Are Euros too stupid to deal with a little global warming? Our parents used to send us to the movies that had air conditioning back in the 60's when it got too hot.

Biological heating is part of the composting process. I really don't think outside temperature is going to start a compost fire. Farmers never store wet hay ..... know why?

Assuming their theaters have AC, what percentage of the pop would fit in there?

    It's negligible...

This is a new problem for them, and they will have a lot of trouble trying to deal with it.

How about a cold shower to cool off? Don't they have showers in Europe? I'm having a hard time believing the human population of Europe is dying off due to global warming.

The heating is going to keep getting worse. There are places now that are being abandoned because they're just too damn hot to live there. It will get hotter.

The end is near... The end is near.

Repent or surely thou shalt perish!

Confess your climate sins to your God government and do your penance! Or surely thou shall burn alive before the death comes for thee!

And less people are dying as a result. Inconvenient truths indeed.

Just how deep in denial are you?

There are negative impacts of agriculture already, and the areas that are too hot to grow food are expanding. The damage from fires continues to grow.

Many civilisations have fallen due to changes in the climate. This is beyond obvious, so why are you ignoring the obvious...

Nobody needs fully automatic AC. Just get some dogs and a big fence and lock the doors and buy cameras and you don’t let the hot in.

I'm in my 70s, cancer ruined my circulation, so I don't do well in the heat or the cold.

    Guess I'm nobody.

I’ve posted facts. You want to provide facts or your unsubstantiated opinions?

Show me the areas too hot to grow food because of temperature increases. Go ahead. No opinions, show me specific places that are being affected by temperatures independent of local deforestation and land mismanagement.

Why are you ignoring the obvious fact fewer are dying of temperature exposure because the planet s warming? Why are you ignoring the fact the deaths from natural disasters has plummeted over the last 100 years as temperatures have increased?

Who is ignoring the “obvious”? I’m posting facts and you are posting unsubstantiated opinions.

But no information on how climate change has cut those deaths drastically and will continue to into the future. Am I right?

That has been quite common in many parts of Europe, although mini-split systems are becoming popular.

In individual houses or appartement , I don't know anybody that got one. It's something you find more in retirement houses, hospitals, museums, some offices, but for housing, it's rare enough that I never saw one. I know my sociability isn't extremely developped, but I'm not a complete ermite neither. But there is a world of differences considering the climate of Normandy or the Azur coast, so I don't know really how people are doing down south.

You wrote "I’ll bet the news isn’t giving you information like this:" which is wrong

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...r-with-heat-related-deaths-rising-study-finds

“In the future, cold-related mortality should continue to decrease, but because the heat-related mortality will continue to increase, that means there will be a break point,” Guo said.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...m-british-winters-results-half-million-fewer/

"Death warmed up: How Britain’s milder winters have ‘saved’ half a million lives

Climate change linked to plunge in mortality rates as data show 509,555 fewer people died as result of cold temperatures over past 20 years"

But what will also have to be factored in is the increase of deaths from diseases typically seen in hotter climates such as malaria. Lack of water or contaminated water is another issue.

Why do I get this dreaded feeling we’re back to Al Gore’s ice caps melting, Greta’s special eyes warning us that she can see the earth dying, just before the unvaccinated all die of flu. We’re doing it again aren’t we, two days of hot sun and next we’ll be shouting for daytime lockdown curfews and the pharmaceuticals will be offering us heat reducing vaccines!

I’m sticking to if we have snow next week or a heatwave on Christmas day I’m going to make myself a little ‘end of the world is nigh’ poster and get out there with the climate extinction nuts.

But this time I’m going to hedge my bets with the blues and reds and say Biden is responsible and if not him, it’s all Trumps fault.

Props to the sources you’ve listed. I’m glad there are outlets telling the truth. I hadn’t seen those.

Why do you think there are so many threads now on PF that ignore these facts that warming has saved lives, is saving lives, and will continue to save lives?

Why aren’t those deaths from malaria showing up now? I’m repeatedly told the climate has warmed so much some places can’t grow food. Where are the heat related malaria etc. deaths that ought to accompany such drastic warming?

Malaria deaths have decreased by almost 50% in the last 20 years! When exactly should I expect this to change (and not temporary interruptions in trends from Covid)? I’m posting facts and you come back with “malaria deaths “might” increase even though they have dropped precipitously as climate has begun warming faster!

How is global temperature going to decrease water availability independently of other factors like deforestation and particulate pollutants? Models show increased precipitation in already dry areas resulting from further warming. Yet “maybe” people will die in the undefined future?

I’m trying to get people to see that the popular narratives about a warmer future planet are not based on facts. The facts show decreasing deaths from suboptimal temps. Increased food production when accounting for deforestation, soil degradation, etc. Decreased deaths from natural disasters and malaria. The argument that “someday in the future” things “may” get worse without concrete evidence is amusing, but dangerous in my opinion.

Why are you ignoring the fact that warming is also killing people, not to mention other life besides us chauvinistic humans?

I’m not. I’m pointing out ya’ll are ignoring the positives. I and my sources are very clear suboptimal high temps kill people. Very few comparatively, but deaths all the same. The point is warming trends end up killing LESS people than stasis or cooling trends. Same with food production. Warming has some negative effects on food production, but the net effects are positive from warming. And cooling would be disastrous with millions if not billions dying.

The narrative global warming is inherently “bad” is denial of all known science—especially evolutionary theory (if that can be called science). The only way to make the narrative all climate change is inherently bad stick is to completely ignore the things I’ve posted. AGW has positives and negatives. But the positives far outweigh the negatives.

What I find to be most egotistical is some human’s belief today that evolution should cease at this moment in time. The species that saw most of its high order development occur during dramatic climate changes now wants to eliminate selective pressures on humans and all other species. Even though 99% of species that have existed are extinct, we now believe what exists today should exist indefinitely with no more extinction or evolution to higher forms through natural selection. We wish to remove all environmental selection pressures from ourselves and the other existing life forms at this snapshot in time. Talk about narcissism….if it weren’t so disturbing it would be hilarious
