No, not at all. Melania was offered many, many magazine covers. The issue is that she wanted the cover, but any magazine putting someone on the cover requires an interview. She didn't like that part.
How is this thread an example of Humor & Satire? Why is it stickied? It's unpopular, just like her husband, and it's meant simply to unironically brownnose Joe Biden's wife. Psychoanalytically, perhaps unconsciously, the OP knows that compliments of Jill Biden, due to how pathetic she is, are actual forms of irony, and therefore that fits the model of humor and satire, and the mods are simply showcasing the OP's wit, which is more of a Freudian slip than something consciously thought out in their full awareness. Genius.
The OP was 5 years ago to laud madam T**** but the first, the very first post mind you, was the best picture of her vs the worst of Michelle Obama. Because it was so petty a similar response was made. As you can see from the post prior to yours the pettiness continues five years later. Do not blame the current first lady for the past sins. But yes, now that we have a first lady rather than a first model it would be best to let this thread die.
It's amazing how loving, educated, engaged FLOTUSes are basically ridiculed for living the values they espouse going so far as to question one's birth gender and calling the other one names for a poor choice in attire while out helping in her community. However, the vapid, useless lesbian porn model who complained about the awful and stupid task of overseeing holiday decor in the White House and serves no function is held up as something other than what she is - a high priced call girl. No wonder our (collectively) children's values are so skewed.
Unfair, neither Melania nor Michelle deserve the abuse they get from the other side. At least Jill Biden doesn't seem to offend anyone.
The tit-for-tat is exhausting, frankly. It was painfully obvious that Melania did not enjoy being FLOTUS. She took a lot of abuse. It was payback. It's sad where we are. There's not much of anything negative that can be said about our current FLOTUS. I think the worst I've seen is that she insists that people call her Dr.
No, this thread should thrive. Jill Biden's doctorate is essentially apocryphal, considering the circumstances in which she got it, namely, for example, that her husband was a US Senator of the state in which the University of Delaware is located, and there is, in fact, a--I'm not kidding--Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy & Administration. But I am sure they were completely unbiased when they reviewed her dissertation. Had she gotten her doctorate before she became the wife of a US Senator, I would argue her doctorate was granted in bona fides. However, considering the laughably outrageous circumstances in which she got her doctorate and how grotesquely she parades it, it's nothing but pure comedy. This thread is a textbook example of dramatic irony, in which those lauding Jill Biden unironically extol her education without understanding how absurd they make themselves look, even though the audience recognizes how absurd the whole display is. No, no, keep this thread alive. Keep it going. I've finally understood why it is in the Humor & Satire subforum, after all! Don't take away this comedy gold. We need this entertainment in these bleak times for our country.
Do you have a point you'd like to make? But no, I've been a missionary in Africa for nearly 20 years. Non religious Catholic missionary.
Yes I do have a point. When you say "our country" you are speaking of South Africa. I'm not really sure what this has to do with Melania Trump but anyhow... Well I tip my hat to your profession, I'm not quite sure how a Catholic missionary could be non-religious but it sounds like a noble profession
Thanks but I've never been to South Africa. DR Congo. I teach at a Catholic university and work with the provincial government. No religious teaching required so it's strictly a question of skill sets.
Means a HELLUVA lot. PHD’s are a lot of hard work and stand for someone who has gone above and beyond the normal academic achievements
She's implying that the doctorate was not deserved, just a gift because of who her husband is. People with gift GEDs often believe that type of thing because they think getting a doctorate is on a par with getting a GED.
They are also ignorant of the fact that the thesis is usually published or at least made accessible for all
They are not necessarily published but copies will be available in the University library if no where else. Her critics have counted the pages and read the title but that's as far as they go because of the big words she used.
Exactly - a thesis is NOT some super secret document and if it had not been worth the PHD she was awarded then I am absolutely sure that someone would have critiqued it and pointed that out by now Mind you - I agree the big words are probably the major impediment there
