Yes, but the problem is that in most minority communities, poverty prevents the purchase of firearms. Guns ain't cheap. Then there's the ongoing costs of ammo, a place to practice your skills, a secure place to store the gun(s), etc. Even a white female like myself has to budget for the occasional trip to the range.

 

Can you back that claim? And, can you link to reliable data showing lower crime rates in places where people are allowed to carry weapons?

Horse pucky. I live in a very "red" city, in an open carry state, with lax gun laws. There is no shortage of morons, and various types of asses, with no way to tell who's armed. There is no more, and no less, crime per capita here than in a similar sized city in, say, California.

 

Guns aren't all that expensive either, or at least they don't have to be. A Taurus 9mm pistol can be had for under $200. That's about what a pair of Air Jordans go for, and are not uncommon in those same minority communities.
