This is why I don't get partisanship. The tides change with every new Administration and broadstroked senselessly. The facts of the matter are no POTUS is wholly responsible for what happens in the country under their watch and if want to live by this "us versus them" thing, we can expect make no (or very slow) progress. It's counterintuitive.

What I think is that our border situation cannot be resolved over night. Biden's approach has been about cleaning up the problems he inherited and working on the root cause of all the migration to the US. That won't work overnight either. Nothing is a quick fix so we need to stop yowling about it and playing a blame game.

Few are saying their not most are saying Congress is f'ing us by not reforming immigration, which allows more of the good hard workers in. As it stands now, we have no clue who is coming in, they sneak across the border causing all kinds of problems for this country. The left always gets caught up in rhetoric, it's not immigration, it's illegal immigration the right wants ended. We're tired of the stories of sex slaves simply because these women want a better life and cartel smugglers take advantage. We're tired of criminals sneaking easily across our borders, we have enough of those already. We're really f'ing tired of the good ones not having a way to get here an work safely and in the open. We're also tired of those who do it the right way waiting in line, going through background checks yet in that time 1,000 unchecked have poured into our country. I don't blame them, I blame congress period.

Funny. You say don't play a blame game and in the same post blame Trump.

What exactly do you claim Biden is doing to address the "root cause of all the migration?" Can you provide some specifics, or just expect to throw out claims that Biden is doing something while illegals swarm accross our border. Can you name any policies Biden has implemented to stop illegal immigration? Here I will help you out. The link below provides Bidens

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing...a-and-to-provide-safe-and-orderly-processing/

Executive Order on Creating a Comprehensive Regional Framework to Address the Causes of Migration, to Manage Migration Throughout North and Central America, and to Provide Safe and Orderly Processing of Asylum Seekers at the United States Border

So perhaps you can read this order and explain in plain English any specific and meaningful actions the order provides for.

The order states several points which I have listed below with a translation.

The Root Causes Strategy shall identify and prioritize actions to address the underlying factors leading to migration in the region and ensure coherence of United States Government positions.

Translation - Bidens strategy is to develop a strategy.

    promoting respect for human rights, labor rights, and a free press;

    Translation - meaningless platitude.

encourage the deployment of Northern Triangle domestic resources and the development of Northern Triangle domestic capacity to replicate and scale efforts to foster sustainable societies across the region.

Translation - I don't have a clue. Perhaps some liberal can tell me what this means. Handouts to Mexico and Central America from the American taxpayer perhaps.

The Collaborative Management Strategy shall identify and prioritize actions to strengthen cooperative efforts to address migration flows, including by expanding and improving upon previous efforts to resettle throughout the region those migrants who qualify for humanitarian protection.

Translation - total meaningless language that sounds like it came from a jargon generator

humanitarian assistance, including through expansion of shelter networks

Translation - set up an infrastructure to help illegals come to the US.

consider taking all appropriate actions to reverse the 2017 decision rescinding the Central American Minors (CAM) parole policy and terminating the CAM Parole Program, see “Termination of the Central American Minors Parole Program

Translation - the "consider taking all appropriate actions" may actually mean take no action. The CAM program encourage immigrants from Central America to enter the US as refugees. So Biden wants to crank up this recinded program.

The Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall promptly evaluate and implement measures to enhance access for individuals from the Northern Triangle to visa programs, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law.

Translation - Biden will discourage the illegals swarming into America by making them legal. Problem solved.

The Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Attorney General, the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Director of CDC, shall promptly begin taking steps to reinstate the safe and orderly reception and processing of arriving asylum seekers, consistent with public health and safety and capacity constraints.

Translation -- Biden seeks to enable more people to swarm into the US.

Well I could go on and on. But I think my point is made. Liberals think and/or claim language like the above represents specific actions to control immigration. Which is does not. But it does allow liberals to claim Biden has a root cause strategy.

So after a lengthy post I am coming to what used to be called the 64 Thousand Dollar question? I challenge any Biden supported to answer this question but do not expect an answer.

What metric does Biden use or do you use to measure the success of Bidens root cause strategy?

