And failed miserably, he should have let GM just go through a normal bankruptcy the losing assets would be sold off and the markets would have been fine. As it was his playing boy industrialist negotiated union and stock deals and reorganizing did nothing and GM went bankrupt and all the stock Obama bought cost the taxpayers billions in loses. He also in my opinion worked with GM and Chrysler and using taxpayer money unconstitutionally engaged in unfair competition with the manufactures and non-union workers through the South and other areas of the country. The industry and those of us involved in it in the SE were doing just fine and beating the pants off the products GM and Chrysler were putting out in price and performance and quality. Had GM gone under the plants in the South would have expanded and picked even more market share which they ultimately did after GM went under and declared bankruptcy.
