I love how you try to boil price changes in oil into just on small sort of related fact rather than the dozens of variables that actually control the market.
How you ignore the OPEC + meeting late last year where they agreed to cut production.
When you ignore the sudden spike in demand after almost 2 years of covid shutdowns around the world.
How oil companies shut down wells when prices hit certain levels to keep a balance in their favor for supply/demand.

But whatever, dude - you go on and play in your partisan bubble.

Crying for Big Govt to save you? That's not exactly a Conservative move.

I happen to agree with what you just posted. But when you start all the deflections about Covid and lumber or trying to blame the pandemic on one guy, I'm not going there with you.

Reagan requested less spending each year than the Congress passed and Congress did not pass all the spending recessions he sent to them.

Congress controls budgets and the debt not Presidents.

The fact remains he had to fight the inflation he inherited and did so and beat it. Biden and his team simply blame it on Putin and walk away.

Well to be fair, for those of us who went through the 15% inflation of the Carter years, we do recognize the cyclical nature of an economy. Could things get worse
before they get better? Sure. Are we ever going to have the same prices as we did in 2016? History says no - cause we've had inflation for about 100 years at
    one rate or the other.

He gets blamed for what he does or doesn't do and the results as he tried to blame everyone and everything else and then turns his back and walks away while the members of his staff go around laughing about it.

Where did I ever blame the pandemic on one guy? That be crazy talk.
And I posted the lumber prices to show that we already had rising inflation BEFORE Trump left office - so blaming just
one President (when they have all been signing off on huge stimulus bills) is silly.

I blame Biden for INCREASING the effects of inflation.
What was the very first things he did coming into office?
Bring back all the regulations Trump got rid of to help our economy.
Then he signals to the world, what our oil and energy future will look like shutting down the Keystone pipeline
    Starts mass purchasing foreign oil
Regulates our own oil producers into additional cost to produce handcuffing their production to appear to be more green deal savvy
Now he's begging foreign oil suppliers to raise their production
We were the worlds largest provider of oil just a year ago. Where are we now?

    And he isn't responsible?

In general when prices of necessities go up in wartime the government regulates the prices until the war is over. That worked in WWII

But of course the conservatives now expect us all to dutifully die, since government regulation of any kind for any reason is completely anathema

As you can see from the graph - having a Republican in the White House does not guarantee smaller government (the spikes are census years).

A time so culturally different that you might as well be talking about another planet. There's no way on earth the average 21stC American (or European, or Australian, etc) is going to tolerate all that went with Govt regulation of prices .. ie RATIONS and OBLIGATIONS. There were so many rules necessary to support that level of intervention, that only cultures accustomed to delayed gratification and cooperation could pull it off.

Try telling your fat, lazy, itinerant neighbours, that they're going to be rationed rice & beans, and expected to grow vegetables to supplement 'the war effort'. Good luck.

Sorry, I missed the part of the graph that shows the additional 80,000 IRS positions.
I also don't see on the graph the federal employees who lost their jobs due to idiotic Biden mandates
I don't see on the graph the over 100,000 medical workers who have been fired

    But its nots Biden fault

You seem rather befuddled regarding the responsibilities and duties of POTUS. May I respectfully suggest that you read the ****ing manual before continuing this conversation... whistle_zpse7930712.gif

At 12 million barrels per day, the US is STILL the world's largest oil producer.

You might want to look at China's nearly doubling of demand for oil in the last 10 years when you want to know why oil prices have been climbing (except for the Covid slump). And you might want to look at how much the US EXPORTS before you blame one guy.

Sorry, you're going to have to prove 100,000 medical personal were fired - seems to be closer to 10,000, so maybe you misread.
As for the IRS agents - the hires were mostly replacing IRS employee shrinkage over the last 30 years DESPITE a growing population.

Well I mean that's a pretty good reply if you're going for juvenile and vague.

Is there a single criticism of this administration that you have offered up?

Just to make it clear. The rich don't lose money in recessions. They make even more money than when the markets are going up. It is called "shorting." Some have made a 100% return in the last two months alone. They even have algorithm based supercomputers that perfect market timing. Even better, there are ways around capital gains taxes. The leftist idea that the rich will pay is ludicrous. It is the middle class that gets stuck with the bill.

I can tell you first hand these guys think the others are idiots and not savvy. It is their fault for not knowing how to make money and play the market. The leftists are just useful idiots for them.

Even worse, all these poor bastards that are retiring soon are gonna get hammered in their Roth's and 401ks. Portfolio managers are saying hold!

Trump activity acted to reduce cheap foreign oil during covid, it happened and now that demand is up, it's not just us paying more for gas, it's the world

the real issue here is why is American oil charging us more because overseas they have less oil? simple... cause they can

the right lied to us, American oil is not cheaper... as soon as more cheap foreign oil floods the market, prices will come down

there is no such thing as US oil companies setting prices cheaper for us either, they all use the global exchange to determine price - that was a lie sold to the American people by the right

real energy independence means sitting on our oil and saving it for when other countries run out, not using up ours first - leave most of our oil for our children, imagine their world if they run out of oil before other contries
