That distinction may not be clear in chaotic situations like people being shot. The point being the self defense laws give folks like Kyle far too much license in killing people he/she claims to feel threatened by.
But again, the problem is less about subjective emotions like feeling threatened than about the presence of guns in public settings.

I agree that it was a disgrace that someone supplied him with the gun and I agree that it was very unwise for Kyle to have gone into a left wing WAR ZONE with an assault rifle, but you still haven't said what you think
Kyle should have done when he was approached by the child rapist and what he should have done when he found himself on the ground being engaged by the other two guys above him. I just find that VERY telling!

As a former owner of several bars and nightclubs, there was an old saying. If there is a guy with a knife, back away or run, then deal with the situation from a safe distance. if there is a guy with a gun, either shoot him if you are armed or charge him and get the gun. Reason being that the guy with the gun can run, then turn around and start shooting again. Disarming a live shooter is a good deal for everyone.

The guy in Las Vegas was shooting from a hotel window. Not even close to Rittenhouse case. Questions like this are one of the reasons I asserted that you are really no good at this. You are all over the place. Whether this is a sleazy tactic to divert from the subject or that you are really clueless enough to think it is relevant, I do not know.

You are certainly doing a lot of projecting here based on your feelings and not facts. We send kids this age into war zones.

So you actually do not make a distinction between Rittenhouse and the Las Vegas shooter! Wow! :roflol:

Yes, you've made it most clear that you're terrified of guns and hate the Second Amendment.

You would shoot someone just because they had a gun?

Still, I'm guessing that you wouldn't have wanted your kid to have gone into Kenosha that night.

    Was Kyle a "live shooter?"

To be fair, @jack4freedom specified "live shooter."

Of course not but many parents are not aware what their teenagers do. I didn’t want my daughter to join the Marines but had no say in it.

Then can you see why the trial resulting in no consequence for obtaining the gun or the fatal decision to arm himself with it is seen in some circles as a travesty of justice?
Do you think we as a society need to revisit gun possession and self defense laws?

And is there a problem with that?

How the hell do you know that?

Just like Obama pardoned people. You just LIKE Obama!

Never had to. Usually when you rack one home with a Mossburg 500, the guy freezes. However if it was being pointed at me or anyone else I would be prepared to shoot.

Just killed someone and running away with his gun...Damn right, the definition of a live shooter.

It appears you have a reading comprehension issue. Either that or when faced with an argument that challenges your's you rely on a straw man response in order to misrepresent the position of those you are debating with. Cuz that was the second time in the last 20 minutes you did it.

He was alive and shot an attacker so live shooter would mean that.

    Maybe you mean active shooter.

It seemed that many of those on the scene considered him a dangerous element and rightly so. He had just killed one man and was still armed and running around their neighborhood, heavily armed. I think a good case can be made that trying to attack and disarm him was a reasonable reaction to the situation. I look forward to the civil wrongful death trial.

Which will fail. Vigilantism is not legal. Attacking someone you ‘think’ is dangerous isn’t legal.

The issue isn't about Obama's pardons because he didn't not pardon people who had information about criminal acts for which he was being investigated.....as Trump did. Do you ever tire of false analogies?

Mueller documented numerous efforts by Trump and his associates that prevented his team from gathering the evidence that it sought. Despite Attorney General William Barr’s characterization of the White House as “fully cooperative with the Special Counsel’s investigation,” the Mueller report paints a different picture. Mueller wrote about numerous instances in which witnesses lied or withheld information, deleted communications and used encrypted messaging applications. Other practical obstacles prevented Mueller from completing his investigation, including some witnesses’ refusal to answer questions on the basis of their Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination, other legal privileges and the inability to obtain evidence located overseas.

In an important but somewhat overlooked passage, the Mueller report states that in light of these “identified gaps,” in the evidence, “the Office cannot rule out the possibility that the unavailable information would shed additional light on (or cast in a new light) the events described in the report.” That is, the obstruction may have worked.

Mueller found “substantial evidence” to support multiple counts of obstruction of justice, including 10 episodes involving President Donald Trump interfering with the investigation.

No he didn’t. He made accusations but the whole Mueller effort was to create obstruction charges since they knew from the beginning there was no Russia collusion.

Excuse me. Defending your life isn’t a crime and neither was carrying a rifle. So let’s toss that **** out the window now please or I won’t respond to you again. DO NOT THINK YOU CAN LIE TO ME!!! If you’re ignorant of the law that’s on YOU. And Arbury would have been armed if he managed to get the gun, but what was said that made him fight so quickly? If he felt he was going to be executed on the street in his own neighborhood in front of neighbors and witnesses, who knows. The schmucks didn’t know he was running from a neighbor he just robbed. They were stupid and jumped to conclusions and it turned into fight or flight in both cases and there was no where else to fly to. One was armed and the other wasn’t. If they just wanted to shoot the black guy, they could have easily shot him and ran. They had good intentions but were stupid. The guys attacking Rittenhouse were ALREADY RIOTING. Any good intentions they can claim are BS when you’re burning down a city. Sorry. They were all total pieces of crap.

I don’t necessarily agree that a guy holding a phone is guilty of murder, but what can you do. Are the people who record a woman getting abused or raped on a bus also guilty of rape or just being apathetic and not getting involved? If Good Samaritan laws protected people a little more, maybe more people would be willing to get involved if they see something bad happening.

Really....how about shooting and killing someone you think is a threat to you even though he is much smaller and unarmed and you got a semi automatic weapon? That’s what your hero did. Those that were trying to disarm Rittenhouse had rights that day too. You saying it will fail isn’t worth squat. You are one of this kid’s biggest fan boys. The issue in any civil case will be weather or not Rittenhouse’s and the imbecile that bought him the gun, loaded it up and brought him there are in any way responsible for Mr. Huber’s death. Burden of proof in a case like that is not beyond a reasonable doubt but preponderance of evidence. The evidentiary rules are much different too. Many pieces of evidence that the prosecution was not allowed to bring up in the criminal trial will be admitted in a civil trial. The judge in the criminal trial may as well have been sitting at the defense table holding little Kyles hand. A whole different set of issues will be decided in any civil trial.

    1) Maybe when Papa Cracker screamed, stop ******, I’ll blow your fvcking head off...Then cracker 3 cut him off with his truck and he was “trapped like a rat” according to Cracker Junior, the kid might have thought his best chance of staying alive was to get the gun from Junior and killing the other two scumbags. Who knows?

    2) The schmucks did not know he robbed anyone. They hunted him down, threatened him and killed him. I hope they all rot in jail and get their asses beat every day too. Good for them.
