Republicans are done debating, because they claim everyone is against them, including the debates.

I dont see how this benefits them unless they plan to run Trump again, who would embarrass them at the podium.

The Republican National Committee voted unanimously Thursday in favor of withdrawing from the Commission on Presidential Debates.

What they're saying: "The Commission on Presidential Debates is biased and has refused to enact simple and commonsense reforms to help ensure fair debates including hosting debates before voting begins and selecting moderators who have never worked for candidates on the debate stage," RNC chair Ronna McDaniel said in a press release.

    • "Today, the RNC voted to withdraw from the biased CPD, and we are going to find newer, better debate platforms to ensure that future nominees are not forced to go through the biased CPD in order to make their case to the American people," she added.
    • "Debates are an important part of the democratic process, and the RNC is committed to free and fair debates."

Maybe it can be viewed as a tacit admission that debates no longer matter. Many simply vote based on what their social media feeds tell them to think.

I think it depends on who is on the stage. I think people would be interested in seeing Rand Paul debate Manchin for example.

This I like. The debates need to have more than just 2 people. Have the top Independent too.

Also they always favor the Democrats. Trump was always attacked while Hillary and Biden had it easy. Hillary was barely asked about what her husband did to women and she ignored and that was all fine. If Trump ignored a question it was the end of the world.

Republicans need to have thier own debates and include independents as well.

The current debates are a **** show. More performative and less substance. Extremely bias as well.

The problem is we keep looking to corporate media for sources of debate moderation and they're clearly interested in pushing their bias into the debate. I wont pretend like its possible to find totally unbiased moderation, but we'd do a lot better looking for it elsewhere.

Fair enough. However, if a person is too scared to debate, can't stay at a Summit because some guys were making fun of him behind his back and can be forced to capitulate to Pelosi..they don't deserve a shot at being Leader of the Free World. We need more Zelenskys and fewer bone spurs with no filter and all the other petulant, immature drama that's been happening in Our House.

They need to sell those by the dozen at walmart. I can think of soooo many relatives and friends who need one. I could include it with Christmas cards.

They are biased. The GOP them a list of things that they could to make in clear that they would be evenhanded and they refused the GOP offer. So they are the presidential debate commission that could not close the deal with both major parties.

As for the Ship Joe Biden, it simply has more holes than can be patched.

They'll play the victim card no matter how you pamper them. Heck, Megan Kelly hosted one during the primaries and they screamed louder than ever, even though they were all Republicans.

Ironically this is such a childish statement. You were one of them "we gotta solve the mean tweets!" voters?

I recommend you hope they run Trump. If they do all the democrats will have to do is run anyone other Biden, Clinton or Harris. Guaranteed win. If the republicans don't run Trump, there is little hope for the democrats. Just an opinion and observation.

Problem is that I don't see the Dems running anyone else. I think Trump wins regardless. However a non-Trump Republican wins the popular vote without a doubt

The "Clint Eastwood" tactic seems apropos to humiliate the GQP cowards -- put an empty chair draped with an empty suit and an oversized red tie on stage to fill in for Donnie Dipshit.
