I merely object to sexist and racist hiring policies where the sign says: "White Males need not apply". Or white females, or Indian Transsexuals, or any other category. The type of genitals you are sporting and the amount of pigment in your skin has nothing to do with your qualifications, for ANY job (except perhaps one where you are playing a historically real person in a play, movie, or other form of media), but especially such an important job as a Supreme Court Justice. Or, indeed, the Vice-President. I have no problem if it turns out the most qualified candidate just happens to be a black woman, but I have a big one when that becomes the most important qualifying factor. And when you show me a short list with 5 or 8 or 10 names on it, and they are all black females, I call bullshit to the idea that they are the top 5 or 8 or 10 most qualified candidates.

And imagine how whomever is chosen is going to feel knowing that she was an affirmative action hire for the entirety of her life. That she didn't get there because she was that GOOD, she got there because she was a she that was dark enough to satisfy Joe Biden's vision of what "black" means. Hell, if it were me, I would turn the job down before accepting it under the current situation now. I'd prefer not to have the job at all than to know that's why I got it.

 

Now let's do the Jews, Chinese, and Irish. Let's just divide up America by race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc. You want to help blacks, kill public education, promote inner city opportunities, and promote family values.

No, they are all African-American women, because that's what Biden promised back when he desperately needed Clyburn to endorse him. I like that he's keeping a promise, even if I don't like the fact that such a promise was made in the first place. Both sides are playing politics with the Supreme Court, and in my opinion, that court should be treated with some dignity.

Trump SPECIFICALLY choose his SC picks with an eye toward reversing Roe vs Wade.
There wasn't nearly as much gnashing of teeth about Trump's choices.

No we're going to have ample time to cut into this judges record but I just want to emphasize the origins and the base principle of the extremism resulting in this person even being considered. You say the nominee doesn't seem extreme but how would you know? The MSM isn't going to analyze her decisions, the far-left blogs aren't going to investigate her background, the Senate Democrats aren't going to divulge who is paying them to champion her. They wont do any of these things because they don't even recognize the extremist nature of the inception of this idea that a Justice must be a black female. So tell me this - why would people so intellectually dishonest waste this incredibly rare opportunity to shape American along their ideology that is by definition extremest?

 

It is illegal to exclude people from a position based on race or gender.
It is illegal to apply justice unequally along racial or gender lines.

By professing to only consider black women for the position Brandon breaks the first law, by defending the choice by saying we need to have a 'black perspective' on the bench he announces the intent of that Justice to break the second.

I don't know why you're replying to my post with a raving about Jews... I didn't say a single word about Jews, Judaism, Israel, or anything that is "Judea-Christian (sic)'. What I have said in the past, in a different thread, is that although I have no particular affinity for Jews or Judaism, I have never met a stupid Jewish person in my life... never.

Puzzling to me is your comment that "they love their religion"! I've never gotten the impression that American Jews "love their religion", because those I've known have been distinctly secular in their beliefs, distinctly liberal, and distinctly 'international' in personal orientation rather than passionately patriotic toward either the United States OR Israel.

My post (to which your replied... sort of) hoped to underscore the fact that we Americans are a society rooted in rule of LAW, where every American citizen is fully EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW, and that we have been so since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 were made the 'law of the land'! Therefore, all this whining and bitching about how Blacks are kept from voting because they have to register to vote is nothing but transparently obvious, specious bullshit!

Anyway, back on topic, it's really very simple: one liberal Justice will retire, and another liberal Justice will take his place. Nothing particularly enigmatic about that... although Geriatric Joe Biden is crapping on every American citizen who ISN'T 'a Black female' by saying that his SCOTUS pick must be "Black" and "Female". How can that be if we are all "equal before the law"...?
