    HYPERLINK has full story

    snip

The owner of the Subway says the reason for the shooting was something small: a customer was mad about mayo.
"Believe it or not, it was about too much mayonnaise on his sandwich," owner Willie Glenn said.
In this argument, police say the customer shot two Subway employees, leaving a 26-year-old woman dead and another 24-year-old woman rushed to surgery in critical condition.

    end snip

a 5 year old child of the injured worker was inside the restaurant

in earlier posts it mentions someone fired back at the man

But, a 36 year old "man" decided too much mayo should result in the death of a 26 year old woman

This is a CULTURE problem and no doubt stems from the removal of personal responsibility

    Disgusting

Sometimes I wonder if it's just the fact that these are simply more noticeable because of the nature of our information sources being so prolific or if it's really a new phenomenon. I just don't recall things being this bad as I was growing up. It was rare (or non existed) to see so much disregard for life.

    There were winners and losers.

If you spent more than you could afford, you got a 2nd job and sucked it up.

Now, we forgive student loans because it's hard to have to re-pay. How can they afford their $10 starbuck drink if they are expected to repay?

We've created a generation of irresponsible, entitled people. And, this is what happens

I think mayo is the most disgusting thing mankind ever created, it’s worse than the Dallas Cowboys. But I’ve had mayo accidentally put on Subway sandwiches before and they simply make me another one. I never had to shoot anyone over it.

I think part of that is true. Given technology and how everyone is connected at all time the speed of information is vastly different than the past. However that said, I do believe the op is correct that there has been a culture change in our society which causes these events to happen more often.

Have to ask for a little mayo at Subway. They always put on too much. Just say "little bit of mayo". No guns required.

Working in a deli when I was younger, you always did get that irate customer though.

I'm sure that happened, but here is another incident where the individual is too emotionally unbalanced to be walking around armed.

I learned the hard way when I lived in Puerto Rico that they put mayo on everything, including egg sandwiches. One night after drinking too much Bacardi 151 we went to a Burger King and they put mayo on my burger after I told them not to. With the courage 151 will give you I stood up in the middle of the floor and punted it.

Is this black on black crime? Atl has a lot of it. What are the odds that was a legally owned weapon?

That thought crossed my mind as well. I assumed that if it was a legally owned gun the MSM would be all over this story.

Either way, he's gonna be getting a LOT of "mayo" in prison!

Not all outrage is justified. When society says it is, this is the result. Likely the shooter was fighting some sort of 'injustice' or another in their mind at that instant.

The Subways where I live, they won't put on mayo - or anything else - until you ask for it, and they do this right in front of you. Was this some kinda order where they phoned it in for pick-up or sumthin??

Thanks for finding this very interesting yet bizarre incident.

I have a feeling that it was just a matter of time before this deranged human time bomb went off on someone.

Briefly put, I think that the only way to make killings like this less frequent is through improved and expanded mental health detection and treatment initiatives, not more feel-good-do-nothing gun laws that are ignored by the violently mentally ill and criminals.

If someone in a more accessible and affordable mental health system had detected and treated the violent rage that drove this individual to kill 2 people there wouldn't need to be "thoughts and prayers".

What we don't need is a justice system which releases this killer on society after a slap on the wrist.

Did anyone notice the shooter shot two women and the manager had a gun? Also, after the shooter was arrested the police gave his age but not his name.

This would never have happened if they all had guns and an armed guard at the doo, right?

you spelled legal gun owner wrong. On purpose, since you don’t know any better.

The manager had a gun and fired back which probably caused the shooter to run away. Without the manager and his gun it could have been a blood bath.

Some folks just don’t like mayo. I have such a dislike for the stuff I won’t even move the jar in the fridge with my bare hands, I have to cover it with a towel first or move it aside with a ladle. I know, I have a thing, but we all have our things. I also have a thing for high ledges, not heights, high ledges, which is odd because I used to walk across the George Washington Bridge as a kid or play on the cliffs in the NJ Palisades along the Hudson. Today, not a chance in hell. No way.

The race of the shooter was not mentioned.... One need not wonder why.

Being in the customer service industry myself I know what 90% of irate and irrational customer share in common
