I'm sorry, there were a thousand different points on your post, I gave up after the first twenty. You seemed to have encompassed about 30 threads there, across the whole forum. By all means slow down and let's do each concern separately.
@Esau are you told by government where to work or do you choose where to work? Does government tell you which your employer is, or do you choose, and retrain if you decide on a career change? Have you ever been self employed, your own master, your own slave? I've been self employed for 18 years, never looked back, I enjoy the good times and bad times because of my own decisions.
If it costs you more to get to work than you make and you keep doing it we have a failure of common sense and lack of foundational understanding of economics that higher wages won’t fix.
You failed to address the main problem with capitalism in that the only motivating factor is profit (greed). Nice strawman tho for the rest of your post. You'll need to look harder for your boogeyman
You assume it's all about profit under capitalism, so no looking needed on my part, maybe "understanding" on your part.
Everyone wants more and to better themselves. Capitalism provides that for those who intend to work harder to have more than their peers. In pure socialism, those that work the hardest usually end up with barely more than those who work hardly at all while they all get rewarded the same. Perhaps, one day there will be a better system that combines tenets from both so that those who have no inclination for hard work can live comfortably while those who want the finer things in life can still obtain that through hard work.
Imo, that's your Achilles heal. If you do not want what I want, please try not to tell me that my want is wrong.
I'm a self employed capitalist. I'm motivated by when I want to work. I'm motivated by the work I pick and choose. I choose the rate to charge based on the person's situation, a new car on the drive of a big house gets a larger bill, the council house guy gets a cheap bill. I'm motivated by getting rewarded by my efforts, if I do well on a job, I reap the money, if I miscalculated, I suffer the cost and I don't pass the profit or loss onto someone else. What motivates a Socialist?
So you're motivated by; when you need money, how you get money, how much money you want to get and how much money is in your bank. These are all profit incentives. Where are your alternative motivations?
mine is an economy based on reality, not fabrications That want will never end until you are unable to stand up or walk.
That’s all you folks spend money on over there is “energy”? Yes heating costs are way up. Natural gas (wholesale, not to the consumer) in France is about 4 times higher than a year ago. But the post I responded to clearly stated cost of living was tripling this year. Even petrol (energy) isn’t much higher than a year ago in France. A year ago it was about 1.59 euro/L and today it’s about 1.81 euro/L. But what’s really funny about a French resident (not you, I don’t know where you live) complaining about price increases is the fact the government froze natural gas prices at Oct. 2021 prices until the end of 2022 and limited electric price increases to 4%. There is NO fuzzy math that can come up with a tripling of cost of living in France in 2022. It’s a bizarre statement with no foundation in reality.
Iwould say 1/4 of your earnings going on energy is a problem especially if 1/2 is already gone to the mortgage payment. That leaves 1/4 of your salary for everything else lol.
I agree as I worked Construction in Florida while putting myself through college building Hotels doing drywall and framing. Brutal work for $12 an hour. But, do you think someone who does no work at all or who is lazy while hardly working at a bookstore should get the same exact benefits and pay as someone doing construction under socialism? Why work at all then? Fact of the matter is business owners will always pay the blue collar hard workers less than they are worth. Even under Socialism. If Socialism in the USA gets to that point, I am never working again and living off the government. Because, after busting my arse for the past 30 years working since I was 14 years old paying taxes, I would not work hard ever again if that happens!
You have been successful because your government has provided the solid economic floor you need to stand on.
Inflation stinks. Nobody is completely immune. Approximately half of my inputs in my business doubled in price (fertilizers and crop protection chemicals) due to high energy prices. I’m not saying inflation and high energy prices are not a problem. I’m simply pointing out a tripling of cost of living is NOT happening this year and CERTAINLY not in France where energy prices are essentially capped at 2021 levels.
You guys just think in black and white, two party systems etc. There are alternatives to capitalism and socialism. I'm not a socialist. Idont agree with single mothers getting free housing, idont agree with all the welfare support to disabled etc etc yet capitalism is just as bad but for other reasons. An economy should be based on the nation's resources. Capitalism is based on lies and was conceived on the back of slavery 200 years ago.
Unless you're in middle management or higher up the hierarchical food chain, no one loves you in these huge companies.
