BTW, the new Panamax oil tanker uses 63,000 gallons of fuel a day. A pipeline doesn’t use any except for the energetic needed for the pumps.

ah, so then you knew it happened then, not sure why you acted like you did not then

you said "Can you .. do show how Trump tried to raise oil prices"

I did not know Trump took specific actions .. and as stated .. the purpose of the question was not to deny that these had happened ... but to show your silliness that there was good reason for wanting oil prices higher.. wanting the OPEC Russia Cartel to stop the madness.

but this has been stated to you 4 times now .. you acting as though it never happened ... still in la la land ..trying to figure out what the difference between desiring something to happen - and actions to make it happen .. only to find out that the resolution of that issue - has no bearing on the point.. you are desperately trying not to make..

speaking of which .. for the 4rth time .. What is your point .. so what if Trump desired the oil price to increase... What premise does this support .. or do you just go around spouting random information without point ?

And Last -- when you want a valid argument against Trump .. do feel free to ask. A few have been provided already .. clearly going deer in headlights .. but I have more.

    That was your mistake.
Too busy making profits, lobbying govt , assuming you would always have cheap energy.
Meanwhile helping to cause massive wildfires, stronger storms and floods.
    Nothing stays the same forever.
Your "nothing we did will change" even though it affects the entire globe is the selfish irresponsible attitude taken by China and Russia.
I am afraid the USA is not exceptional.

There are many things we can do right now and stopping fossil fuel production is not it!
We can gradually and SLOWLY increase green energy use as we gradually and SLOWL decrease fossil fuel usage.
We can RIGHT NOW stop buying things in plastic bottles.
The damage plastic is doing to the oceans and creatures are 100x worse than what burning of fossil fuels does for the environment.
    Carpool whenever possible.
RECYCLE (i know most of it goes in the landfill but not all of it does)
Keep WORK FROM HOME for those that can do it. This has reduced my carbon footprint by LOTS.
They already got rid of plastic bags at stores in New Jersey and while I admit it can be a pain, its an inconvenience I'm willing to deal with.
We can also go back to being SMART!
I got a paper straw at a restaurant the other day that was wrapped in PLASTIC (kinda defeats the purpose).
You can also just buy a re-useable metal straw (FYI)
The right is never gonna take you guys seriously on the environment until you stop using it for political power and start practicing what you preach.
Yes I'm talking to YOU Leonardo DiCaprio with your private jet carbon foot print that is probably bigger than the footprint of all users on this forum put together.
Yes I'm talking to you casual liberals that like to preach the environment while cruising down the street in your gas guzzling SUV while drinking water out of a plastic bottle and complaining about the fossil fuel industry.
    STOP TALKING AND START DOING!!!!!

    Thats not true.

Oil drilling devastates the local wildlife habitats. This is why we should never drill in ANWAR for example.

You must mean the U.S. The problem we have here isn't the private sector. It leads the world. It is exceptional. The problem we have is our government which leads in embarrassment. It is government causing all of these problems including the wildfires. Our government is not exceptional. It is corrupt and incompetent. Anti Americanism doesn't work with me but I appreciate the response. But don't confuse the American public with the American government.

When it comes to climate change, the product doesn't match the packaging. Raising livestock for food produces more greenhouse gases than cars. The way I see it, its more about making sure meat and oil producers profit. I don't see any genuine concern for the planet.

and thats with 20% of the population eating meat - far less with access to a vehicle. so of our roughly 8 billion - 6 Billion not yet industrialized.

and this is where the math gets ugly - A subsistance dweller - "bowl of rice a day" consumes at a rate of (1) .. first world - (36). China was at roughly (11) when the boom hit full swing 25 years ago.. over which we industrialized roughly 600 million .. China accounting for half .. Asia most of the rest ..

In this time - CO2 went from 22 Billion tons a year to 36 Billion tons/year .. So much for greening things up in the 20th century .. this also came with a massive increase in Ocean Pollution .. a concern which is likely more pressing than CO2 .. winning the race to the brick wall.

During this past 25 years .. First world nations did not increase .. which means all of the increase came from industrialization of 600 Billion people. and we have 6 Billion left to go.

Should we industrialize at the same rate over next 25 years -- continuing the increase to CO2 and Ocean Pollution .. for sure the Oceans will tank.. catastrophic damage .. and we will have industrialized another 600 million with 7.4 Billion non industrialized left to go .. as Population is expected to grow by 2 Billion to 10 Billion by 2050.

It's really expensive and has a long lead time so by the time you get your first barrel, prices may be back to $1.50/gal. Not saying we shouldn't drill, but the hitch has always been global pricing allows too many people to drive prices way up or down. If we were to limit exports by only allow drilling at 110% of our need and only allow 10% to be exported at any given time, it would do more to stabilize prices. They would probably stabilize higher than they would on fair weather days in the current system, so the cheapskates in Texas would never go for OMG Socialistic oil pricing!!!

Weather isn't climate -periodic times of higher or lower temperature, more or less rain, snow, or sunshine are climate change.

No it is not even close to a fact. Trump wanted oil prices low for the American people....Trump wanted America energy independent which it was at the end of his term. United States energy production was higher than U.S. energy consumption
Biden wants to "make America last again" (MALA) and has done everything in the book to increase our oil prices...

How does paying more for everything reduce climate change?

You still use just as much energy it's just that you're ****ing over the poorest people.

Not knowing basic things like temperature v climate is problematic.
