using those new nukes is unthinkable. the sooner we stop building things that will destroy our own planet the sooner we can claim all the "exceptional" and "indispensable" bs.

My evidence is solid, yours is simply misinformation fed to you by the msm.

the left is so busy grieving over a pedo killed by someone defending themselves because of politics they can’t even grieve for the 8 year old killed at the parade. Your outrage is so singular focused on political perspective, it’s quite unfortunate.

and y’all still made race an issue in the KR case despite it not being involved at all.

the pattern of behavior for racism, and race baiting behavior on the left is beyond question.

RodB, if America has been at word for 225 years of the 243 years since the country was founded ( that number might be different since the calculation was made, but not that much different ) then saying 'we've been piss poor at avoiding war' is a reasonable statement.

Now, whether it's 222, or 223, out or 243, or 239, these numbers change, depending on your calculation, but not by much.

    So what? .

    What is a republic?

A republic is a government of either appointed, or elected, leaders, this is as opposed to a land owning monarch or dictatorship.

    So, what kind of republic?

    Islamic?
    Calvinist?
    Socialist?

    OR DEMOCRATIC?

We are a constitutional republic, noting 'constitutional republic' and 'representative democracy' and 'liberal democracy' are NOT mutually exclusive terms.

There is no country that has ever existed that is more tolerant, stronger, better economically, scientifically or just better than the U.S.

Yet that won’t save us from the clutches of the race baiting left. They will destroy our nation.

    some people will do something

Oh, and I'm sure all those libertarian conservatives love the fact that half of medical and scientific research and development is funded by the government.

    Give me break.

If our country were run by libertarians and conservatives for more than a term here and there, we'd be up Schitt's Creek in no time.

Incorrect, we would be far better off.

Hell, the current regime is the perfect example of dems in power. Nothing but authoritarianism, higher prices, more suffering across the board.

I have no trouble thinking about it.

And speaking of using nukes, the Obama Administration developed tactical nukes that have a small clean yield and extremely good accuracy so they can land direct hits on military targets with little collateral damage.

They are the ultimate in usable nukes.

We are not going to stop building weapons to protect ourselves.

We are also not going to stop being proud of our country.

Oh yeah, nothing spells 'authoritarianism' than Trump telling 74 million americans, for over a year, week after week, at every rally, on every appearance on television, that the only way democrats can win is to rig the election, before any ballot was ever cast, that democrats are stealing the election, that they are committing fraud, that they intend on destroying America, that they intend on eliminating the right to own a gun, a narrative so wrong, so untruthful, a heinous rhetoric to a degree of which was hitherto unheard of by any candidate in history, is propaganda commensurate with authoritarianism, for
It created the mantra, the welling anger, the volcanic juggernaut that erupted on Jan 6, a directed mission to 'stop the steal' and resulted in millions in damage and 5 - 7 deaths.

Oh yeah, nothing spells 'authoritarianism' more than Trump's continuous incendiary acts, comments, mentions, speeches, on 1/6, and back covering over a period of many months, of which the predominant message was 'democrats stole the election' and that lie began before the first ballot was cast, inculcated in the minds and hearts of his follows long and hard, to such an extent, that it caused a welling up of what can rightfully be characterized as a juggernaut of rage, erupting in volcanic fashion on 1/6, resulting in several deaths and millions of worth of property damaged, some property stolen, and trespassing of the offices of congresspersons and senators and the terrorizing of persons thereby, and the delay of several hours of the constitutional proceedings.

It's called 'seditious conspiracy' a veritable coup, which is 100% commensurate with authoritarianism.

And don't bother comparing this to BLM riots, which were NOT inspired by the president of the united states against the seat of democracy. It's not about $ in damages, it's about damage to American democracy. There is no greater threat to American Democracy than the current iteration of the GOP.

