Rudy Giuliani has gone from America's mayor to the village idiot. Giuliani suggested that Eminem should leave the country for kneeling during the Superbowl halftime show. Maybe he should make that suggestion to the worst president ever, Crooked Donnie Trump, who is still making a fool of himself by LYING about voter fraud denying his re-election effort in 2020.

I still don't understand this. I mean any of it. I don't know why you are supposed to stand during the national anthem. I don't know why kneeling during it is courageous. I don't know why it's unpatriotic either.

The whole thing strikes me as children arguing over the rules of a playground game they made up.

Nuh uh whenever someone says platypus you have to spin 3 times you're out! I don't like platypus that's a stupid word you're out. Nuh uh platypus is cool spin around! Well we said it 3 times now so you spin 9 times!

    Allegiance to our flag.
It's acknowledging that "all men (and women)" are NOT equal in the US.
It's not. That's the same foundation of the complaints about CRT which is labeled as "hateful". It's not considered hateful for all students to be taught white settlement and birth of the nation but including the other people that contributed to that is.

It's the same argument behind "pulling the race card." First, non-whites are discriminated against and then silenced if they dare say they've been discriminated against.
It's not because the reality is racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia are very real problems for people that have to face that hatred every day of their lives.

Either, we should say "Yeah, we are better than you. Sucks to be you!" or be willing to face the real issues and address them and there is no reason on Earth that any of us that receive that *automatic* privilege at birth would want to do that other than some of us recognize the pain and hurt that comes from centuries of non-whites being gaslighted and their pain and struggles minimized.

It is also extremely myopic, hypocritical and downright silly that all of us have been subjected to a completely incompetent, selfish, stupid, counterproductive and worthless @sshole having his nervous breakdown in public and somehow his **pain** is justifiable and acceptable but the people that actually can't buy property anywhere they want, attend any school of their choosing (for which they qualify academically), drive any vehicle they can afford (without being stopped by the police) and are shot down for no reason other than a bigoted cop wanted to get away with killing a "less than human" anyway get a slap in the face when that same privileged person is trying to pull the "race" card.
No, it's not that innocent. The "kneelers" are saying "We hear you. We know." Those that shame and blame them and grow angry because of their actions are saying "Black and brown lives don't matter and they need to stop trying to have the same rights we have because we need them to be our society's scapegoat any damn well time we please."

South Park already solved this issue with the episode where the announcer says “now please stand, sit or kneel” for the national anthem

It's a free country. As long as the NFL tolerates it, players and entertainers are free to choose to honor this great nation or dishonor it. That is their right.

It is also my right to not watch the NFL. I watch the game for entertainment, not to be offended by a bunch of overpaid players and entertainers.

I no longer watch the NFL.

There is no law that requires non military citizens to stand for the national anthem. The NFL, however, has a policy that it must be played before a game and that players must stand for the anthem. They revised their rules a couple of years ago to allow players to stay in the locker room for this, if they don't want to stand.

There is zero law that a singer must stand for the anthem.

It's important to note that it is perfectly legal to burn an American flag, as it is considered speech.

I, personally, do not believe it is unpatriotic to sit or kneel for the anthem. I do it when I am physically able to do so, but I have had to remain seated on occasion, due to severe back pain or something similar.

What Eminem does or doesn't do is none of my business. Why must people always be sticking their opinions in where they are not welcomed nor needed.

Poor Rudy; trying so hard to stay relevant. He's just a clown, now.

No rules or law. Just respect.
Not a problem for people unable to stand. However, when they are able to stand and then do not do so, they are intentionally showing disrespect. Too many good people gave their lives for this great country for them to turn their back.

What are the consequences to the country or the flag when someone kneels during the anthem, except for angering some people who think the flag is some sort of holy and sacred piece of cloth.

How are you, personally, harmed? Do you stand when it's played on TV?

He did a good job on 9/11 and for quite some time after. The moment he went on his "I only know how to form a sentence if it has 911 in it," tour, he became mostly irrelevant.

Eminem has to satisfy the group of people whose music culture he got rich off of
    He did nothing wrong
Rudy is the one who messed up here by even acknowledging Eminem
I would have said “who’s that?”
The best way to deal with these people is to not acknowledge them
Btw. The song was funny. Thanks for sharing

But the flag is made in China?

Kidding aside that was a pretty good case. Battles of symbolism are not my forte, but I understand the sentiment you were conveying.

For many of those of us who have served and who have lost friends, it is some sort of holy and sacred piece of cloth. Not for what it is, but for what it represents.
I am offended. No. However, when I am in the privacy of my own home, I am not intentionally showing disrespect.

what are the consequences to the country for going up to a stranger and giving the middle finger?
You should come up with a better angle. Lots of things don’t cause people true harm
This sounds like lefty logic to me

If you don't stand each and every time you hear it played, than you are a hypocrite. This is not unusual behavior for partisans. Sitting on your ass or kneeling is either disrespectful or it's not. This is a binary question.

Most likely. ;-) (That was funny!).
Well, I'm torn on this issue because I really, really, really do not like the Orange Stain and it pissed me off that he molested our flag for his fake photo ops for his cult members. He's so pathetic.

In the privacy of my own home, I am not showing disrespect.

The difference is openly and intentionally showing disrespect. Why would anyone want to do that?

OH, I see; it's only disrespectful when others can see you.

Can you post a link to the rules/laws that guide your thinking on this or do you just make it up as you go?

I assume you clap when you go to an opera or live theater. Do you clap when at home. I am fairly sure you don't.

The reason is simple. You are showing respect and appreciation to the artist.

The same applies to flags and the national anthem. I am publicly showing respect and honoring those who have done so much for our country. Sitting on my hands or kneeling openly shows disrespect. At home, I am not showing respect or disrespect to anyone.

So, unless you clap after a show in your own home, lay off the made up crap.
