So basically Trump's 'policies' was covid? Because gas went up his whole presidency, went down for 3 months, then climbed righ back up, and then covid hit. Not really seeing his policies there
You defeated yourself with your own line-graph. Under Trump, the prices fluctuated both up and down. Look at the huge dip in prices in 2018 and 2019. Now look at 2021. The minute Biden swears in, the prices go way higher than Trumps entire 4 years. Biden accomplished that literally instantly, and he’s only 1 year in. I think it’s reasonable to assume we are going to be at $5-7 a gallon by the time Biden is done. And I’m not talking about California.
Yes, expected supplies affect current prices. Expected new taxes and fees affect prices today. Expected new regulations and restrictions affect prices today. And administration affiliated politicians pledging to shutdown the industry affect prices today.
No. I have already listed Trump's policies, and they worked very well to keep gas prices low throughout his term.
So you are having issues interpreting the graph that was provided to you then? Gas prices were the lowest at the start of his term and during COVID. They rose during the middle and towards the end of his term. He never beat the price that was at the end of Obama’s term.
in alaska, the oil companies were waiting for the govs. ok to start drilling. biden said no! fracking shut down by biden, drilling on public lands shut down by biden. pipelines being constructed, or working pipelines, like pipeline 5 from ill to st. louis now under biden threat to shut down. this is causing the fuel shortage today. under trump, the president go (begging) to opec for oil and n.g.. but now under biden--we do! europe depends on oil from the m.e. & russia, slowing shipping of that oil is causing their shortage. the u.s. didn't have that problem with producing (our own) oil and n.g.. under trump. but under bidens shut down orders now we have shortages. i hope you understand what i am posting. it is very simple imv. can you show me how "you" think the shortage started? if you say thay shut down production at refineries, because of the wuhan virus. all they have to do is open them up again, takes a week to restart refining oil again.
your chart is slightly off. how? simple this is a chart of mainly east & west coasts. not the mid west or the south, or the plains states. where i live, i never saw any prices per gal over 1.90. during the time trump was in office. only in 2021 did the price per gal start to rise. now we're pushing 2.90 per gal. so you can push this chart all you want. but it never happen in my area of the nation till biden got into office. no offence ment, just stating the facts from my area. ok?
i think you should look carefully at the (small case) letters i'm using. they are not caps, and are not yelling. sorry you feel annoyed, but that's the way it is. i also get annoyed alot. but not anything i can do about it. so just go on with life. your choice.
So you don’t understand what the word AVERAGE means then? If I bold and blow it up can you comprehend it now?
So you clearly do not understand how averages work. Probably because you think that the world revolves around you since clearly you have only considered the prices at the pump where you live and not where the vast majority of americans live. But even if you chose to look at it from your microscopic vision, you are STILL WRONG!! Here is a website with prices at the pump, feel free to enter whatever plain state you are from, and you will see that the results are still going to be the same in fluctuation, and there is absolutely nowhere that gas stays under 1.90 for his presidency. Nowhere. SHould be simple for you to prove me wrong. I just gave you the website. And yes your bolds are really annoying. PLease stop using them. They really are just rude
Obviously “the minute” is an exaggeration. Everyone knows exactly what I’m talking about. 1-2 months into Biden, the gas prices start to sky rocket.
False. Why would you make stuff like that up? I know what the gas prices were in December 2020 and January 2021… they were NOT on the rise at all.
Not sure the source of your graph, but that’s not true where I live. I know what gas prices were because I pay for it.

It was only foolish from your perspective. Since it was a political activity, Biden considers it very positive. It makes some people think he is doing some good.
on the bold small case letters? answer --no! cleared with admin. so your problem. state= ill. but get gas in mo. much cheaper than ill, and have watched gas prices for over 4 years. only now in mo. pushing now today $2.90 per gal. use your chart all you want. i see reality in the prices i pay for gas. so is reality of the prices for gas at the pump, -wrong? or your charts. charts can easily be rigged to show what ever you want to prove. but the price at the pump, is real. i believe what i see on the pump, and pay at the time of refilling my tank. ah! you need a web site? to prove the price at the pump? not me. i see that price when i fill my tank, and the cost of filling my tank. believe your charts and web sites. i believe what the pump says, and my cost of filling my tank. old saying== seeing is believing.--- but your choice to believe what you want.
Here's another website for you https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=EMM_EPMRR_PTE_YORD_DPG&f=W Once again, remember that the conversation was about gas prices in the United States. One needs a common base to have a conversation about this. You seem to have a magical gas pump where under Trump, the prices never went above 1.90. You now have two pretty serious sources that verify that in the state of Illinois, the price of gas did stay for a long time above 1.90. So, I can actually use the best sources at hand with which to use facts to make my arguments, OR I can blindly beleive what some old guy tells me over the interweb with zero verifications. Of course sometimes, one needs local sources for facts. But since the conversation is about gas prices in the United States and Illinois if you prefer (but as you can verify from the two sited I provided, they contradict your statement) your magical gas station that defied all market prices in the US and illinois over 4 years, not following any of the trends that were exactly the same throughout the country, is really irrelevant. As to your bold, large, font. You have been told repeatedly that this is perceived as yelling by users here (and please, 'yelling' online is just a difference of font choices. No one is actually screaming. So all caps or not is not the issue). Obviously, and unsurprisingly, considering your amount of self involvement ('hey, gas prices are magically down at my magical gas pump, it MUST be the same everywhere else') you chose to completely ignore that, and instead decided to lawyer up and get permission to do exactly what you wanted regardless of how it was perceived (because obviously; who cares about anyone else). This place isn't exactIy the world's HQ of etiquette so just another rude poster isn't exactly a shocker. guess you wanted to bless us with your deep thoughts in really big, bold font. Uhm. I think I'll pass. Congratulations on being the first person I am putting on 'ignore'.
