I agree with you about the rise of progressivism. In my opinion, it was driven by the blossoming of the internet and social media by the young who tend to be more liberal and progressive.

And I feel the same way you do about progressivism, just with the caveat that I feel the exact same way about Trumpism.

I'd like to see a return to non-hyper-reactionary politics, but I suspect those days may be over, or are at least well beyond the horizon for the time being.

It's not that huge. Locally, Tarrant County is somewhat conservative and the current board members of Fort Worth Independent School District have been on borrowed time for quite some time. When it comes to state and presidential politics, it is mostly purple and not really a D or R.
