Trump boasted that he always picked the best, that he had hundreds of highly qualified people to choose from.

But you come to tell me that he was finally forced to be surrounded by incompetents.

Laughable.

 

They had to get rid of Agnew before taking down Nixon.

 

Trump apparently believed in neutral competence. Perhaps in business - not in politics.
Trump made many mistakes.

 

Personally, I am not afraid that Trump will be re-elected if he wins the Republican nomination again.

His election in 2016 was a huge stroke of luck for conservatives.

He has become so toxic that his chances in 2024 are almost nil.

Trump is not just any politician, he is a demagogue with a strong autocratic streak. In 50 years, he will still be talked about as the one who did everything to undermine the democratic foundations of the US.

This is no small thing.

No POTUS before (Democrat or Republican) had mobilized so many resources to invalidate an election and keep himself in power.

And unfortunately, because Trump is surrounded by a cult of personality, his base is unable to understand that he is harmful to this nation.

However Trump was clueless how to create anything

He had those opportunities as well as winning the Fight against Covid where he could make America better

That is why the Voters turned out in the Largest numbers ever in our nation history to vote our twice impeached President out of office

 

"The best" when it comes to government employees is a very low bar.

 

John Kelly was a 4-star general.

Krebs was chief cybersecurity officer at Microsoft.

But the moment you criticize Trump, you go from 'the best people' to lousy traitor.

I do not care how many "stars" he had. He is a grade A political hack.

 

It was a low bar long before Trump even ran for office.

Also, your OJ newsletter, clearly reminds us that he is infallible and everybody is just picking on him. He needs to be shielded 1,000 people deep on every issue because his angelic halo might get bumped.

 

The way I see it, it is democrats who cooked up the insurance policy in case Trump won in 2016, subverting democracy with politically charged biased investigations and cooked up impeachments in an attempt to override a legitimate election. They are the ones where Jill Stein, who had absolutely no chance of winning, demanded recounts. It was Democrats who called on electors to be faithless and not elect Trump in the electoral college. It was democrats who kept on proposing 25th amendment action to overthrow a legitimately elected president.

When Biden won and Democrats took over the WH, Senate, and House, they are the ones who took people's rights away, blaming the pandemic, and hunted down and arrested peaceful protesters, taking over control of social media and banning everyone who has differing opinions and squelching first amendment rights. They are the ones who demand people have papers to enter establishments but need no papers at all to cast a vote. They are the ones who want to eliminate the filibuster so they could pass whatever they want at will. They are the ones who wish to add blue states to the Union and seats onto the Supreme Court in order to give them permanent control of the country. They are the ones trying to knock Trump out so that he can't run in elections again, overriding the will of the voters with their vote suppression tactics.

 

Yet it was the Red States that passed laws restricting the right to vote.

And if Trump had succeeded in overturning the election, the country would have tipped over into autocracy.

Biden received 9 million more votes than Trump (51.3%), so he speaks for the majority of Americans who rejected Trumpism.

Never forget that.

You feel victimized because you are part of a minority of voters who are getting smaller every year. But radicalization is not the answer.

The more you see yourself as a victim of the Dems by demonizing them and moving away from the ideological center, the more your political influence on the country will diminish.

 

LOL! That makes me over qualified to work for the government.

 

And, more importantly, the more the radicalization sets in. Since when is it OK to hate your fellow citizens in a representative republic by restricting citizens' voting? How does that support one's own rights and freedoms?

 

Isn't it just strange how they complain about things and put them in some kind of weird double-standard/rationalization magic hat?

Minorities (racial, religion, sexuality, etc.) are labeled as pulling the "X" card, but they want everyone to feel their pain and stand behind their sense of injustice.

Women (basically 2nd class citizens) should be punished (Trump's words) for having abortions thereby they want to deny her the right to choose what to do with her own body and anything in it, but all hell breaks loose if anybody dare suggest they help out and wear masks (they even bragging about not wearing them).

History (completely whitewashed) in which non-whites are reduced to footnotes but everybody has to learn white history in order to graduate.

Television (predominantly white - and ONLY white for some time) - they feel that "they" are encroaching and complain that it's being shoved in their faces (I didn't even realize so many televisions didn't come with a "power" button and remote).

Justice ("just us") - they are whining to high heaven about the time it's taking for the Capitol rioters to have their cases on the dockets. I don't recall any pearl-clutching when it takes even longer than that for most cases against minorities to read the judge's desk.



As you well know from conversations with me that I'm not prejudiced. Not at all. I don't have to be part of a demographic subset of our society in order to fight for injustice against anybody but, I'll admit, this ticks me off. One would think that if the ones espousing these double-standards truly cared about inequality, ALL inequality would matter.

But, they want to complain about their feelings of exclusion and completely ignore those exact same concerns from others that have been dealing with it for their entire lives so I'll repeat their sentiment to all the people they look down upon - "stop playing the victim".

 

Why do you think they would be concerned about that, Hey Now? They ONLY support the people that look, love and worship the way they do.

So, in essence, they want to retain their rights and freedoms but want those they deem inferior to not have those same rights and freedom.

Historically, this is the reason behind the differences in how black and brown people are convicted and imprisoned more often and much harsher than white people. Felons can't vote in some states.

But, every black or brown person is not a criminal so the next best option is to tap a stone-cold idiot with no governmental experience or leadership skills, completely devoid of integrity, morals, values or even a shred of human kindness. Prop him up to get elected as POTUS, appoint another corrupt, ethnocentric as Postmaster, have him remove mailboxes, mail sorting machines and cut overtime so people (real people, not the delusions of dead people voting) in areas likely to vote "D" or "I" face a hardship and then continue to lie and obstruct as much as possible so the entire world knows that you're a cry baby and sore loser while you get your cronies to on the trail to add more hardships in the communities you don't want to vote.

And, it's nothing short of a miracle that he actually made true statement.






And, a gentle reminder: If you don't try to use logic, it's less painful.

 

I'm one of those independents who has voted for members of both parties and others for most of my life. There has never been an election where I voted for just one party. I do lean right and the Democratic party has been moving farther and farther left. While I believe I have stayed with my beliefs the left sees me as moving further right merely because they are moving further left. I see Democrats for what they are in trying to demonize the other side and claiming the other side is taking democracy away while the Democrats are actually the ones doing it.

 

Hopefully we'll see intervention from his family. Particularly the daughter he wants to ****. They probably have more sway with him than anyone else.

I always remind myself of this old saying, regardless of it's origins, it's insanely accurate: "United we stand, divided we fall"

 

I count about 8 of us.

What do we do about the other gazillion that love to fight and blame and refuse to consider the idea their opinion isn't everybody's else's opinion? And, there is another subgroup that is seeking that exact goal. I'm kind of surprised to learn there are so many adults that behave this way. I've met maybe three people like that in real life but forums all over the net seem to multiply them somehow.

It's kind of heart-breaking. What is the point in living in society if one isn't willing to look for solutions that mutually acceptable solutions to problems that arise when people live together? It just makes no sense to do that. It's counterintuitive and counterproductive. Sad really.
