I'm honestly not trying to be, but I don't see where all these ideas about trying Putin for war crimes, or his own people taking him out because they miss McDonald's...it just seemed far fetched to me. Do you honestly think that is more likely how the war ends? With Putin overthrown and imprisoned?

They’ll miss the jobs. McDonald’s is a good job there. ;)

The USA, a nuclear nation, supports Israel, a nuclear nation, in their military invasion and annexation of West Bank.

And the Golan Heights .. invading Syria as we speak .. and the war in Syria -- conducted by our Islamist Jihadist Proxy army - aka The Islamic State .. which existed for some 3 years .. and would have our dog not gone off its leash .. and gone into Iraq .. good chance it might still exist today .. ICC gave Obama a war crime medal for Yemen .. "Complicity in war Crimes" -- where we did very little... wait until they get round to Syria .. cause that is way beyond complicity well into the land of no return - hand in hand with Brother El Saud .. Spawn of all the really nasty radical Islamist groups ... round the globe from Taliban to ISIS - Al Qaeda to Mujahadeem - Boko Haram to Al Shabaab .. and not sure what the nut jobs in pakistan and India .. Mumbai bombers for lack of a better term.. All giving Islam its bad name -- shame to the Non Islamists - good folks

but all good in the hood .. Just do as I say .. not as I do .. or all good until they do .. do was we do .. then we have problem .. now we have nuclear nation on both side .. the rule book that we so praise and cherish ... but don't follow .. now being tossed out .. as was foretold ... by the Prophet .. the one with such gift ... :) :)

Right now they do, but hopefully we can rely on on other countries for cheap labor.

So considering China basically owns us, what should our response be to weaken China during this conflict?

"Russia understandably perceives the expansion of NATO onto its Western frontier as a national security threat, and that U.S. foreign policy therefore bears some responsibility for the current conflict. This is hardly a fringe view, having been articulated by such establishment figures as George Kennan and Henry Kissinger.

Well, you can’t reattach Ukraine to Russia anymore, as can be evidenced by events from last month. I don’t think Ukraine will need NATO any time soon after this war. :)

This war has helped to demonstrate just how outdated this kind of warfare has become. As I observed some time ago, Putin is a 19th century despot conducting a 20th century war in the 21st century. By that I mean that his mentality is from the 19th century and the way he is conducting this war is straight out of the WWII era, practically a repeat of Germany invading its neighbors, which fails to account for modern weapons, tactics, economic circumstances, and modern mass communication. Imagine if Germany had been met with a unified global response that could have sent tank-destroying man-portable weapons to the countries they were invading and economic sanctions that could rapidly crush their currency and economic output, and if the rest of the world could have witnessed Germany's atrocities in real time as we witness Russia's atrocities now. World War II probably would have gone for Germany a lot like how this war is going for Russia. Troops, tanks, planes, missiles and such can only get you so far in this environment. The way these are employed must be much different now than they were 50-20 years ago because of these factors.

I don't think the draft would be reinstated while we are battling just Russia. I figure with the help of the other NATO countries, we could handle it. But, if China takes that opportunity to go after Taiwan, and Iran and friends attack Israel and NK goes after SK as well, we will have our WW and I think everyone able will go.

Ah .. so you believe they're immune to the profit-driven influence of their corporate backers for all eternity? That no global events or seismic shifts can alter their narrative of whole truth?

Given the general laziness of those I know who still trust corporate media (and that number is shrinking, given the realisation media has chosen not to warn The People of coming disaster), I assume this is a comfort choice on your part. When those who could save lives via the disemination of information, choose instead to protect trade and commerce, there's not a single reason to trust them with anything.

Seems safe to assume this is also the reason you think people concerned about feeding their families, are idiots. Given the average daily headlines across key MSM around the Western world amounts to bite sized chunks of dumbed down war news, a dab here and there of fuel pricing etc, and that's about it ... it's little wonder so many are oblivious. Poor and working class people are heading towards starvation all across the First World .. not because there's no food (yet), but because they can't pay for it. The media is behaving as though that isn't happening. Almost complete silence.

And you must know WHY they're maintaining that silence .. especially given the recent but less grave threat (pandemic) was given saturation coverage for almost two solid years. So much air time given to 'saving lives' that it became obnoxious. Yet here we are with a threat to far more lives, and nothing. In case you really don't know why they're silencing this conversation .. it's all about profit. They want us carrying on with the spending and habits of the 'just in time' economy, because it guarantees their profits until the very last possible minute. They don't want people pulling out of the system to protect themselves.

If we ever have a good reason to go to war, I have no doubt that the military will get all the volunteers it can handle.

You bring Russia closer!!! We created this mess by pushing NATO in Ukraine. We should have been building better relations with Russia to counter China. China is the real threat, not Russia.

The Bear fell apart because it screwed up its economy with collective production, central planning and political repression. Putin is messing up his economy with corruption and political repression.

There is no aggression directed at Russia, no bear poking.

I'm serious! They're not the best all around, but they do report accurately. The only reason anyone dislikes them these days is because right-wing fake news has been attacking them non-stop for years now, but these people don't give these outlets a fair chance and evaluate them objectively. If they were objective like me, they would agree.

Well there have been so many fake stories done by these news outlets. If you've depended on CNN and MSNBC for news for the past couple of years, I safely assume you were badly misinformed.

Don't worry about what "right wing news" says about them, do your own research.
