As much as I understand concern over possible future terrorist attacks this kind of treatment wasn't called for. Sould he receive compensation? Do interrogation standards need to be tightened on what is acceptable:

His ordeal was captured in this excellent, gripping, movie. One of the best if not the best movie I have seen the past couple of years.

And how about a compensation for a tax payers? We paid $80 millions for a two geniuses who invented this non-torture method.

CIA Paid Torture Teachers More Than $80 Million
Psychologists who developed interrogation techniques for the CIA signed a contract for $180 million and were paid $81 million before termination.

The movie is based on the accounts of the alleged victim who is a terrorist. Hardly proof of anything. Glad the movie was entertaining.

You already believe what terrorists say. Whatever parts of the official narratives for 911 and its Global War Of Terror you believe illustrate that. Whatever parts you believe of official pronouncements regarding the Scamdemic illustrate you believe what terrorists tell you.

Your post here suggests you are not familiar with, or do not care about, the Geneva Conventions. Have we treated those at Gitmo in accordance with Geneva Conventions?

It takes a huge leap to think you know what I believe or disbelieve. I support the Geneva Conventions. The terrorists are not signatories nor do I believe what they say. Sorry.

Good, glad to hear it. The posts you've made here strongly suggest you believe quite a few official narratives. I cannot recall reading your posts about the matter of Gitmo and how our policy and actions there violate Geneva and other international agreements.

I guess you support Julian Assange?

Of course I cannot remember all your posts on all topics over the years, but it seems you've supported several official narratives. I hope I'm wrong.

I disbelieve government unless what it says is validated in the private sector. Occasionally the government is correct. The Geneva convention has nothing to do with Gitmo. It is written for signatories to the conventions.

Not really. I like the idea of uncovering government corruption but his methodology is not journalism. It is politics. I don't support politics.

I'm sure I have. As I said, occasionally government is correct.

Geneva has nothing to do with our actions at Gitmo? Isn't the US signatory to Geneva? When I was in the Army we were. Did George Bush rescind our signature to Geneva?

Yes we are a signatory and are bound to follow the convention with other signatories.

    (excerpt)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
But Mohamedou Ould Slahi, who spent almost 14 years at Guantánamo and says he was brutally beaten and threatened with execution without ever being charged with a crime, has some advice for his onetime captors: Come clean about what was done to the detainees there, and transfer those accused of committing the Sept. 11 attacks to the United States so they can be openly tried in a court of law.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

The government knows that those prisoners had nothing to do with the 9-11 attacks. The proof that the attacks were an inside job is crushing.

There are people from the Arab world who have declared war against the United States because it has been stealing their oil for years. Whenever there's imperialism, there's going to be a terrorist reaction. Those prisoners have probably committed terrorist act against their oppressors but they didn't do 9-11.

    What a joke of a post --

    1) I would believe a terrorist over the Pentagon - and this guy wasn't a terrorist ...
    2) Geneva has everything to do with Gitmo ..
    3) Assange is called "Freedom of Speech" "Freedom of Information" Freedom of the press ... ruled so in "Dems vs Trump and Russia .. the ones engaging in politics is the US .. Assange a political prisoner.

Another joke of a post .. So .. they tortured everyone else .. but didn't torture this guy ... and those folks that they tortured .. no worries .. as torture is OK if it is a suspected terrorist.

The Goblins were nice to Snowden though .. when he offered to come to the US to face the music one the condition of a fair trial .. as opposed to the kangaroo clown show .. the Goblin's refuse .. but they did promise not to torture him.

Our opinions differ as usual. I agree he is a political prisoner. I didn't say otherwise. I said what he did was not journalism.
