Putin and Russia aren't interested in the peace of things at this time. They want what they want and will do anything at will to do it. Putin had no intentions to liberate Ukraine, Putin wants to merge Ukraine into Russia and insert his dictatorship and tell the Ukrainians to obey his rules or suffer consequences for disobedience especially if it is deliberate. It's would be like this: Obey me or else!

Britain reveals Ukrainian soldiers are training locally

Glad to hear this. I hope there is plenty more such training going on elsewhere as well. The Ukrainians deserve every bit of help we can muster. Putler must fail, and fail completely, in Ukraine.

I think you're right. About two weeks ago we sealed a deal with the Poles for 250 M1A2 SEPv3s, and I'm guessing the Challengers are being deployed there until we can replace the T-72s. Under the initial terms of the deal, the first shipment of 30 MBTs were due in Poland before the end of the year but there's been talk in Washington about expediting the order. Even then, it's going to take several more months to train the crews and support personnel. Our tankers get about 5 months at Fort Benning, so if the first Abrams arrived in Poland tomorrow, the first crews won't be ready for combat until September-October. I assume this "backfilling" means some of your boys and their rides are going to be deployed to Eastern Europe for a while...
