Well the flip side is that when the upper middle class move to cities liberals complain about "gentrification".

Did anybody notice that Biden took no questions about the border or rising crime yesterday?

If you look at posters with the highest per day post count as well as posting hyper partisanship narratives is is typically ones spouting right wing propaganda, with right wing signatures and right wing avatars.

Discussion with other posters and observation. The rules seem to get relaxed when the right is having a tantrum and strengthened when the left is. You can say this is just opinion but something has driven the liberal and moderate participants from this forum and pushed them to others. If it makes you feel better to ignore the echo chamber being created here by saying they were all Chinese plants — some with 10 year post histories — so be it.

The left has created a culture, which is really indisputable, which ties impoverished people to reliance on government for sustainability. They democrats keep their boots firmly on the necks of these groups while feeding them just enough to get them to continue to vote for them. This HAS been the norm in urban centers for decades and decades. Your article asks:

"But the idea that virtually no one in the Republican Party is power-hungry enough to tell urban voters what they want to hear is deeply implausible."

It wouldn't matter. They could offer to give every person in the city a million dollars, but their chances are slim with that "R" after their name.

The fact is, the left and their dependent voters DON'T WANT the ideals of republicans or conservatives imposed on them. They literally see politics and government as a game to obtain as much output for as little input as possible. The cities are mostly bankrupt as a result of politicians trading programs for votes.

How soon we forget that the biggest city in our nation was run very recently by a Republican. Rudy Guliani. But he imposed strict laws and expectations on the citizens, and crime as a result dropped by 56% under his tenure. This is also largely why he lost the next election. The people didn't want reduced crime, they wanted to do what they want and have the government tend and take care of them.

As per your assertion, Can you name 5 liberal posters that
    1) Have a left wing avatar
    2) Have a left wing signature
    3) Mainly push propaganda
    4) Have a high average daily post count (10+)

    Without more trolling

Three of my examples including one that surpasses all others are active in this very thread, maybe you can actually contribute some factual information eventually.

Didn't say all were plants. But I suspect some that stopped posting after the election were. Who can say?

    Obviously only you…

Odd then that the site was already heavily tilted prior to the election. Do you believe any of the excessive posting conspiracy pushing Republicans here are also plants? I would say it would be hard to maintain 25 posts a day, 7 days a week for 7 years while also holding a full time job — wouldn’t you? Yet you believe it is liberal plants…

    Fascinating.

Don’t worry, you will have the complete echo chamber here soon.

The words "I suspect" are a clue that I am stating an opinion. And that opinion was only made regarding the liberal posters that you claim were driven off. Do I believe any of the conservative posters are paid to post? That seems likely and I hope so. A good adage is to fight fire with fire. For too long the Republican party has taken the high road.

The Republican desire to fight fire with fire seems to mean let’s create a conspiracy with not rational basis and then do what you are accusing others of doing.

I hear this often but I have never seen Republicans take the high road, at least not in my short voting history. Do you have any examples as all I have seen is obstruction, lies and now trolling from party leadership.

Comparing states as if the entire population is RED or BLUE is a dead giveaway that you have no point.

If you have to grossly misrepresent data to make your point, then your showing strong evidence that the opposite is true.

You're clearly trying to insinuate that the crime is somehow a issue with the right when everybody knows the opposite is true.

Mitt Romney took the high road and was ridiculed by the Dems. Bush took the high road and was ridiculed by the Dems. Ronald Reagan took the high road and he was ridiculed by Dems. Robert Dole took the high road and was ridiculed by the Dems. Your guy, the one who was going to be the great unifier compares Republicans to Bull Connor and George Wallace. Two people who ironically were Democrats. That is taking the low road. The fake impeachment was the low road. The collusion hoax was the low road.

What specifically did Romney (who was pretty much removed from your party by voting his conscious) and Bush do? Specifically?

Who is “my guy”? If you believe it is Biden that is laughable. I dislike him immensely but y’all seem to have to add things to everything he says. Democrats took much of what trump said out of context as well (injecting Clorox was the most pathetic) but y’all are just flat out being dishonest when quoting Biden (or Brandon since many of you cannot bare to even say his name). He never compared Republicans to either of those segregationists, he said:

And here’s one thing every senator and every American should remember: History has never been kind to those who have sided with voter suppression over voters’ rights. And it will be even less kind for those who side with election subversion.

So, I ask every elected official in America: How do you want to be remembered?

At consequential moments in history, they present a choice: Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?

This is the moment to decide to defend our elections, to defend our democracy.

With what Republicans are trying to do in some states it is a apt comparison however. Trying to ban Sunday voting. Making it illegal to hand out water in 8 hour lines. Closing poling locations. Restricting early voting and same day registration. Opposing automatic registration. Massive gerrymandering attempts with varying level of success. Meanwhile screaming Democrats are cheating when the last two major fraud incidents in FL and NC were both done by Republicans.

What high road have Republicans — as a party — taken within the past few decades?

I don't want to keep going back and forth on this but I will give a specific example since you asked.

Here is a Romney quote showing the nice guy high road approach - "The president does care and wants to help, He just doesn't know how, or can't."

Another Romney quote - ""It must have gone against his better instincts, but the unions wanted it, so he went along,"

Now if you can't see that as a nice guy high road approach I don't know what to tell you.

And of course Romney in return for taking the high road was branded a millionaire that doesn't get it, a corporate Bain Capital job killing raider, etc., a man who only knew about Russia from Rocky IV, etc.

Well one more example of Bush taking the high road. A man ridiculed consistently by Dems as having a low IQ - they even put up a web site comparing him to pictures of chimps.

Romney is a moderate conservative in many areas, what he said about Biden is true and what was said about Romney is also true. So nice words is what you identify as taking the high road? Are you saying no Democrat has ever “said nice stuff”?

    I am talking about policy.

Again, POLICY. Bush is a nice dude — I always liked him, he would be fun to have a few beers with but was a relatively poor president. He is fairly stupid all things considered.

So your entire premise is that some Republicans said some nice things and that makes “Republicans take the high road” while you ignore some Democrats saying nice things because other liberals are nasty?

And y’all say liberals are ruled by their emotions. Jesus

POLICY — like pledging never to ram through SCOTUS justices and then doing so because your entire party is about to be evicted. Vetoing your own bills. Refusing to negotiate on good bills with a plurality of public support.

Damn, how old are you anyway?

I can't remember that, not in a city anyway. And not in the country either really. I grew up in a sort of semi-farm (horse farm?) and we always had good locks, (along with 2 big dogs)

Crime is up in BIG cities, and all the big cities ARE Democrat run indeed, Because Democrats try to actually RUN the cities, instead of bloviating about immigrants and cutting all the city services so as to cut taxes to their rich contributors

I do too. It was just last week, Fell asleep in front of the TV with the front door open and unlocked. Fear is only scary if you give into it. Most of the murders in my city happen because of some dust up between people who know each other or gangs targeting other gangs. Live peaceably and keep good company and you don't have much to fear unless maybe you are the random convenience store clerk who gets killed every few years by some crack addict.

    Anyway #RIPBigCities
