Ethan Crumbly: "Just got my new beauty today. SIG SAUER 9mm,"

That's how gun nuts sound to regular people. The love for the weapon of mass killing. Now, most people who talk about their guns with loving devotion will never shoot up anything. It is still f***ing weird.

Now you are arguing with yourself.
Again: Surely you know that crime stats are fudged in the UK.
    Or don't you know that?

Why don't you explain how someone being shot and killed can be a fudge? Are bodies full of bullet holes vanishing into thin air and so not counted?

Sad, so many lives destroyed. Just because of one stupid action of buying a gun.

Those parent are criminally responsible for giving that kid a weapon. And they knew he was unhinged, he’d been seen by staff for threats recently.
    That’s **** parenting for certain.

If his parents are on the run ......... they are certainly NOT exemplary , responsible "parents". Seem that there is a lot of family dysfunction there.

There were a lot more stupid actions involved than buying a gun.

How dare this sheriff do this? Why should the parents be deprived of their sacred right to have any number and type of guns they want just because their child was disturbed? How could they know he'd hurt someone with them just because that is what they are for and their only real designed function? [/satire]

They were **** parents from the start. They knew he had mental issues and bought him a gun, I hope they throw the jail on top of them.

Because it's illegal. You'd know this if you read any penal codes or civil statutes. They have many functions, but you only see what you want to see and cannot be reasoned with. On purpose.

Like here they had...what? Target shooting with the kid's hallucinations? Giving him something to make him feel better after nightmares?

I'd say we should feel lucky he didn't kill the parents but actually most people wish he had.

Pistols have tons of uses. That has nothing to do with the stupidity of these parents, which is legendary.

Well, actually shooting a bunch of people has got to be stupider, right?

Some of the school administration's questions on discipline and response are looking fairly dumb at this point too.

And then there's the kids that decided to bully Ethan. In hindsight, probably not their brightest move to bully the weird loner.

There are probably more too, but those are the ones that come to mind immediately.

Except, nobody would be talking about any of that, if the parents hadn't bought the gun. Of course, you want to deflect from that simple fact.

There are obviously lots of different points that could have changed the course of events so that the shooting didn't happen. Your infatuation with the gun purchase, as one link in a long chain of events, says more about you and your objectives than the reality of the event.

Did the kid have access to a huge SUV? We know there are many ways to kill people besides using a gun.

    "
OXFORD, MIch. (FOX 2) - UPDATE (4:15 p.m.): The parents of teen shooting suspect Ethan Crumbley are returning to the area for their arraignment according to attorneys Shannon Smith and Mariell Lehman.

Previously a Be On the Lookout alert had been issued for James and Jennifer Crumbley, the parents of the accused Oxford High School shooter.

"The Crumbleys left town on the night of the tragic shooting for their own safety. They are returning to the area to be arraigned. They are not fleeing from law enforcement despite recent comments in media reports," the attorneys said in a statement.

The attorneys said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald had been contacted Thursday night and informed her then that the Crumbleys would be coming back to the metro area.

"Instead of communicating with us, the prosecutor held a press conference to announce charges," the statement said.

Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe said they were not aware of what charges or when it would be coming down from the prosecutor's office.

He said if they would have had a better timeline, they would have had a better surveillance plan in place for the Crumbleys.

Friday afternoon a statewide BOLO was issued for the Crumbleys, just hours after they were charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the Oxford High School shootings.

According to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, on Thursday night, they were in the early stages of the investigation and there was no certainty that they would face charges so the Crumbleys were not under surveillance. Bouchard said when it looked like charges would be issued, investigators began the surveillance process."

I heard that sheriff earlier today being asked about why they hadn't arrested them first and he seemed to be saying he was totally blindsided by this DA, that it would have been better if she had worked with them and they could have already prepared for an immediate arrest. And their attorney is saying the same thing. Not that I am supporting them in any way other than I can't blame them for leaving that town for their own safety. Why did the DA put it out they were fleeing and issued a BOLA if in fact she had talked to their attorney Thursday night about them surrendering at the arraignment?

And why should we believe he wouldn't have used some other weapon? He was seeking vengeance and I have no reason to believe he would not have tried to satisfy that by any means possible.