This is a false justification for the race and religious discrimination and violence against those who come here, but also those who have been here for generations.
This is just a blatant attempt at justifying discrimination on false pretenses.
Whether true in the past or not, Roosevelt's comments clearly ignore that the violent race hatred, the discrimination, etc., that we see today has nothing to do with people not "properly" assimilating themselves.

Those whose lives are impacted include those from families that have been living here for many generations. And, the fact is that we're fully capable as a nation of ignoring when they are not just discriminated against, but are in fact murdered.

His suggestion that there is divided allegiance is not supportable, and is used as a false justification for those bent on serious discrimination, including violence against individual citizens.

His suggestion that there can be only one language is not good enough. The USA is and has benefitted from being a melting pot. And, the English language facility of those who have come here may be fine for everyday use, but is not necessarily sufficient to understand our government communications, our health care, etc., in the detail that is clearly necessary. Besides, we have a major tourist industry that is damaged by any notion of intolerance of language.

And coming as it does after stating justifications for excluding US citizens of various descriptions, his suggestion of loyalty to the "American people" carries a strong odor of suggesting that there are citizens who are rightly to be excluded.

And again, that is just not acceptable.

Tactical nukes are the gateway drug to nuclear war. If we use those nukes, there is no possible justification for others not using theirs.

And, that is what makes it important for Iran and others to develop nuclear weapons.

Having America be proud of crafting a world of nuclear arms is moral depravity.

Broader nuclear war is where those bigger nukes that I referred to earlier come into the picture.

It is illegal for Iran and others to develop nuclear weapons.

Additionally, given Iran's support for terrorism, war crimes, and general all around evil, it is a bad idea to allow them to do so.

We are not responsible for what the rest of the world does. But there is no reason for us to not be proud of what we do. We are not perfect, but we are clearly one of the good guys.

Amen. I see the decline in the tiny land masses filled with large cities. But the other 90 plus % of he U.S. is doing just fine. Sometimes I feel like an outsider in my own country. Everything looks pretty good from my perspective. I don't enter large cities for any reason.

We are responsible for moving the world closer to requiring countries to develop nuclear arms. We claim these arms as being a deterrent. And, that is an argument that justifies the nuclear arms industry of every other country.

Our ability to contribute to decisions on what is legal or illegal for Iran or other nations to do does not come without a requirement that we join world wide institutions that favor proscription of nuclear weapons or that we form treaties that include Iran and others that include such proscription.

For years now the US has HATED that.

Thus, claims of Iran being illegal are really just plain BS.

There are lots of "good guys". And, we are tarnishing our own self-awarded gold stars when we tolerate violent racism, when we assault our own democracy by working to deny equality of representation, when even elected officials take part in violent revolutionary insurgency as Jan 6 and continue to defend THAT as American (instead of democracy), when we support the humanitarian atrocities of Israel, when we promote nuclear weapons instead of diplomacy, etc.

America knows what is better, as can be seen by reading our founding documents. We should be perpetually proud of that. But, claiming we walk that walk is more complicated. There are lots of "good guys".

This is just silly, There is no line like that.

Turn it around. What would WE do if someone uses small nukes on us?

Let's say they used a small nuclear weapon to carefully eliminate the NYC financial district.

Other countries are not required to develop nuclear weapons. If they choose to do so, they are responsible for their own decisions. We are not to blame for what other countries decide to do.

But we were still doing it despite disliking it. We've been drawing down our nukes for some time now.

We are only starting to build our weapons back up because it is clear that foreign aggression makes it necessary.

The law is clear. The Non Proliferation Treaty forbids them from having nuclear weapons.

Good grief. Let's not start a political discussion. They get so tedious.

Israel does not commit any atrocities. They merely defend themselves from an implacable enemy who refuses to ever make peace with them.

It's not a matter of either/or. The proper course is to promote both weapons and diplomacy.

I agree that we aren't perfect. But we certainly aren't the bad guys.

I'm not sure what you mean. The line between tactical and strategic nukes?

