to list everything.
But you, as I understand it, do not need arguments. Is not it? You have an alternative perception of reality. .... Well. Ostriches, for example, hide their heads in the sand.

    Prices fluctuate.

It doesn't matter how many Americans tell a pollster that they believe Trump's bullshit. You can find 30% of Americans who believe any crazy thing. Get a load of this:
Study: Americans are as likely to believe in Bigfoot as in the big bang theory
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ieve-in-fortune-telling-astrology-and-ghosts/

We have hordes of crazy people from time to time, but not BLM. BLM was and remains a peaceful social justice movement. Propagandists have sought to tie them to the rioters and looters we saw in the days and weeks after George Floyd's murder, but they weren't representative of BLM and those events are long past us now.

Inflation happens. The Fed and the government have policies to keep it under control and get us through it.

Russia is not a superpower, dream though you will. You don't have the economy or even the population to manage that. China is a significant power, though, so you'd better watch your back.

None of this nonsense you've listed means we're going to need to buy this CEO's bunkers any time soon.

Please note that all the time you mention only a few names of people who have achieved success under capitalism. But why are you silent about the millions of beggars? Those who are kicked out of their homes because their firm has gone bankrupt?
There are many more of them.
Next, you talk about how the military responds excellently to the danger of the enemy. And what is that supposed to mean? Do you believe that someone with a great response to danger is automatically a great economist?
Look at Mike Tyson - great reaction. Is not it? But the question is - is he a good economist?
    Not sure about that.
I could tell you about such a concept as "surplus value" and how capitalists get profit, but this is a long conversation. I can advise you to read certain books for development in this direction. Unless of course you want.
In short, capitalism goes through a certain phase - from competitive supply to imperialism, that is, the monopoly of corporations. Conventionally - a few, let there be, for example, manufacturers of light bulbs, start production and trade.
At the first stage, they compete with each other and sell bulbs at the best price and quality. But after a while, some manufacturers of light bulbs devour others (go bankrupt, buy up their production capacity ... etc.), then the rest begin to compete with each other - in the end, only one remains. Which turns into a corporation. And as a corporation, he begins to dictate his price of goods. (You can see this on the example of pharmaceutical companies, when drugs for without any reasons increase in price dozens of times.)
In general .... further inevitably happens a division of spheres of influence. But "capital," by definition, is self-increasing value. In other words, capital cannot but grow. (he will not devour, they will devour him). And this, in turn, will lead to a war of corporations, and since in a capitalist society oligarchs are the ruling class, or the war of corporations is a real world war.
And what is happening now coincides with frightening accuracy with what happened on the eve of the First World War.
In addition, as I wrote above, there are objective reasons for the change in the socio-political system. I repeat - there was feudalism. Then the steam engine was invented. There was an economic need for the free movement of goods, labor and capital. The feudal system began to interfere with the development of society. There was a change from feudalism to capitalism (at that moment a progressive social and political system.)
Today, technology has reached such a level that robots are replacing humans in the production of many goods and services. And this process is only growing. Under capitalism, society cannot develop further. It is necessary to change the social and political formation. And a change is inevitable, whether we like it or not.

Sorry, if you only earn subsistence wages, you should have stayed in school, got a USEFUL degree or attained a USEFUL trade. Folks with engineering degrees (like me), electricians, lawyers (like my wife and son) do not think anyone is ripping them off. They are very happy with their jobs and success. I never hear them constantly whine and complain like so many here.

I'm doing just fine financially. There are many who are not. I am more concerned with leveling the playing field to benefit all of society than just the upper class. What do you think would happen if everyone got an advanced degree? Those degrees would become worthless, because there are only so many of those jobs around, and there are tons of subsistence wage jobs that need to be filled. The answer for society as a whole is not to educate everyone, but to make all jobs have income equal to the energy exerted in doing them. There should not be more reward for being a CEO than a construction worker. The CEO does not pay laborers based on energy expended, as should be the case, but instead pays them subsistence, with the excess energy beyond subsistence then placed in the CEO's own pocket. It is unsustainable in the long run, especially now that we are reaching the limits of growth for this planet.

This is an illusion. No one will give up power without a fight. And modern oligarchs will never give up power without a fight. They will be ready to sell themselves to foreign invaders, destroy the country, kill millions ... but they will never quite part with power and money voluntarily.
See the historical experience of any country. For example, the classic is Russia. Opponents of the Bolsheviks sold their country to the interventionists, in an attempt to maintain power, read about the "white terror", how the mercenaries of those oligarchs exterminated their people. They didn't care about their people.
Do you think that modern oligarchs are other?
It was only in the struggle that the working people won their rights.

Why isn't capitalist Mexico on your list? Or Haiti? Where is the capitalist Sera Leone? And if you write it correctly, the question is - where would you prefer to live - in Cuba or Haiti?

You obviously come from a different world than most of us. I'm an old guy. The only beggars I ever met were kids who had their fingers cut off by their parents to make more effective beggars on the American Bridge on the way to Juarez. I have met a few panhandlers in America, all looking well fed, all with iPhones and such. I have no idea where you live but it sure isn't typical. We do have folks in trouble sometimes though. Just last night my wife and I were in SUBWAY and a decrepit old lady came in and asked about sandwhich prices. You could see her even more ancient husband waiting in the car. She inquired about a ham and cheese sandwhich. It was obviously too expensive for her so she asked what it would be if she only got bread and cheese. My wife bought her two huge ham and cheese with double meat and double cheese. It was a good thing. So I would suggest that somewhere between no charity and freebies for all there is a happy medium. And it does NOT include stealing from successful people to pay for a free ride for bums. And by bums I do NOT mean the really needy that SHOULD be helped. I mean the able bodied, lazy bums who just want a free ride in life.

Your world seems to filled with "beggars" and "victims". I would suggest you get out more. Americans generally thrive and succeed. But you have to TRY.

Your alleged "exposure" of conspiracy theories is, in fact, a conspiracy theory - only the opposite. Anything you don't like, you call a conspiracy theory?
By the way, your article does not justify anything. This is one word against another. No more.

Economists are technicians. They need a decisive, dedicated leader to take their data and act on it.

Debt and government corruption is responsible for the state of the world today. It affects everything… private sector, public sector, environment, social issues, wars… everything.

in case you havnt noticed, the country is on the verge of tearing itself apart because it is so polarized. The wealth gap between the haves and have nots is increasing faster than ever. Climate change is accelerating, with July of this year being the hottest global temps recorded since records have been kept, tensions between nations as resources are dwindling, etc etc etc.

Debt and government corruption is at the root of pretty much all of it.
