BOOM! I think war is imminent and this could get out of control fast. Russia and China see weakness in the White House and are ready to to take advantage, before we elect another President that shows strength in 2024. Good job Liberals for electing a Sheep in a World of Wolves. The United States should have punched Putin and Xi in the Mouth way before it got to this point and sending a couple thousand US troops over there now isn't going to change a thing.

NATO is not sending anything there in order to fight for Ukraine. They are being sent to other NATO member states just in case.

You also do not seem to understand what the whole thing is about, since you think its about US.

Democrat election strategy for some years now. Wag the dog moment to distract Biden's complete failures and can now show unity, by getting bipartisan legislation to "punish" Russia. War hawks will be war hawks!

Just in case! Yup I get it! Same reason I own a firearm, take a statin, eat right and take a fair amount of exercise :)

    JUST IN CASE ;)

The sanctions package, like the one implemented by Trump against Huawai, or whatever, would be good for the rest of Pootins reign.

This is all true, but pootins opportunism is clearly displayed. China is taking threatening postures against Taiwan too.
After these upcoming Olympic Games we could end up with a new world order. Russia has been making military moves during the games for a while now, Chinese seem to be learning from them too. Disfunction introduced by woke politics is clearly on display and is a sin not to exploit for an adversary.

You know, as a native Ukrainian who is a naturalized US citizen, I don’t want American troops to directly engage Russians over Ukraine. But massive sanctions and military support are definitely in order.
The US government could provide Ukraine with lethal drones, or functional fighter jets that are being replaced by F35s. Ukraine has tanks and anti-aircraft systems, but it needs to beef up its air force and navy.

Its weird you don't look into things before posting. US considers sending few hundred troops to NATO member nations in the area, not to Ukraine and not to fight Russia.

You can't simply send F-35s and expect them to be useful. It would take at least a couple of years of training and integrating them with the existing Ukrainian Air Force infrastructure in order for them to be useful.

What the U.S. and NATO could do is declare a NO FLY Zone over Ukraine and enforce it. If the Russians want to invade Ukraine they can do it without air support.

I didn’t say send F35s to Ukraine. I said the aircraft that is being replaced by F35s could be sent to Ukraine. Otherwise they’ll be sitting in a desert for like 30 years and then taken apart.

Yeah, I remember the good ole days when we merely sent a few advisers into Vietnam!

Biden needs this escalation and I assure you, he will do anything to make sure it happens.

So NATO is responding so minimally that it’s bordering on the symbolic. Fantastic

Its nice that you remember, but we are not sending them to Ukraine, but to NATO member nations.

Our corporations won't allow us to do anything about China.

Putin has had 4 years to do whatever he wants with regard to Ukraine, but yea, this is liberals fault.

US orders American embassy families out of Ukraine.

Probably a good idea given that Biden greenlighted the invasion, once Ukrainians are being crushed, they could become very bitter against any Americans about, and Biden has shown that he will leave you behind enemy lines. Americans should drop everything and get the hell out of the country, right now.

    NO.
    War is "not imminent".
    Give me break.:bored:

War between Russia and Ukraine is NOT going to happen. Period.

As far as sending fighters and withdrawal of embassy personel?
That, in no way signals that "war is imminent"

    Hardly.

We always hear this talk when a Democrat is in the White House. I think it comes from Russian propagandists and easily finds its way into the right-wing echo chambers. That's what happens when people get their news and information from untrustworthy sources -- sources that are as likely to repeat Russian lies as they are to tell or repeat domestic lies, since they all drive up fear and other negative emotions. And that's what alt-right and right-wing media are all about.
