Seems like little has changed in Georgia, although I hope voters are now educated enough to defeat suppression efforts

    SNIP
Democrat Stacey Abrams, who is running for governor, disputed Republican claims that the election law did not lead to voter suppression.

“It's correlation without causation,” Abrams said. “We know that increased turnout has nothing to do with suppression. Suppression is about whether or not you make it difficult for voters to access the ballot.”

She said several voters were frustrated Tuesday.

“We know that across the state voters are still facing difficulties,'' Abrams said. "And this is just the primary.’’

I would be pissed as crap if I was moved from the place I've voted at for almost 30 years, but this stuff doesn't happen where I live...

The gauntlet has officially been thrown down

    https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/sen-warnock-challenges-herschel-walker-194000102.html

Of course, Herschel Walker thinks the gauntlet is a bracelet for really skinny people.... plus this bit of lunatic genius....

I normally can't stand to watch debates at any level, but THIS I would watch... doubt if I'll get it on the tube up here in Virginia....

I don't watch many debates, either. Had to watch debates with Trump, though. I don't think I'd watch Herschel, at least in full, since it's only a senate race in a far-away state. Might change my mind and watch it later if I hear it was something really speschel, though.

EgoFact judges that statement "Mostly False"

    SNIP
Gov. Brian Kemp did not ultimately need Democrats in his blowout victory against his Trump-backed opponent, but Raffensperger probably did. The Republican secretary of state cleared the 50% threshold required to avoid a runoff election by just over 27,000 votes, according to the latest AP tallies. Based on early voting data alone, 37,144 former Democrats voted in the Republican primary. The total number of crossovers including Election Day votes, set to be revealed in the coming weeks, may be even higher.

Back in Georgia, Raffensperger’s team pushed back on the idea that he won the GOP primary because of Democrats. The team suggested that a number of crossover voters were actually Republicans who voted Democratic in recent years to protest Trump.

So, keeping just one MAGA nutcase out of a runoff is a job well done, mystery crossover voters..

    What are you talking about?

Those are former democrats turned republicans. Not crossover votes. Come talk to me when they release the crossover votes.

What is your exact definition of crossover votes?

In states like Georgia and North Carolina you can be registered for any party you want and then vote on any primary ticket you desire.

So let’s say I’m a Republican and our primaries for Senate and Governor are pretty much locked before the primary even starts. And I know there is a heated primary for governor on the democrat side. I can choose, as a Republican, to vote in the Democrat primary and vote for the democrat candidate I think has the best chance of being defeated in November.

That’s what happened in Georgia. Abrams is a lock so a lot of the Dems decided to crossover and vote on the Republican primary ticket for the candidates they thought would be the easiest to defeat. And it worked.

And I’m not hating on em for it. It was a good strategy and it worked. But if you think this was Trump getting rejected by the republicans you’re mistaken.

So, would you call somebody who voted in the D primary of 2020 and then voted in the R primary in 2022 a crossover vote??

That's exactly what these 37K are

    SNIP
An Associated Press analysis of early voting records from data firm L2 found that more than 37,000 people who voted in Georgia’s Democratic primary two years ago cast ballots in last week’s Republican primary, an unusually high number of so-called crossover voters.
    ENDSNIP

I don't think it matters in Georgia how you are registered, it matters how you vote. If you vote for different parties in subsequent elections, you are a crossover voter...

No in the context of primaries a crossover vote is someone who is not in the party whose ticket they are voting on.

Your interpretation of a crossover is correct in the general but not a primary election. I mean I guess they could be crossovers too but I’m referring to people not in the party voting on that party’s ticket.

Raffensperger did 5 hours in front of the Ga. Grand Jury yesterday. No word on his post-interview reaction.

They also called in his wife...

    SNIP
Just before 1 p.m. Thursday, Elliot spotted Raffensperger’s wife Tricia walking into the courthouse.

Sources told Channel 2 Action News that the grand jury wanted her testimony too, though it was unclear as to the reason.

Tricia Raffensperger did endure death threats after the election.
