The ACLU lost its way and has become the champion of the woke. Imagine believing that the way to end racism (which pretty much doesn't exist) is to defend racism.

As we currently stand, certain people are already given preferences in hiring, Biden's farm subsidies, TV commercials and magazine ads, vaccine access, hospital care, etc, along being unable to be fired. The ONLY place merit seems to count is in sports.

If the ACLU helps win this case then a few years from now anyone who needs surgery, flies on a plane, has a case before a court, etc, will need to check to see if they're getting the best doctor, engineer and lawyer, or if they're getting someone who got into college based on a check box and proceeded to graduate because the standards have been lowered in order to do so.
Here is a list of companies who agree with racial preferences and discrimination and joined the lawsuit.

Simply put, the ACLU are now obviously a racist organization who's existence is a stain on our nation.

Universities were doing preferential admissions long before race became a an issue.

They want a diverse student body, which makes sense.

But I just love the badly hidden racism...

What racism? Oh, you must mean by the ACLU.

So why is diversity a good thing? Please explain in detail why merit should take a back seat to check boxes.

Merit was never the deciding factor. How many kids got in because daddy went there or bought them a new football stadiums? how many got in back then because only whites could?
Stop pretending we’ve ever been a meritocracy. Haven’t you heard of Hunter Biden? George W?

So you guys are against discrimination until you’re for it just like you’re against segregation and different rules for different until you’re for it. Does merit mean anything to you?

While it’s true that the elites get better treatment than the plebs (see Chelsea Clinton) that wasn’t decided on the race of the masses. And we don’t live ‘back then.’ How much longer can ‘back then’ be milked?

Oh the rich and kids of the rich still get that treatment. That hasn’t changed.

Yeah, rich kids of all colors and backgrounds, that seems to be how the system works. I would imagine admitting kids of the elite would get the college more prestige, more donations and grants, or both.

Do you know what they admit on that isn’t based on race but merit? Athletic scholarships.

Athletic scholarships, another group who get in despite their academic success. End that nonsense.

We, the citizens of the United States of America, are composed of diverse nationalities and cultures. One would like to see the student bodies of our colleges and universities reflect this. It would mean that the opportunity for higher education is not restricted by nationality or culture -- that those individuals who aspire to higher education are not held back by nationality or culture.

Achieving that is not a simple task.

Who is being held back by nationality or culture except the people who earned a spot on the admissions list but got bounced for a diversity admission?

    Hi, Steve N.

Do colleges and universities actually accept students and then, after they've been accepted, tell them their acceptance has been rescinded for a diversity admission student? I was unaware of that practice.

Regards, stay safe 'n well 'n remember the Big 5.

Yea, we get it. Someone more qualified should be denied because of skin color.

No need to keep defending your racist position....we get it by now.

    Close.

They never accept them in the first place. They just deny them based on race even though they might be more qualified.

There was a big story about this with one of the ivy league schools discriminating against Asians.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...inst-asian-and-white-applicants-idUSKBN26T3PR

Articles on this story are everywhere and easily found if you want to read up on it some more.

Leftists don’t think Asians are a minority hence the open discrimination by the left against Asians with the government embracing this discrimination practice.

That time is long gone. MUCH easier for black people to get accepted to college compared to white people NOW. AND sadly most don’t deserve it because they flunk out at a disproportionate rate. Is their a connection? Of course there is.

And don’t forget the Obamas and especially their daughters. :) Most privileged girls on the planet. And you understand wealthy black people can donate to football stadiums too, to get freebies for their kids?

I always enjoy posts filled with unsubstantiated claims. I’d ask for your sources but….I mean why bother?

I interned in a political office my first year of college. I had to go to the local high schools and speak about the importance of registering to vote for the kids that would be turning 18 before the next election.

The subgroup of kids that had absolutely NO interest in their right to vote were all expecting to get scouted and drafted for professional sports. I tried to explain to them that everybody is not going to become a professional athlete and their vote represents their voice. Still, no go. I know a handful of professional athletes and this is going to sound snobbish, but, they are all dumb as hell.