Firstly, I didn't 'blame Trump'. I was responding to a thread about blame and I found it rich that Reps are blaming Biden for something that also happened under Trump.

    As for actions:
    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing...on-has-taken-to-address-the-border-challenge/

I don't think that any POTUS could 'fix' the immigration problem quickly or to the satisfaction of everyone. But I support the idea of working on the root causes rather than bandaid fixes.

I pointed out to you in this thread that I specifically blamed Trump for failing to control illegals and had prior posts he on PF to that effect. And I also pointed out to you that Trump is no longer President. Biden is President. Yet in responding you continually want to post your Trump whataboutism and false political party dichotomy.

You refuse to address the fact that that Biden has done nothing to address the problem except issue meaningless jargon laced strategy to develop a strategy. And of course you cannot provide any metric to measure Bidens success or failure.

You would do great working in Washington DC where the government solves problems by actions such as creating a "working group." You would not make it as a high level manager in private industry where success or failure is measured by metrics. So I will try one more time to actually have a meaningful discussion with you.

Without a metric how do you measure Job Biden's success addressing our immigration. How do you know he acheived success or how do you know if he failed? That is a simple question. Are you going to answer it or just keep posting Democrat talking points.

Maybe we should start to consider that our immigration problem is driven by issues that are outside the president's control. The current immigration crisis started around 2006, and it has only steadily gotten worse except for the first year of the pandemic.

Congress needs to overhaul our immigration system, and we need to spend more effort dealing with the push factors that are causing people to leave their country in the first place.

Or we could lock down our border and let those that qualify in. We could increase it by a million a year, what we can't do is not lock down the border. They won't be as apt to expose themselves to all the evil to get here when they know they're not getting in without proper qualification. There is a reason every other civilized country in the world treats immigration this way. We can't fix our damn country much less someone else's, so that's a non starter.

Of course your post totally ignores the fact that CBP and ICE are Executive Branch agencies. And like your friend above you have the knee jerk whataboutism. Lets talk about what Biden is going to do to solve the problem. If the answer is he can't do sh*t than just say so.

BTW, it is not the job of the American taxpayer, a country that is 30 Trillion in debt, to be the savior of other countries and address their problems. We need to implement control of our own border. That is the job of the America government. Turn the US Border Patrol loose and let them get to work. Ramp up the number of agents and if neccessary take people from other Executive Branch agencies. And then of course there is the option of using the US military to control our borders.

Refugees? The ones sneaking across our border aren’t refugees, they’re illegal aliens.

If we kicked every illegal out of the country we would:

    Have less murders
    Have less rapes
    Have less kidnappings
Have less dead bodies in the desert
    Have less drunk driving
    Have less gangs
    Have less prison inmates
Have less people sucking up our healthcare
Have less students in our classrooms
Have less cars on the road
Have less drugs on the street
    Use less electricity
    Use less water

I believe all of the above are issues the left is concerned with, all except the part about drugs.

There are a lot of people that came to the US as refugees fleeing communism and then vote for neo-communism here in the US.

I don't care how who they vote for. Do you? Should that be part of our vetting process, determining how they might vote in elections one day?

That would be true no matter which group of people we kicked out of the country.

They are refugees, you just don't like the looks of them.

ICE and CBP are dealing with a situation the current immigration law was not built to deal with. That is why no President has been able to do much about it.

Congress needs to figure out what they want immigration reform to look like and pass legislation.

Let me address your comment with the proverb listed below. Of course the scorpion represents the people the US accepts as refugees and the frog represents America.

A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed the frog in the middle of the river. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both.

Not sure why you think that would change my opinion of you.

It's clear you think this particular group of people are associated with only bad things, just look at the cute little list you made a couple of posts up.

Every group does bad things, but bad things done by that particular would never happen if they weren’t here. God forbid one of them murdered one of your loved ones or killed them while driving drunk, would it bother you that your loved one would still be alive if an illegal never came here?

Yes, gang members are persecuting non gang members.

Our legal definition of persecution is not up to date with our situation.

You are resorting to semantics to justify not helping a group of people you don't trust.

So we should not accept any immigrants then.

A certain percentage of babies grow up to become criminals. We should put a stop to all of these births, which will just lead to more criminals.
