And in the line of succession an elected official that would mostly laugh when asked about the war in Ukraine since she laughs about everything (this, due to the fact that she has zero capability to answer questions with any level of leadership).

The Democrats choose Biden as their nominee because he was a safe bet to beat Trump. There could have been other reasons, if so, they’re all secondary. The goal was to come up with a nominee acceptable to independents, who decide national elections. Hillary Clinton wasn’t. In 2016 57% of independents viewed Trump negatively, but 70% viewed Hillary that way. Hence, Trump won the independent vote and the White House.

In 2020, 60% of independents viewed Trump negatively while 48% viewed Biden negatively. Biden won. I suppose the bottom line in my view was Biden wasn’t chosen for his leadership abilities, not even on his stances on the issues, just to beat Trump. He was chosen to win over independents Clinton lost. Biden was successful. For the Democrats and for independents, it was mission accomplished. Biden had a reputation as a moderate democrat, he behaved and acted like an adult, that was all that was needed back in Nov 2020. Getting someone who behaved presidential and was perceived as a grownup back into the Oval Office.

I think Biden is now expendable. He did what he was chosen to do. Beat Trump. Now we go from there or from here to whatever the future holds. Good choice or a bad choice today? That’s irrelevant, he was a good choice in Nov 2020, a successful choice according to a majority of Americans. Lost or not, Biden did what we wanted him to do at the time he was chosen. That’s all that counts until 2024.

BUT, remember that the reason he started off so low was because of the economy that was left to him by Donald Trump.
