    Faith is fine
Condemning others because they do not share in your… beliefs… without evidence… is foolish.

I've condemned no one, I'm the one denigrated in this thread. I've just shared my religious beliefs.

Oh my! 100,000 people! (It’s actually 92k but who’s counting)

Thanks to the Electoral College every red vote there held exactly zero weight.

Why do people of… belief… think their religious preference belongs in every topic and intertwined into every law?

That is the only issue I have with religious persons.

I don't insert my beliefs in every topic. But the OP here is specifically about "the whole armor of God."

Why do you say that? Do you think science is the only way to understand our universe? I don't generally put in a plug for Catholicism but apologetics in the church over the years have relied a great deal on reason in their writings. Most of the early scientists in the western world were believers in Christ, and many still are.

Does that include all the anti-christian bigotry we see here at PF on a regular basis?

Asking for a curious friend of mine.

Of course it was. Your continued refusal to answer a simple set of on-topic, good-faith questions constitutes withdraw from the discussion, aka quitting, aka conceding. I am happy to pick up the conversation when you feel like answering the two questions you are pretending you have answered.

Both questions were answered. The obtuseness shtick is bordering on harassment. Keep it up.

    Because it is a fact.

Straw man. I made no such statement.

That may be true. Does not change the fact that faith is the antithesis of reason.

You did not answer either of my questions. You posted a meme with no rational relation to either of the questions I asked. Repeating a falsehood over and over does not make it magically become true.

Let's play a game. You'll love it! We'll call it "prove Bow To The Robots wrong."

All you have to do to prove me wrong is post a citation to the thread in which you claim you answered my questions. I'll even make it easy for you! You only need to prove you answered ONE of my questions. Remember this is your chance to prove me wrong by showing me the answer you claim you gave (which you didn't).

I asked you to name this alleged political opponent you referenced in this thread right here: http://politicalforum.com/index.php...t-them-from-the.597409/page-8#post-1073286655

So all you need to do to win the game is to point me to the post by you containing the name of this political opponent you allege Trump wanted to "corruptly investigate" as you claimed.

GUARANTEE: If you successfully show me the post you made containing the name of this alleged political opponent, I will not only concede, but I will donate $25 to the charity of your choice -- must be an actual charity, ie 501(c)3.

I'll wait... but not too long. You've got two hours. It is currently 20:45 PST. You have until 22:45. Good luck.

I've answered these question more than once in this thread, and will not do so again over and over. But, I will give a summary of my beliefs here. Faith and reason are not incompatible, they are in fact complimentary. This is the basis of much of church theology as expressed by the examples of Thomas Aquinas and Pope John Paul II.

The beliefs of Aquinas can be summarized by:
Aquinas sees reason and faith as two ways of knowing. "Reason" covers what we can know by experience and logic alone. From reason, we can know that there is a God and that there is only one God; these truths about God are accessible to anyone by experience and logic alone, apart from any special revelation from God.
Pope John Paul II in his Fides et Ratio states it this way:
What is distinctive in the biblical text is the conviction that there is a profound and indissoluble unity between the knowledge of reason and the knowledge of faith. The world and all that happens within it, including history and the fate of peoples, are realities to be observed, analyzed and assessed with all the resources of reason, but without faith ever being foreign to the process. Faith intervenes not to abolish reason's autonomy nor to reduce its scope for action, but solely to bring the human being to understand that in these events it is the God of Israel who acts. Thus the world and the events of history cannot be understood in depth without professing faith in the God who is at work in them. Faith sharpens the inner eye, opening the mind to discover in the flux of events the workings of Providence. Here the words of the Book of Proverbs are pertinent: “The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps” (16:9). This is to say that with the light of reason human beings can know which path to take, but they can follow that path to its end, quickly and unhindered, only if with a rightly tuned spirit they search for it within the horizon of faith. Therefore, reason and faith cannot be separated without diminishing the capacity of men and women to know themselves, the world and God in an appropriate way.

Actually just after He first created us and sin happened men and women living around 900 years was common. It was after the flood that our life span shortened dramatically from that time until around a couple hundred years go.

Those aren't the questions you need to answer. You referred me to post #185. Perhaps you could work backwards from there.

Not exactly a unique phenomenon. Enviro people think climate change belongs in every topic/law. Woke people think race or trans or whatever stuff belongs in every topic/law.

The GOP needs all of its national defense, economic, and religious working class triad of legs. Reagan was right to bring all the social conservatives into the party after Carter blew their support. As far as I’m concerned fiscal conservative/ socially liberal who always vote democrat over religion, abortion, etc. deserve all the tax hikes, high gas prices, and restrictions on their gun rights in their state/community that come their way. They brought it upon themselves. I remember liberal republicans in New Jersey a decade or so ago complaining about high cost of living and high taxes after they voted democrat because of the abortion issue. They got what they deserved.

Exactly. Those of us speaking from an evangelical Christian point of view believe that the Bible and nature around us provide us enough clues and circumstantial evidence to make the faith we have a rational faith, not a blind one.
