People who come into contact with high rusk people as parr of their jobs should be regularly tested. High risk people should take all necessary precautions. Testing low risk people who work or live with other low risk people is a waste of time and leads to sdvere and unnecessary restrictions.

Quote; Testing persons who are at low risk is, IMO a waste of time.

I disagree. Prior to the holidays, my sister took it upon herself to warn/recommend her long list of Facebook friends to get a negative Covid test prior to visiting family members, mainly the elderly.

Sister Ida received over 65 “Thanks for caring” responses, and from all generations.

Not surprising, my sister is the one who put together our family history book, in both English and Norwegian Norsk.

My question to you AFM; Are you the type of person who would do the same?

I wonder if Pro Line is disappointed Florida hasn't gone the progressive route and put his race in the back of the line?

Sheriffs in many areas with mask mandates refuse to enforce them. Even police departments in municipalities might refuse enforcement because they might get in trouble with funding from the state. A business cannot just selectively serve customers based on what they wear - it’s against the law in most states.
In current Florida environment, far reaching mask mandates with full enforcement are highly unlikely.

Yes, making a race a decision factor when choosing treatment is beyond ridiculous.
Most patients in those states who have a family doctor will probably get their prescription when needed no matter what because the doctor has a long term relationship with the patients. Those who have no insurance and no family doctor will end up with a short end of the stick.

High risk...? You mean like co-workers in an office building? How do you know which co-workers are high-risk and which ones are not?

My race? Sorry, no clue what you are talking about. but sure sounds like the old "poor white man the victims whine". None of this has anything to do with me or my race.

Here in Florida they still do their jobs, which includes removing unwanted customers.

I doubt its against the law in any State. If you live in Florida as you claim, then you know lot of restaurants have dress codes, like "No shirt, no shoes, no service". Golf course prohibit tee-shirts, fine restaurants prohibit jeans and tee-shirts etc Some places mandate masks. Their house, their rules. Seems like a difficult concept to someone who prefers the government dictate corporate policy.

it's good to know cases are increasing, but looking at hospitalizations and death is the more important number

    You haven’t heard?
CDC is OK with hospitals discriminating by race. So, if you live in a state that follows these guidelines, got your vaccines and still got sick then you might be left in the cold with no treatment.
If you are white and voted for Biden and ended up in that situation - congratulations! You won the Darwin award and pulled the short stick.

Okay, you might have a point.
But mask mandates are against the law in Florida, so I doubt cops would enforce it.

    Testing those who're at risk:
    (1) Saves hospital resources and tests
    (2) Saves those who're at risk
    (3) Opens up the economy
    (4) Things may get back to normal.

Quite honestly, I don't think normal will ever be achieved if we're fearful of every Covid strain. For example, Omicron is not to be feared. Number of hospitalizations leading up to death and casualties is more important than number of cases.

Delta was/is way more deadly than Omicron. Maybe that's because of acquired natural immunity. Maybe that's because of vaccinations. Who knows?
Why did the federal gov't pull off Delta vaccinations when Delta is still virulent and still more deadly than Omicron? Who knows? I'm rambling.

No, they are not against the law. Any corporation can mandate masks. Grocery stores has mask mandates well into this year. Disney World has mask mandates as we speak. Its against the law to mandate them in schools, which is something which has claimed the lives of quite a few teachers.

IMO, mask mandates were important for the initial strain of Covid because the sucking in motion of the mouth and nose created the most Covid infection in the lungs (but not all the infection 'cause those pesky fingers can transport Covid to any bodily orifice, for example).

Lets just start by ensuring the tests arent tuned to find more false positives than false negatives, OR apply our 'positive' figures to account for a high degree of false positives.

Wouldn't that lead to more hospitalizations?
If one doesn't really know they have covid until symptoms become severe. If they do of course.

In addition to the above, I’ve noticed that some posters who’ve been besmirching PCR tests, have also compared Red State’s IFR’s/CFR’s, and other infection related rates to other states, mainly Blue Sates.

I now question their level of intelligence.

...The lives of a few teachers but no students. If teachers are fearful, let them teach remotely.

Testing for those who're at risk would open up hospital resources more to non-related Covid matters. You want hospitals to not be overtaxed.

Right now many are not teaching at all, because remote teaching is not an option.

Why isn't remote teaching an option? Er, kids come to class and teachers teach via computer, for example?

Testing is only done in hospitals in Fl?

I have the home tests and those are accepted as legit.

The sole reason why XYZ Government now wants to prioritize Covid testing is due to the fact that in many regions of our country, Omicron has already overwhelmed walk-in test sites, contact tracing, and laboratory resources.

In many countries, closing schools is an easier option as their on-line teaching and learning resources are available to both rich and poor.

In fact, many foreign governments are now considering making on-line school a permanent option.
