Why would Garland protect the uni bomber, but not the FPOTUS. So obviously he was ordered to do it. And who ordered him to do it and why. There should be an impeachment of Garland on general principles, and maybe put Special Prosecutor on Obama’s ass for his “library that isn’t” caper.

So you’re saying he has a high standard before signing off on a warrant?

It think he’s saying Garland, no relation to Judy, has a political standard before signing off on a warrant. You saw how he went after the parents of school kids but let the protesters violate the law as they intimidated and stalked Supreme Court justices. What better example do you need?

Why would there be a political standard for the unabomber? Sounds like they didn’t have enough evidence at the time.
What parents did he go after? Who was arrested?

Probably shows bad judgement on Garland's part.

How so? What evidence did they have at that time to justify a warrant?
    We have no idea!

There's undoubtedly this. It would be nice if he recused himself as Jeff Sessions did(I thought the Sessions criticism was largely unfair, though in hindsight and as I review the situation, Rosenstein was probably our best AG in the last couple of years. Rosenstein would've painstakingly explained the situation, as he did with every announcement and he made clear to the people why the law was being followed in an instance.)

Were I POTUS, I'd reappoint Rosenstein to the position because I believe he's best equipped to be AG of the US

After a lot of ridiculous pressure from Congress because how dare the guy that spied on then-POTUS Trump and hid SCIF information(James Comey) be fired. Actually, let's talk about that a little since it's relevant to the current case. Comey brought an whole ENTIRE SCIF system to his home, and not even a slap on the wrist than the IG report spelling it out.

Obviously, nuclear secrets likely weren't on it but who knows, FBI/intelligence sources likely were and that's on a pretty significant classified level.

Some background, all the had was a manifesto and several experts didn’t think the bomber wrote it, and the warrant was approved anyway

In all fairness I would bet a very very high dollar that the unibomber has a higher IQ, and is likely much better spoken. That however doesn’t negate the fact that this is politically motivated.

    Installed by the fbi
The FBI had installed a secure room in James Comey’s basement so he could work on sensitive matters but Comey didn’t like to use the room because it got too hot, according to a damning inspector general report released Thursday.

Still, to use his own words he was incredibly careless with it. And now I guess it's okay to have classified documents in a private home setting as long as it's approved by the agency in question? All of these cases show that it's very heavily selective. And that's the biggest problem, there's no universal standard that's held by the DOJ or even for that matter, the agencies.

Comey’s basement was outfitted with a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), an access-controlled facility used for review of information derived from intelligence sources or methods. “Comey’s home SCIF contained Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret/SCI enclaves, with a secure printer and a safe,” the IG wrote.

was the golf course? Was he authorized to take them? Did he still work for the govt? It’s like comparing a cop with a gun to a gang member with a stolen one.

I’ve already explained why I feel that way in another thread I posted. It doesn’t add up. But you’ve been partisan towards democrats ever since I’ve been on this platform so I don’t expect you to look at this without bias. I have publicly stated how bad I hate trump for what he done to gun rights. And that I wouldn’t vote for him again. But now I’m changing my mind. If he runs in 2024 and I have to pick between a guy who has civilians on his side vs the guy who lies with the party that attacks their political opponents with the DOJ I will pick the man that has the people on his side.

    IG disagrees
But while at times harsh on Comey, the report does not go as far as some conservative journalists had claimed it would. Specifically, there is no finding that Comey lacked candor in his answers to investigators, and Horowitz writes that there is “no evidence” that Comey leaked any classified information to the media. For that, Comey claimed vindication.

Just because he said it does not mean he did it. Unless he has actual evidence to suggest such a thing and the context in which it did happen,

BTW, for regular, joe average, like the Unabomber, the investigative agency, the FBI, does not need approval for a search warrant, just a judge. And in federal circles, that is usually the magristrate, not district judges.

We do know from his testimony that he was the supervising attorney in the case until he went to the DC Circuit Court before the Unabomber was convicted. But no other evidence to suggest otherwise. More details are required than a political hack job by a former disgruntled employee.

As for the Unibomber, he name was not even on the radar until a year or two before his arrest. He had twisted, encrypts messages with no fingerprints. Touch DNA was even invented at that time. The FBI posted parts of the 35000-word manifesto that he sent in 1995 asking for public assistance and his brother, David Kaczynski wrote back and described his brother, Ted Kacynski. And that was approved by the Director of the FBI and Janet Reno.
