A better title for this thread might have been, "Why people carry weapons of SELF-DEFENSE". Perhaps if this 72-year-old man had been carrying a firearm, he would still be alive today....

Notice -- this story came from FOX NEWS, and not from MSNBC, NBC, CNN, or any of the other mainstream, hyperliberal 'woke' networks. Surprise!

Afterthought: ever wonder why despicable murders like this don't happen often (if at all) in our adversaries' countries -- like China or Russia...? Their police are allowed to do their jobs!

There isn't any hope for these animals and YES! they are animals and there isn't any hope for them. They are deserving of NO! mercy and have no soul. This is why I conceal carry. You don't see White, Asian or Hispanic hordes roaming the streets doing these kinds of crimes, ONLY! one race BLACKS!

Ha! Yeah, probably for about 15 seconds, on the Philadelphia affiliate station. All this past week the big, nationwide liberal networks have been spending lavish amounts of airtime instead on that stupid, oblivious Griner basketball player, and her "wife", after Griner was arrested on drug charges in Russia. BOO-HOO-HOO!

I noticed that after all this mush-and-gush about Griner, Joe Biden captured headlines by saying he'd work to get her free, etc. One wonders if Biden might find a moment in his busy day to assure the loved ones of this 72-year-old man who was murdered in Philadelphia that he'll use the might of his presidential office to pursue the monsters who killed him. Hint: I wouldn't hold my breath!

 

If the man had been walking down the street with a baseball bat, the police might have arrested him! How about carrying "a knife"? Pixie, this guy was 72-years-old, and probably not someone who had experience as a 'military commando' or something. Moreover, he was savagely attacked by a GANG of these monsters. Some fictional character like The Terminator might have defended himself without a firearm, but some old guy, all alone, on a city street? I know you know better than that!

A 72 year old man with a baseball bat who is surrounded by 4 or 5 young attackers is going to lose that battle. Same with pepper spray.

You’re partly right, though. He didn’t need to kill anyone. He needed to stop them though. The only thing that would have given him a chance of stopping them and surviving was a gun. Not being able to stop them cost him his life.

I wonder if President Biden will show this old man's loved ones the consideration of reaching out to them and expressing his concern, and his heartfelt 'thoughts-and-prayers'....

Yes, this is a horrible story, but how are teens raised to be this way and to think this is OK? Making things worse is the Soros installed DA of Philly who is on the brink of being impeached because he doesn’t prosecute criminals. In this country do you know who gets prosecuted? People who speak up at school board meetings or use the wrong pronouns.

 

You wouldn't have to look so hard and so long to find wall-to-wall, constantly-in-your-face coverage at the lib "news" mills about the woefully sad story about poor Brittney Griner and her "wife"!

Still waiting for word about Biden paying any attention at all to this rotten travesty committed by 'youths' in Philadelphia that caused the murder of a helpless old man....

 

What was the race of the victim? Did these thugs kill one of their own or was the murder hate related?

I’ll tell ya what, if the victim was black and the thugs white, this would get 24/7 coverage on the liberal news networks, Biden and Harris would be giving incoherent statements and the rioting, looting and arson would last for weeks.

I helped a friend move her mother out of the Philadelphia slums back in May. It was pretty depressing. I stayed with the trailer to deter any thieves and of course I was legally armed.

 

Good for you for helping your friend, but what on earth would a Texan have done to find himself in a 'woke'-infested shithole like Filthy-delphia in the first place? I congratulate you nevertheless on your successful escape.

Have you ever been subjected to a violent attack by multiple people, i.e., a gang. Have you personally witnessed such an attack with your own eyes? Or is your comment based on liberal theory? Maybe when you get to be 72 and if you experience such an attack, you can demonstrate the knife fighting skills that most of us don't have. Or perhaps you think waving a knife around will have a magic wand effect and cause the attackers to run like rabbits. Guess what. It won't.

 

I was in Delaware for the birth of my granddaughter. Some friends of my son(a military couple) came in from Kansas to help and her mother was in Philly. I was the only one with a concealed carry license valid in PA. They are good friends, so I spent a day helping get her and her 2 kids out of that craphole before they went back to Kansas.

 

As if on cue. With a prominent mugshot to boot!
