However, killers keep resorting to guns.

Now explain to me how countries with a homicide rate ten times as great as the United States (apparently not by shooting according to you) manage to exceed our homicide rate by such as a massive degree. If you are correct that their off the chain murder rates are not due to gun murder, then obviously gun control won't do a thing for America as it didn't do a thing for them.

And Biden is making it entirely political and attacking the gun manufacturers. Blaming it on "assault weapons" when we don't even know what weapons he had. Nothing about mental illness which this guy mostly suffered after killing his grandmother then purposely going to kill children.

They’ll throw the (developed world) argument at you. Which in turn makes no sense. Cause if gun control works it should work everywhere and not where they just pick it should work. It’s cultures that are violent, not guns and they will never understand that.

 

We need a war, or something, to get the most passionate youth to enlist and learn to function under some discipline. Sometimes I think people need some crisis for their own good - reminds everyone that things are not that bad here and our internal issues are rather mild. I’m not saying I want some war - just making an observation that societies that face some real challenges tend to not have some of the ills of our society of today.

 

When you prevent armed civilians from entering an area, you reduce the chance of a shooting.

The Republicans apply this principle in their convention.

Yeah, I think you're right in part. I know of two people right now, one a former friend, one the child of a friend, who are socially retarded. I would not be the least bit surprised if either of them ended up in the national news by doing something crazy. But only one of the two was spoiled. I don't know what is wrong with the other one, except that he's now a white supremacist, incel, holocaust denying Nazi sympathizer. And he has a gun. They are both intelligent.

 

I'm not proud, no, but nor do I feel culpable for the shooter's decision to murder school children. It kinda sounds like you want to blame all Americans for this. That's wrong.

I can see #1 happening, but certainly not #2 - 51% of Americans have had psychiatric issues at some point in their lives.
