    Dems still have a party platform representing their core beliefs and goals for the country. Repubs jettisoned the notion of a new platform during the 2020 convention because Prince Jared wanted to re-write the platform in the image of Trumpery. An idea that was rejected.

    the op might have made more sense if it did not say clams of nepotism in the White House under Trump was partly false

    I'm only concerned with local politics these days ... most of them where I live claim to be unaffiliated .. TBD I guess but I can easily see that most have business interests that determine their policies ... I'm just sick of the whole system ...

    I don't think it matters which team had their asshat do something less bad than the other.

    The lessor of two evils is still evil. Yeah, a cliché, but it also happens to be true.

    Trump did this. Well, Pelosi did that, and Mitch did that other thing and Reed did another shitty thing.

    They ALL suck.

    I think this incessant arguing about "My team is less bad than your team," is the reason it will never change.

    As I've said, the Republic will collapse long before the extremes on both sides stop being in charge. The elected clowns in DC have the American people right where they need us. Afraid of a bogeyman that doesn't truly exist, except in the minds of extremists.

    Something to consider is that once part of the group you must deal with start using childish tactics and get away with it- soon both sides will. There are rules for conduct of politicians, and none of them are being followed, because none of them are enforced. That is an example to the rest of the country- Rules are cosmetic and random, so there really are no rules, and everyone can act like a jackass.

    This mentality is present in critical areas like our press, our universities, is now seeping into all levels of education, into everything everywhere. The root cause- is that the people who make the rules aren't willing to live by the rules they make- so many people say there are no rules at all. We need to change that, starting with the rule makers themselves.