The tactical nukes will not be used against any financial districts. They are designed for destroying Russian troop formations that have invaded the EU.

When WE claim to be creating more nukes for deterrence, we are setting a standard that others absolutely do have to consider.
Reducing the number of times we can kill all life on Earth is a "drawdown", but it is meaningless in terms of ANY rational perspective.

And, building more nukes IS an nuclear arms escalation at a time where we are doing little to promote other methods of conflict resolution. It is us preferring nuclear arms over negotiation.
We're also essentially in violation, as the pillars of the NPT include disarmament as the driving force and as the second pillar of the treaty.

Instead, we are escalating, as you point out.

The result is that those that don't have such weapons see the NPT as little more than a method of the haves working to maintain nuclear enforced supremacy.
This is ABSOLUTELY false. Their perpetual war against Gaza, running it as an open air prison, while refusing all negotiation has NO legitimacy.

Their ethnic cleansing of West Bank IS a humanitarian atrocity that is clearly carried out for financial benefit.
We are escalating nuclear arms, not diplomacy.
OK, then say we aren't the "bad guys".
Yes - there is no line between tactical and strategic nukes when some nation starts using nuclear weapons of any size.

The point about NYC is in support of the absence of such a line.

If someone were to use a tactical nuke to wipe out the NYC financial district, we would NOT limit our response to tactical nuclear weapons. And, no other country would, either.

Their response might be limited in some way, but NOT because there is some line in size of weapons.

And, our decision to ONCE AGAIN use nuclear weapons would NEVER be forgotten throughout human history.

We were in Yugoslavia, in Syria when Obama armed the terrorists to (try to) remove Assad, and we were with the illegal 2014 coup in Ukraine. That's enough. You shouldn't swallow the fake news whole.

Russia will never invade the EU, unless the EU has invaded first, ala Nazi Germany.

The Cold War has been over for decades. Now, Russia is on the right path and we are not....at least not when the neo cons, RINOS and Democrats in charge.

Russia is taking a highly aggressive stance in Eastern Europe.

Our move to reenergize our nuclear arms development and manufacturing IS a cold war escalation.

The US right wing pushed hard to do what you call "arm the terrorists" in Syria. The problem there was that the locals had a significant number of militias, each with slightly different objectives. When we aided any one of them, the aid tended to get shared between the militias - some of whom we opposed. And, just about 100% of the fighters there were those from the region, not western forces.

No US political group had a superior solution for Syria. And, remember that Bush43 put Assad's government on the US "regime change" list in 2001. The problem got worse, obviously, but there was way more than a decade of the US not having an answer. In fact, there is no real answer today.

Our efforts have resulted in the Taliban owning Afghanistan and Iraq and Syria being strategically aligned with Iran.

Russia ain't doing ****. Let's put that to bed right now. Are the Russians sailing warships off the Texas coast in the Gulf of Mexico? Are the Russians arming the Mexicans or training the Mexicans? NO and NO.

But the US is sailing in the Black Sea just off Russia's coast....and the Black Sea ain't quite an easily accessible ocean either. The US is arming the Nazi-Led Kiev government that is in power because of the US led 2014 illegal coup. The Nazi-Led Kiev government is in the business of ethnic Russian genocide in the Donbass. You okay with your tax dollars funding Nazis??

SO who the **** is the aggressor here?

I've been to Ukraine 6 or 7 times in the last 4 years and I've been to Russia 7 times as well. If you actually went there, then you'd see this for what it is. Ukraine is the armpit of Europe. Moldova is actually worse but Moldova isn't ripping off US taxpayers looking for free ****...that is funneled to corrupt oligarchs. Ukraine is.

Nobody said everyone wants to come here.

But the fact remains that tons of people risk their lives to get to the US and tons more are on waiting lists. There's a reason for it too.

It's also a fact that there aren't droves of people risking their lives to get out of this country either.

When you look at facts and facts only, they speak for themselves.
