So grow your own food and don't use electricity or anything made in a factory. That's the only way you fight it.
So making the poor pay more for goods without doing a damn thing for the climate is helping?

Not for me, you may have some confusion, however.

I'm not sure about bullseye but I feel absolutely no fear, guilt, anxiety over climate.

Like all doomsday conspiracy theories I don't believe it.

Who cares if the planet warms up a little more?

You're probably young and haven't had enough experience to know that climate catastrophe is bullshit. I was told as a small child that the Earth would end in the next couple of years.

One day you might grow out of this nonsense.

No premise - no point - Just random facts to show us what a good job Trump did :)

    Yup exactly.

In my neck of the woods there are quite a few folks who live in dry cabins with no running water and an outhouse in the yard, literally. Many are even completely off the grid and grow their own produce and hunt/fish for their food and spend very little money at the grocery store. Folks like that are allowed to fuss at me for climate change and I'll respect their opinion and actually more than likely entertain them if they wish to converse with me about climate change. Virtue signaling folks who fuss about climate change via texting on their iphone 12 in the air conditioned Starbucks cafe drinking their 10 dollar caramel latte out of a paper straw can pound sand.

"But it's the big evil corporations who do most of the polluting! Even if I cut back nothing will change unless they do!". Newsflash, the big evil corporations polluting Mother Earth are mostly doing it to mass produce crap that you WANT. I'm not saying everybody should live like some of my neighbors who boil water to bathe and go number 2 in an outhouse in the backyard. If everybody simply cut back to my level which isn't even anywhere near "roughing it" then that alone would help climate change. Just little basic stuff such as how I don't drink bottled water I get a cup and drink water from the sink because this is America and there is nothing wrong with the water from the sink. I turn the lights off when I leave a room. I drive a small 30 year old truck because I need a truck for my area and way of life but I fix it when it breaks instead of buying a brand new luxury platinum edition gas guzzling land ship that I use to take the kids to the mall that has never even seen dirt let alone hauled anything. I cook most of my own food and bring my lunch to work instead of spending 10-20 bucks per day at the local mass factory farm requiring fast food joint. I could continue...

My carbon footprint is objectively lower than the majority of the 1st world and I don't even necessarily "care" about climate change the way many of these so called activists do.

it's relevant to the price of oil today, not sure why you feel Trump trying to reduce supply during covid to raise the price is not relevant today to the global shortage as demand increases at the end of Covid as the supply is not there

First you say you did not have a premise .. just tossing out random information .. now you claim that Trumps actions to reduce supply in 2020 are part of the reason for shortages today.

Not sure whether I should praise you for finally making a point -- after being asked 5 times to do so - or chide you for being a complete waste of time

Either way .. your premise is false...

it is part of the reason for the high prices today, at least your now admiting Trump worked to reduced supply to raise prices during covid, even if we disagree that reduced supply is part of why prices are higher today

Beats me how you think the US govt has much sway over private companies' decisions, outside of taxation and safety regulation.
It can advise according to international agreements made but cannot enforce those decisions.
When, where and how much to eploit your natural resources is PRIVATE COMPANIES decisions.

Told you 5 times Trump wanted supply reduced .. now you say "at least you are now admitting Trump wanted to reduce supply"

    What is your problem ?

I disagree, you clearly haven't touched on logic! From what I gather from your posts is you have a VERY NARROW understanding of what petroleum provides humanity other than fuel/energy!

Your replies to other forum members are in contrast to the teachings of Buddha. One can study and live by Buddhist philosophy without "converting" Perhaps meatless Mondays and polite forum discussions would be a good start.

The debate on climate change (Global warming) appears to be more about political power than genuine concern for the planet or public health. Vegans on bicycles at least walk the walk!

Not exactly. Natural resources are regulated heavily by federal and state governments. No permit, no resources. We are going through a fuel shortage currently caused by exactly that.

As told you a number of times .. prior to oil crash Trump was actively increasing supply . after the crash he wanted El Saud and Russia to stop flooding the market.

Which part did you not understand the first ... second .. and now third time ?

Buddha does not preach nice and polite discussions. Buddha preaches right speech. And telling someone off because they are apologizing for white supremacy, or denying the harm of climate change under the guise of "polite forum discussions".

If you close your eyes while driving at high speeds towards a brick wall, you are still going to wreck. If you slow down a little bit while hurtling towards the wall, you may delay the impact by a few seconds, but you are still going to wreck. Only by opening your eyes and changing direction are you going to avert the wreck. We let off the accelerator a little bit in the past, but we are still hurtling towards the wall.

The planet does give a flying **** if the poor or rich are ****ed over. Everyone was ****ed over by our greedy government not doing more to incentivize transitioning off of fossil fuels decades ago. Population growth needs to stop, economic growth needs to stop, and the debt shell game needs to stop. That is the only way our fossil fuel addiction will end. And if it doesn't end by our choice, then nature is going to end it for us. Better we do it responsibly, with a gradual drawdown of fossil fuel reliance rather than a sudden stop when fossil fuel extraction becomes more energetically expensive than the energy we actually get out of it. That time is coming fast. Energy return on investment of fossil fuels has been steadily declining since the 50s, and when the ratio falls below 1:1, then we are really screwed.

    So why do it? Spite?

Transition is to what the dark ages? Unicorn farts and rainbows aren't a viable source of energy and the government subsidizes this garbage several orders of magnitude more than fossil fuels. Nobody could do any more for "green" (not really) energy if they tried
what if nobody cares about this stupid religion and just carries on?

The eco Harold Campings of the world will always say the end is near they've been doing it for decades.
Go tell it on the mountain.
and replace it with what magic, pixie dust?
Repent and thou shalt be saved. Yeah I heard all that crap when people called it Christianity. Same thing different day.
Nobody has prefected Unicron farts yet so... Guess we're stuck.
