Yes, I was referring to Russians in America in general.

If we're going to start kicking out non-citizens because of the risk of terrorism they pose, I can think of a few groups I'd put in that line ahead of Russian foreign exchange students.

Cool beans. I am talking about the citizens of the nation which is currently threatening the US with nuclear weapons.

These are not foreign exchange students, who are under age of 18, these are military age university students.

It sounds like we agree that the risk of terrorist attacks from them is relatively low, or at least lower than some other groups of foreigners we're allowing to remain in the country. Is that a fair summary thus far?

As for the threat of nuclear attacks, I'd think having some ethnic Russians scattered around the country might offer a bit of a deterrent. I'm not suggesting that we take them hostage or use them as human shields, but if the thought that "I might be nuking my nephew who is away at university" gives someone somewhere in their chain of command a pause and cause for self-reflection, that's not a bad thing.

As for your last line, I was under the impression that foreign exchange students could refer to both high school and college students. That's an impression since bolstered by a quick google search:

I never said its low. Putin enjoys 70% approval, so its likely that many of those students are pro-Putin especially when you consider the fact that they come from wealthy and well connected families. Putin is treating US as an enemy, and so will they.

No idea where you got the idea this is about foreign exchange student, when the students are referred to as university students.

It's hard not to think that when the right's messiah is prattling on about how smart Putin was to invade Ukraine and the right wing media pundits are polishing trump's turd, yet again.

I have a funny feeling that if Trump suggested this you'd be against it.

Not just against it. He'd be apoplectic about the grave human rights abuses it entailed, and how the suggestion is counter to everything we hold dear as a democracy, and on and on.

Swallow is a fool but considering we were storing kids in cages at the Southern border this time last year, what would you expect?

Last year? I'd be VERY surprised if Biden doesn't still have some kids locked away in cages somewhere.

And just to correct the record, while many of the "Japanese Americans" sent to the internment camps were citizens, there were also many that were not (roughly one third).

Funny feelings are just that, - funny feelings, Some people are all about feelings, while the rest of us prefer facts.

Making crap up about other posters....? Tut-tut. Shame on you, but given your track record, its to be expected.

Trump was a clown, that much is a fact, but Russia is dangerous, which is a view I have always maintained.

    And still wrong!

And exporting oil to Russia? We increases imports of Russian oil by 100% from 2019 to 2021. We are supporting their war machine when we should be stopping the purchase of their oil and increasing production here to neutralize Russians energy.

No, it is not. You are making stuff up, and you are also making the thread about other posters, which is what you always do. You are making this about Trump, not me.

My track record is being anti-Russia, so you can stop lying about my views.

    Some people......

Swalwell is a gigantic pile of crap. He screwed a Chinese spy for over a year and remains on the intelligence committee. No one should be listening to this traitor and scumbag.

I don't think we deported all Muslim students after 9/11. Why would we do it if a Muslim country attacked another Muslim country?

Actually, I don't think it's a bad idea to deport Russian students, but to be fair, we should also deport all of the students of Russia's ally, China, as well.

Hasek is wrong, because the NHL players are individuals and not representing their country, but I think the Great One is 100% correct.... No formal Russian teams should be allowed to participate in ANY international sports at this time
